I had a wonderful stay at this lovely apartment in Dubrovnik. The host was every bit as warm and friendly as their big, shaggy dog — a real welcome after a long journey. The apartment itself was simple, spotless, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.

The views were absolutely stunning — sweeping across the old city from a peaceful garden filled with vibrant citrus trees and fragrant herbs. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.

A friendly local bar and small shop are just a short walk away, though it’s worth noting — like everywhere in Dubrovnik, that walk involves plenty of stairs. It’s all part of the city’s charm (and your daily workout is included!).

All in all, a wonderful stay — comfortable, scenic, and full of character. Highly recommended.

If you take Uber, it is very easy to move to old town but If you would like to move by foot, It is not necessary to go to gym. The balcony view was one of my best view to see sunset and the beautiful scenery of Dubrovnik. I would like to stay again definitely when I visit Dubrovnik later.

Incredible view from my balcony! But you pay the price with walking up those stairs :P. Very helpful host who lives on site. Very close walk to old town. Host offered taxi service for my arrival and I'm glad I did. There's no way I would find the place on my own at night.

We loved our stay at Guesthouse Home Sweet Home with an amazing host Zrinka. It has a bit of steps to get up to but it was well worth it with amazing views of Old Town and Lokrum Island at your door step. Amenities were good enough for us on a short trip and a small kitchenette was handy too. Thanks to Katarina too for helping with any queries we had along the way

The view was amazing! Anna was very helpful. The room was clean but could definitely do with maintenance. A socket loose in the wall, marks on the bed head, chipped tiles in the bathroom, shower head holder broken.
A lot is steep steps to the property, but I was aware of this.

The view is entirely worth it. I would recommend taking Uber to the right side of the place where it has a road. This way you can skip the stairs which can be challenging for some people but this is just part of the country's culture. If you will need to lift your luggage. But the view will blow your expectations. If you get to the far left room facing the city, you will get the best view.

The host we met with was fantastic and gave us great tips for our short stay in Dubrovnik! Very close to the old town which was fantastic, although be prepared for a lot of stairs getting back up to the suites! Fantastic view of old town, the water, and the sunsets from up there though!

Feels like \"stairway to heaven\" with over 400 stairs (not steps) from Iza Graba (main street). For the rate, it was decent accommodation, perhaps not more than a couple of days. A check-out of 11:00 - as opposed to 10:00 - might be better suites for the location. Needless to say, the views of the old city were worth the hike!

Zrinka the owner, was very helpful . The views were spectacular!
If you stay in unit seven, and plan to cook...be advised there is no hot water in the kitchen. Also there is no freezer and no oven or microwave. Bed was good and balcony view was fabulous. Better be in great shape to carry your luggage up these stairs.

The views over the old town and ocean are postcard beautiful. Clean but smallish rooms, friendly hosts and good Wi-Fi.
The walk down the 400 steps to the Old Town is ok, but coming back late at night in the dark you can get easily lost.
Big suitcases not recommended -104 stairs from road to room.
Pack light and treat it as great exercise because the views are worth it.

When can I go back

We had a wonderful time staying here, zrinka was so welcoming and helpful. The room was big and comfortable with a full size fridge, hob, kitchen sink, and dining table. The real win is the balcony and view of the old city and lokrum which is spectacular. The stairs are a bit of a killer but that's just part of Dubrovnik's charm. Would definitely stay here again and strongly recommend you do too

The best view in town! Cannot beat it though you have to pay for it with the walk up to the apartment (over 400 steps up!) so would not recommend for the unfit! The room was very clean, included aircon, fridge and private balcony.
The hosts were very nice, made recommendations for our visit and were very accomodating to us arriving early and leaving our luggage after check out. Would recommend!

Zrinka (the owner) is an amazing host. We had drinks in the fridge on arrival and she helped us with our luggage and gave us all the information we needed. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment, which catered for all our needs. The view over Dubrovnik is simply stunning! The only down side is the steps to the property from the old town area. We were a group of 2, aged 39 and 66 and they were killer! We only went out for one dinner at the old town and on that day we took a taxi back from the beach during the day and also after dinner (cost is between £7-12) because we knew we wouldn’t want to do the steps again. However, I would still return and stay at this property again!

The view is amazing. Enjoyed balcony, a.c., WiFi & Accommodations. While the stairs & climb up to property took 20 minutes from city gate. It was only 10 minutes down to city gate, if you are in physical condition to walk stairs, this place is fabulous. My husband & I are 67 & 72. Fair price. Host is very friendly. Highly recommend. The challenge is luggage.

Such a welcoming host and a lovely view

Arrived by bus from Split. It's a bit of a walk from the bus station at Pile gate - there is a bus station much closer, although I didn't know that initially. Worth looking up if you have a lot of luggage. The airport shuttle leaves very close to this location, so that's a big plus!

The hostess was super welcoming and helpful. When the WiFi went out I called her and it was fixed within minutes.

My room was impeccably clean, shower is nice and big, balcony is big and has an amazing view. The fast food place and the café on the street below are quite decent and very affordable.

Make no mistake - there are over 400 steps from the old town to the location. If you have knee problems, you should probably consider somewhere else. If not - it is very much worth it, the view is amazing!

Excellent location and Zarinka was very nice and responsive. Nightime it was quiet and we were there end Dec. The kitchen could use a bit more utensils and dishes. A bit of smoke permeated the place; not sure if it was the last tenant or a neighbor was smoking. Smoking is much more common in Croatia then we are used too and we found it annoying.
As others have stated, it's quite a walk up the stairs, only fit people should stay there. Loved the old city and found the distance between the guesthouse and the city to be a nice break with no need for taxi's/uber.

Don’t underestimate the amount of stairs.

The view is fantastic, but I’m not sure all the stairs are worth it. The owners are kind enough to carry your luggage for you, which helps, and they offer pick up/drop off for the airport for an additional fee, which is also great, but the stairs are a real hassle, especially at night.

Lovely guesthouse with a fabulous view from the terrace across the old town. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Room was a good size with nice furnishings and a comfortable bed. There are tables and chairs on the terrace to sit out an enjoy the view.
Getting to the property does require walking up a lot of steps however the view was more than worth it for us. If you struggle with stairs though then I would be cautious: a taxi can only drop you at the nearest road which is still about 20+ steps from the property.
Overall highly recommend if you are okay with stairs!

Wonderful stay. Zrinka was very welcoming and immediately made us feel at home. The room itself was very clean, comfortable, modern/updated, and had one of the best views of Dubrovnik from the balcony. We loved enjoying breakfast and dinner there whether while watching the sun set or the storms roll in. Highly recommend.

Oh, be aware that there are indeed many many steps to get to the apartment, but if you are in decent shape you'll be fine. We didn't have any issues. The benefit is that you'll have incredible views and no tourists around you. Also, the steps lead directly to one of the dates to where the old city, which is quite nice.

Amazing view, but you earn it

Like others have said this is a very steep climb up to get to. I did not realize how far from town it would be. Be sure to bring water/food/whatever because there is no nearby store to quickly run to. There was no bottled water in room, and tap water depends on rainfall so bring water.
Our room was new and clean, but very, very small. Think cruise ship size room, bathroom and tiny shower. We had twin beds, and in order to split them up, needed to move the bedside table to the balcony! Owners very helpful and nice, views outstanding.

Fantastic views, welcome host!

Zrinka was amazing, made us feel really welcome and was incredibly helpful - even offered to book our transfer back to the airport when it was time to leave and gave us an overview of the best locations in the town. There were a few snacks and drinks waiting for us in the apartment upon arrival also! The location is stunning, yes as everyone says the stairs are a lot to handle, but the view at the top is really worth it and it gets easier day by day. Had a great time here!

We absolutely loved the terrace that overlooked the gated city and sea! The host,Zrinka, was very kind and gave us tips. She was available every time we were in need of her. We stayed in her studio apartment and it was perfect for 2 people. Air conditioner worked great, she had instant coffee, and 2 guest beers upon arrival.
I did read that there were a lot of steps to apartment.I love a good workout, but for those that can not do all the stairs, book a ride from the airport to her place so that you are not wondering around with all your luggage.This city is on a mountain side and everywhere above the gated city is straight up stairs.
Your driver will drive you to the bottom of her stairs and you will still have quite a hike up with your luggage. I believe there is Uber and taxi's that can bring you from the city up to apartments bottom stairs when you are too tired to hike up all the stairs.We thought it was worth the stairs, because the terrace was so nice. We enjoyed having a drink on it every night and watching the city below. Highly recommend! Thanks Zrinka!!

I stayed here with my friend and we had the best time! The room was amazing, plenty of room and the balcony was perfect to sit out on and look at the amazing view. The hosts were so so lovely! They made us feel right at home and gave us so much information about the area we were in which was amazing. Very close to the old town and close to bus stops that take you everywhere. The only downside of the property were the hundreds of stairs you have to walk up each time but the view was worth it every time. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay very much here.

Zrinka was very helpful to us during our stay and even helped with luggage up the 75 steps to our room. Thanks so much. BUT To get to entrance of old town, there were 399 stairs which there was no way we could walk up so took expensive cab to bottom of 75 stairs which is as far as they could go. View was very nice from main terrace but otherwise, we were disappointed. Our \"studio with terrace\" was very old, drab and crowded. Badly needs an update. We noticed no pics of our room were posted online so we were shocked when we entered. Our terrace overlooked weed filled veggie garden, towels were rough, everything was uncomfortable in the room from sofa to chairs. Patio chairs were ok. I've view other reviews and noticed one saying modern but we did not see any trace of that. I'm sorry to leave this review but feel we look to a review to be honest. The amount per night does not fit or reflect what our room was. Not good value for money. Only poor experience we had on our 40 day European vacation.

The view was amazing!!!! There are 438 steps from old town to the hotel but it was worth it! You could uber from old town to the room which was like 20 kuna which currently translate to 3 dollars USD. The host was amazing and very helpful!

The view was the best view EVER! No need to trek around Dubrovnik for better when it is right on your balcony!

The room has a view that is priceless! When I say priceless, I mean you couldn't imagine a better location to sit on a balcony and overlook the Old Town! Cool Sea breeze, shade from the intense sun, etc.

The room is spotless and looks newly renovated. The AC is cold and keeps you comfortable. Your host is so warm and friendly making you feel like you've come home to visit family. She is genuine and authentic through and through.

Now those stairs to get to the room.....you should consider yourself moderately fit in order to run up and down them at least twice a day. Nearly 400 of them each way to and from Old Town which does become a factor going to and from your room. Totally worth the effort in my opinion.

Breathtaking Views and An Amazing Host

We have just come back from a four night stay here. The views of the Old Town/sea are out of this world! The host was amazing - really felt welcome and would go again to the same place - the price was really cheap for such a nice room. I felt safe and the room was clean, tidy and modern. The bathroom was clean and the shower warm! Free WiFi and towels/shampoos etc provided. They even let us borrow beach towels and looked after our case for us until it was time to go for our flight. There are a fair few steps to get up to the property but well worth it for the views alone (most places in this area will require steps so don't let this put you off).

Lovely clean bright room with private bathroom. Balcony with table and chairs. Such a stunning view. The night we arrived we decided to get a take away and eat, overlooking the city and sea. The steps leading to the property are quite a challenge, even moreso with bags It would not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties

Amazing View - Well Worth The Climb!

We loved this room, it was perfect for a couple for a few days- the balcony view was just breathtaking! The location was quiet and convienient for the old town (do be prepared for the steps- they go on and on, but don’t be put off!)

If we visit Dubrovnick in the future, we’d definitely stay here again.

Not the easiest place to find but other than that excellent. The owner is really friendly and happy to suggest restaurants etc. All her suggestion were spot on. Lots of steps to the old town but other than that excellent location. The front room could do with better blinds to stop light coming in first thing. I would definately stay here again.

Very basic but in a city as pretty as Dubrovnik who needs luxury? , landlady is very friendly, views are stunning.

Be warned though, the property is half way up the very steep hill with about 200+ steps between it and the Old Town, unless you're a mountain goat then make sure you're fit!

Nice people, very helpfull and the terrace is great for breakfast and watching the sunset over Dubrovnik old town. There are a 3 long flights of steps to the Old town. The nearest supermarket is at the bottom of the 2nd set of steps. Excellent restaurants in old town is a 15 minute walk downhill. Loads to see and do and a must is a visit to Lokrum Island which is 10 minutes on a boat and truly stunning.

Know that Dubrovnik is located on a mountain and expect a climb back to your apartment. Stairs are inevitable.
Our host was absolutely wonderful and friendly and Zrinka went out of her way to help us with our additional arrangements.

Not sure what negative things can be said about this place. The views are absolutely breath-taking of the ocean and the old town. We woke up every day and had breakfast on the terrace and always had wine for the sunset before going out for dinner. No need to catch the cable car to the top with this view.

Beautiful views of the Old City, but it is a very steep climb up 2 sets of long stairs to reach the apartment from the Old City. There was no TV reception although there appeared to be a satellite box--there was no signal. Perhaps it did work, but instructions should have been provided then.
The kitchenette was well furnished.

Great views and location - would highly recommend

I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation as the host was most welcoming. Sightseeing advise and maps were provided on arrival as well as some beer and fruit juice that had been left in the fridge for our arrival. The room is just outside the city walls of Dubrovnik so you can be in old town in less than a 10 minute walk. I enjoyed it so much here that I am already planning the next trip back to this beautiful city.

Great View, Drab Room, Hard to Find

We made the mistake of trying to drive to this property, and Google Maps has the address wrong. Be aware that it is even hard to find on foot. The street is a walking street only, and driving around there is challenging. However, this wasn't the fault of the managers, and they were easy to contact and to reach for check in.

The location is very nice, just outside the old town with a great view, but the many stairs (which don't really bother us) could be a challenge for some. The room is sort of drab and outdated and, although clean, needs a lot of updating, especially the bed, bedding, and bathroom fixtures. But if you will be outside exploring most of the day, this won't be too important. The A/C was a little old and noisy.
