Although I booked a room advertised as a suite, it was a tiny studio room with no closet, no place to hang clothes, no place to put 2 suitcases on the floor. Breakfast was not included as I saw in the review.
When asked about the 14 euro credit per day toward a tour for a VIP booking, the hotel staff said Hotels.com would give me a refund of 56 euros instead which I haven't seen. I don't recommend this place, falsely advertised as a 4-star suite room.

Full disclosure, it is an excellent location in a fascinating city and is very clean. I would have liked to be able to give more stars but two things kept me from it. First there were no amenities. Only bath wash in bathroom, no shampoo, conditioner, no tissues nothing. Secondly, I understand it is UNESCO city and cannot alter structures and that is OK but we were on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. Would have liked to have known that prior to booking.

We liked this hotel for its perfect location in the city. Our room was small but clean. I would have to note that we were staying over a weekend and the club across the alley from us was super loud until about 230 in the morning on Friday and Saturday. Just to keep that in mind when booking.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of old town Dubrovnik! Great communication prior to check in and smooth check in process. Room a little warm as we were on the top floor but totally understandable given a heat wave in Europe. Breakfast was amazing and brought to your room with a coffee drink of choice was superb! Amazing place and location

Super easy check-in. Lots of info from Edi and Alen. We opted for the airport pick and it went great. Car was waiting for us when we arrived just make sure they drop you off at the Pile gate. Room was as expected and lots of hot water and amenities were as described. Breakfast was brought to our room (plus), and it was instagram worthy, amazing presentation. There was some noise from the bars downstairs, so if you’re a light sleeper, you may want to pass, but we didn’t mind the noise as we went down and joined in on the fun.

It’s all about location! We didn’t realize that we wouldn’t have the ability to get dropped off at front door so we had to haul our luggage through Old Town. Thankfully Allen came out to help from hotel and carried 2 bags for us - huge help! The hotel is a no frills option with just one person working desk and very small entryway. The condition of the room was very good and the included breakfast was excellent - brought to your room in the morning at your requested time. We were steps away from all the historical sites and so many great restaurants and shops. Make sure you book porter service for your bags through Baggage and Smile - well worth it!!! Hotel was very noisy at night due to nightlife in the plaza. If you want a great location at reasonable price compared to other hotel offering, you will be happy with this selection - just do some prep work to make your experience more enjoyable!!’ Earplugs a must.

Located in old town Dubrovnik, the hotel is within walking distance to all the sights. The staff was very helpful. They helped us with providing directions to sights, kept our luggage with them when we went away for a couple of days to other towns, and carried our luggage up to our room (one to the 4th floor and then the 1st floor (on our second visit) - as there is no elevator available (as it is a heritage property and structural changes are not allowed). The breakfast was excellent and arrived at the time we had requested to our room (the hotel does not have a dine-in place). We felt the hotel was expensive, but that may be a small price to pay for the location it is at.

Nice location in old town. Keep in mind to bring your own toiletries! They are right across the street from a loud pub that has strong music playing and loud crowds until 1 or 2am so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Also no stairs. It's nice there's a full kitchen and a couch area.

Short two days stop with my parents. Location is perfect. Our room was on the top floor, and very comfortable (light, space). My parents' room on the second floor was smaller and very dark, but yeah... this is a room on the second floor in a building located in the middle of the old city! So... Normal. Just be aware that the light you see on the pictures of the rooms on the web (as well as the size of the room or the design of the walls for instance ).. is not what you may get. We had no balcony or brick walls... so obviously the pics may not show what you will get. If you are travelling with people with mobility difficulties... make sure you get a room in a lower floor... no elevator and it's pretty intense stairs. Last thing... it was a honey moon trip for my parents, I had written to the hotel to let them know. While other hotels in Croatia let them a message and even a gift, my message was just ignored. BUT: the hotel is great, and staff friendly. So go ;-)

Sold 4* option in the old city just off the main street with character. Nicely appointed room with a kitchenette. Only negative was a slight odor in the room which they tried to cover up with cleaning aromas. Not horrible - just slightly unpleasant. Wouldn’t cause me to stay elsewhere. Short walk to 2 main gates to the old city which is flat. But the hotel does not have an elevator so stairs are required inside.

Small quaint hotel right in the middle of Old Town Dubrovnik. Clean. Very small balcony but too hot to even have the door open. Had one torrential rainstorm for almost 12 hours and the roof then leaked. No damage done but it could have had we had our suitcase in the water drop area cause it stained the white towels from the varnish on the wood beams. Hopefully they have fixed the problem.

OK Stay in Dubrovnik

Scalini Palace was mediocre. The best quality about this property was that is a 10 second walk to Stradun which is where many of the sights in the Old Town Dubrovnik are located. They also deliver breakfast to your room every morning to start your day. The down sides…the room was smaller than anticipated but included a kitchenette, the noise from outside was exceptionally loud on the weekend, towels were rough and tired, and frequently ran out of hot water. Overall the property is OK and I’d stay again to be in that perfect location. A small tip is that cars can’t drive to property so to avoid carrying luggage up and down many stairs, ask your taxi/Uber to drop you off at Pile Gate to avoid all stairs.

Breakfast delivery EXACTLY st 8am - superb & very tasty and clearly cooked a few minutes earlier.

Location of hotel was unbeatable and such good value for money.

Outdsde noise from bustling historic side walkway below easily muffled out by closing the very effective founle glazed window, but leaving open was delightful listening to other people enjying life.

Nice local hotel, smack in the center of the old town. Nice staff. It's not as a great as the photos suggest. No balconies, you are looking at the adjacent wall. If you come with luggage, beware. Parking is 15 minutes away minimum. The recommended parking garage ripped us off. Not the hotels fault but I ask them to never recommend this again. They charged 304 EUR instead of the adversities 80 EUR for less than two days parking. Very bad feeling leaving Dubrovnik. Generally the city is now overpriced. We won’t come back for a while.

We loved our visit to Dubrovnik . City is buzzing and friendly lovely staff everywhere .
Hotel was relaxed and mini apartment room at 4 th floor. .
Do not get dropped of at the Buza Gate wrong gate into city as there is very large stairs down to street all the way to the to bottom . Ask taxi to take you to Pile or Ploce gate .
Hotel staff and convience to everything from their hotel level is superb.

This was a great hotel. Location was wonderful - in the city center. There is not an elevator - would you expect one in this old city? Front desk staff was helpful. helped carry our luggage up to our rooms. We did get our exercise going to and from our rooms, but this could be said for the entire city. If you expected it to be flat walking, you didn't do any research about where you were going. Offered four breakfast choices and it was delivered to our room at a time of our choosing between 7 am and 10:30 am. When we had to leave for the airport before 7 am, they gave us ham and cheese sandwiches for us to eat the next morning. Our room had windows facing the alleyway so the noise from the Irish pub across from the hotel could be heard until about 1 am. Bring earplugs or a sound machine if noise bothers you. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

The property is lovely. Our room was the balcony suite (3rd floor room 5). Very happy with the room - kitchenette with everything we needed. Breakfast was good and delivered right to the room which we enjoyed out on our balcony. Only disappointment was something the hotel isn’t responsible for which was an absolutely annoying upstairs guest. They walked around their room (stomping) all hours of the night (stopped around 1AM) and started back up again at 4AM. Had I been more confident I would have gone up to the room and requested they stop but since the hotel front desk isn’t there in the evenings I wasn’t comfortable confronting another guest. Some reviewers complain that you must take steps, it’s a beautiful old building, steps weren’t that bad. The location cannot be beat!!!!

It was a little bit of a challenge to find, but the staff were so helpful it made it acceptable (make sure you have WhatsApp on your phone, extraordinarily helpful in these situations where you're lost trying to find your hotel.) Keep in mind you're staying in the old city, and there are no elevators, and often a lot of cobblestones and stairs to negotiate. Luckily, my partner and I are reasonably fit so this was not terribly challenging
However, the front desk person met us at the top of the stairs (about a 120 steps down) and took one of our bags to the hotel lobby where we checked in. Our room was up on the top floor. Again, no elevator, the front desk gentleman took one of our bags up to the top. He would have taken all of them, but I was adamant that I could carry them. Great location! Highly recommend. If you are interested in exploring the old city, can't beat this place.

No elevators within the World Heritage site, so, if steps are a problem, get a room on a low floor or stay outside the Old Town.

This is a pleasant, clean boutique hotel with friendly staff in a great location right in the middle of the old. It has eight rooms and we booked what is the best room which is the top floor \"Deluxe Suite\" with balcony.

The room has character, is modern and tastefully furnished and has a kitchenette. The small balcony (and it is very small) has nice views across the rooftops of the old town.

However, I've given the hotel just an \"average\" rating overall as there were a few things that don't reflect a 4-star hotel. For example breakfast was poor - brought to your room at a pre-arranged time (guests are asked to book and pre-order the day before from a fixed menu, I ordered the option that supposedly included baccon & egg but the whole thing came was just a rather tasteless omlette whilst the fruit in my wife's cereal was still frozen), the lack of anyone at reception much of the time and no facility to help with luggage even if you book their own airport car transfer meaning (in our case) having to haul heavy suitcases through the busy old town in very hot weather (other hotels at least have a luggage trolly to loan guests) so, in my view it did not represent 4-star quality overall and was not good value (we paid over £300 for one night).

Scalini Palace was beyond my expectations. Normally the pictures are not an accurate reflection of the location, but in this case, I was much more impressed than I had anticipated. The setup was amazing, with all the amenities I could need. The kitchenette had everything I needed, the bed was comfortable and the location was nothing less than perfect, The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. Not only would I stay here again, but I would recommend to anyone asking for a suggestion

Absolutely loved this accommodation! In the heart of Old Town Dubrovnik where you can easily walk everywhere. The staff was fantastic and very helpful. They kept in constant communication and provided great recommendations. The Deluxe room was wonderful with a great balcony view of Old Town. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was really nice. The decor was added great ambience and the entire hotel was spotless. Thank you for a memorable and comfy stay!

Perfect for exploring Dubrovnik

Scalini Palace is a quaint hotel down a side street in Old Town Dubrovnik. It is a perfect base for exploring Dubrovnik. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean. My only complaint is that I would say that the duvet was too small for the bed.

We enjoyed our stay at Scalini Palace. We were worried when we read some of the other reviews but found they were exaggerated.

The breakfast was tasty and always arrived to us warm; there was some noise (this can only be expected in a city centre hotel) but the windows shut the vast majority of the noise out and our room was quiet; there are a few flights of stairs in the hotel but it’s in a historic building so we wouldn’t expect a lift; the rooms are tastefully decorated; the kitchenette is perfect if you want to make lunch each day or make a small evening meal; the cleaners were friendly and left the room clean each morning.

This hotel is very centrally located and it was great to be able to pop in and out if we needed to when we were exploring the city.

Top tip - if you get the transfer bus from the airport, enter the city through Ploce gate, rather than walking up the North Gate. This is a quicker route and means you can avoid carrying your luggage down lots of steps.

Such a cute property! If you book with a balcony there is a lot of steps but it is so worth it.it is right in the center of old town and great breakfast! Wonderful location and room

Nice enough, few issues.

When we got to the room it was a nice room, quite compact and only one small wardrobe so was hard to find space to put everything.

We used the shower and the bathroom flooded immediately, luckily I was able to pop to cover off the shower floor where I found a clump of hair clogging the drains, so I was able to remove that and have the water drain off.

The staff were lovely, and the complimentary breakfast was nice. The location was great it was just off the main street in dubrovnik old town. But if you have heavy bags the steps can be a bit of a nuisance.

If going here DO NOT use the buza gate, use the Pile or Puca gate to go into the town. Buza has about 200 steps down to the property

what I didnt like was the fact that in 2020 I booked and paid for an airport transfer through the hotel but when I rebooked this year I had to pay the driver again and no one
apparently had any knowledge of it and were not really prepared to do anything about. Other wise the hotel suited me perfectly and I was more than happy with it.

Scalini Palace is not a hotel but high-end rooming. It is 6 minutes walk from the Ploce Gate and situated off the Placa/Stradun, the central street in old town Dubrovnik. There is no porter service. But to the left of the Ploce Gate taxi rank is a private baggage transfer which will porter bags. It costs Kuna 150 for two bags. The hotel has no elevator and the rooms are located up steep stone staircases. The rooms are super clean - ours had a kitchenette which was well kitted out. The bathroom is small and has a leak-in shower. There are no toiletries supplied. The only towels provided are hand towel sized. The bed is double and large - King - and comfortable. It is noisy at night because of the close proximity to the bars and cafes on the Stradun. Our room had a tiny balcony with a table and two chairs - only accessible by the slim!
