Cet appartement est très bien situé dans le coeur de l’action. Le propriétaire très accueillant. Très très propre et lits ultra confortable. Entièrement piéton donc il faut amener notre valise à pied une quinzaine de minutes de la porte Pile. Si vous êtes dans l’appartement du bas on entend tout en haut, en espérant ne pas avoir des voisins bruyants ou couche-tard.

We had a wonderful stay here! We were four females traveling together and felt very safe and comfortable throughout our time. The space was the perfect size, and we truly felt like locals. One thing to note is that there are quite a few stairs in the area, and you should be prepared to walk for about 10 minutes with your luggage since cars can't access the old city. Overall, we had a lovely time and can't wait to return soon!

Our stay was perfect! We were met at the airport and escorted to our unit close to The Walk of Shame”. Our host gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. The unit was spotless and on a quiet corner tucked away from the crowds. I thought the unit upstairs might be noisy but aside from a few creaks in the floor, no issue!

This was an amazing property. Right in the heart of Dubrovnik. Great restaurants and architecture. Close walk to the Buzo Bar for afternoon drinks and swimming. Stjepo was fantastic to us responding quickly organizing transport, suggesting restaurants.

Modern amenities in a 400 year old building

We stayed in the upstairs unit of the Santa Maria. The 1st floor had a kitchen, a dining area, and a living area with a sofa and a TV. Upstairs was the bathroom and our bedroom. There were many windows both upstairs and down, which allowed us to get a fresh breeze anytime. The place was immaculately clean and everything worked. The bedroom has a slanted beamed ceiling, so you have to remember to duck when you walk around the bed. Our host, Stjepo, was terrific. He arranged for us to be met at the airport and driven to the gates of the old city. He rendezvoused with us there and walked us to the apartment. What personal service!

Outstanding apartment with an excellent host

An outstanding apartment located perfectly in Old Town. Stejpo is a wonderful host who met us at the apartment and gave us some amazing recommendations for our time in Dubrovnik. The apartment itself is located literally a minute away from the Jesuit Staircase (as made famous by Game of Thrones), and provides a perfect location to see all that Old Town has to offer. The apartment features a kitchenette (with dishwasher and hobs), a lounge area, dining room table, a wonderfully powerful shower, and an exceptionally large and comfortable double bed. We spent our holiday travelling through Croatia and genuinely felt this was the best place we stayed. We highly recommend this place, and we hope to stay again soon

Note: we stayed in the upstairs apartment. Looking at some of the photos on Google it is clear that the apartment has been renovated in the last couple of years, the photos from. 3 years ago do not represent the apartment in its current state, it's very bright and well designed

Great location - stay on top floor though!

The apartment was in a great location, right in the centre of old town Dubrovnik. The room was spacious and clean. The host was very friendly & helpful.
We were on the bottom floor of the apartment & Unfortunately because it's a very old building, every time the apartment above moved around their apartment the floor joists creeked and so did the floor boards. It was very loud & i still couldnt sleep even with ear plugs. It didnt help that the people staying above us returned home at early hours of the morning. So unfortunately we had 3 sleepless nights which was a shame because everything else was great. My advice is if you stay here, stay in the large apartment as its on the top floor.

The apartment was small but had everything we needed. We had to cancel and rebook like 3 times due to cancelled flights and Stjepo was very understanding. He was super helpful picking us up from the airport and telling us about Dubrovnik. He wanted us to pay in cash FYI, didn’t know that beforehand.

Perfect Location!

My friend and I loved our stay at Apartments Santa Maria! The host is amazing and accommodating! Made us feel safe and welcomed to Dubrovnik! He picked us up from the airport on time and got us to the apartment with a ton of extra information we learned about this amazing city! The apartment is a studio. Two twin beds, clean bathroom, and a kitchenette. The size was perfect for the two of us. We didn’t feel we were on top of each other. Plenty of space and privacy with bathroom. For being right in “town” noise was minimal. We slept solid each night. Might hear the occasional cat fight (literal cats) but it’s part of the experience! You couldn’t ask for a better location either! I would stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting Dubrovnik!

Magical Dubrovnik

I highly recommend this apartment. It’s inside the magical old town of Dubrovnik where you can do all the tours and activities. The town is a walled fortress and your taxi from the airport will leave you at one of the gates. Then you have to walk a bit to the apartment and go up some steps. The apartment is highly upgraded and has every amenity that you may require. The owner of the apartment is a perfect gentleman and was very friendly, warm and helpful.

This place is right in the middle of the old city inside the wall. So everything is walking distance. Only word of caution is you have to walk to this place and no parking place if you are driving.

Basic and simple, not worth the money

The condition of the room is very simple and basic. Furniture is a bit old and cheap, and blankets are uncomfortable. Rubbish bins were not emptied during our entire two-night stay. Very low value for money.

There is a bit of climb up the stairs, would be difficult for people with limited mobility. Excellent budget-friendly choice in Old Town Dubrovnik.

Small like hotel room but big enough for 2 adults

Located in the old city not recommended for elderly or anyone not fit enough to walk stairs. Most of the 3 star accommodation is located on the sea side of th old city so many stairs. I would recommend this property to my friends . Thea who meet us at the property was fantastic they will help you with everything. They have a small fridge and kitchen facilities. Very clean . Good position. Would stay again. We were able to buy breakfast at supermarket and store in fridge which saved a lot of money.

Quiet and clean

The owner is friendly and cares about his visitors. We had the smaller, downstairs studio. The room was spotless. The bathroom looked brand new. Plenty of hot water.
The building is on a quiet centrally-located side street just one level up from town which makes a big difference. Some other apartments are way up steep stone stairs. You've been warned!

Great location in the old town. Very clean and good shower, only drawback was it was a little dark inside and although there was a window it was straight out onto the street so didn’t feel comfortable opening it with people passing and the lack of privacy. The owner was helpful and gave us some good tips about the area but maybe didn’t need to insist on changing our towels/bedding so often as we would have preferred to have been left alone. Would recommend for a few nights as excellent location and good value for money.

One night stay for family of 4

We stayed one night in Dubrovnik as a stopover before travelling on to Montenegro. We chose Santa Maria as it was in the city walls and the apartment didn't disappoint. It was central to everything and hidden away on a back alley, so quiet (apart from the 6am bells from the cathedral, but it added to the experience). There are amazing views of the old town from the top room. The owner was fantastic. He arranged an airport pick up for us, then met us at the old town gate to show us to the apartment (so we wouldn't get lost) and then showed us on a map things to do in Dubrovnik. He even told us how to get to the bus stop, to catch the bus to Montenegro. It was an effortless start to the holiday. I would highly recommend this apartment.

Quaint apartment in Old Town Dubrovnik

This apartment was perfect for our stay in Dubrovnik. We were graciously greeted and escorted from the city gate to our room by the apartment owner Stjepo. We unexpectedly arrived very late in the evening, so Stjepo walked us through town to help us find a meal. The 2 story apartment was comfortable and had the old town charm that we were looking for. The bedroom and bathroom on the upper level were clean, spacious, and had plenty of natural light. The main level had a dining room table, a living space with tv and sofa, and a kitchenette that was all spacious and bright. The sofa opened into a bed for another guest or 2 if needed. Stjepo was very accommodating and drove us to the airport for our flight home.

Location-Location-Location--Fantastic!

We stayed in the upstairs room of the 2 available units that had a separate living area and bathroom upstairs from the living room/kitchen. The owner's daughter picked us up at the airport for the same fee as a bus would have charged and got us to the Old Town Gate where her father met us to help us to the unit. No cars are allowed in the Old Town. The unit is historic, and has been nicely remodeled with fully functioning air conditioning, very fast WIFI and a location that is incredible. Couldn't ask for a better location or situation. The only negative is that payment can only be made in cash upon arrival, meaning carrying more cash than we would normally carry. Owner was agreeable to payment in Euro rather than Kuna which was great. Suggested things to see and do, and referred us to a self-serve laundry where we washed clothes for the remainder of our trip which still had 12 days to go. We stayed 3 nights, and really enjoyed it. We read some reviews that mentioned noise, and while we did hear some music school activity and people talking on the streets it was quite acceptable and would definitely stay again!

Thin Walls and Early Check-Out

It was nice to have a little kitchen, but the 10:00 am checkout, and the cash-only policy were pretty annoying. Also, there is a switch that turns off the hot water heater, and no one told us about this, so we went a morning without hot water. We stayed four nights and room wasn't made up for our last two days. Paper thin walls combined with everyone waking up early to check out at 10:00 am meant we were woken up by packing at about 8:00 am every day. We like to sleep in on holidays, especially in a party town like Dubrovnik, so the unwelcome human alarm clocks were very aggravating.

A Gem Right in the Middle of Old Town Dubrovnik!

The apartments were a bit tricky to locate, so definitely call the owner Stjepo in advance so he can meet you outside the Old Town & take you in. We did not, so after half hour looking for the place, we had to wait for another 20 min for Stjepo. But that was the only 'minus' of our entire stay. The owner was friendly and helpful. We only saw him once at check-in but he's only a phone call away with any questions or issues. The location can't be any better. We were only a few steps from the main squares. The apartment has fully equipped kitchen so this is a nice option for family. Bathroom is small (but I guess that's standard). I can't recommend enough this property. We definitely stay here again next time we're in Dubrovnik

The apartment I stayed in was a small, ground floor apartment in the Old City. The apartment is basic, but spotlessly clean and well maintained and was good value for a weekend. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked well, and there were warm blankets - needed in a stone cottage even in May. My host could not have been more helpful; providing a map, offering me ideas of places to visit and generally making me feel very welcome.

The apartment was quiet, even on Friday and Saturday night, and I loved hearing the singing from the music school next door. The church bells are very loud on Sunday morning.

Stjepo is an excellent host. He brought us from the Pile Gate right to our apartment - meaning there was never a problem locating the apartment. The apartment itself is great. It does everything you need it to do, and everything works great. The air conditioning, too, is excellent. The beds are comfortable, and the shower is always hot and flows not too slowly, either. Overall, we can thoroughly recommend staying here - and certainly plan to return here in the future at some time.

I stayed here for the location because it is inside the city walls. The air conditioner upstairs didn't work and when I emailed the owner for help, he never responded. Needless to say, all 3 of us slept cramped in the one bed downstairs because it was too hot upstairs.

Great location

This is a cute apartment, we were on the top floor. It was much more space then my husband and I would need. The location is amazing, just a block and a half from a main square. Easy to pop in and out throughout the day.
The couple little things I didn't like - first, there were two knives in the kitchen and both were incredibly dull (could hardly cut an orange) and second, because you are in old town things can be noisy. But the noise was a minor trade off for the great location. Because the streets and building are stone, noise travels well so in the late evening it was sometimes noise, but if you turn on the air conditioning it covers up the noise for the most part. Would define fly stay there again.

Superb location in the heart of the old city

Lovely little apartment. Was picked up at the aiport by the owner who was very nice and helpful. The location is amazing, right in the old city, and not up too many stairs. Great place to stay as an alternative to hotels, and being in the old city was great for walking, late night coffees then right up to apartment. Loved it and would stay there again.
The only thing I would add is have a portable electric heater for colder nights. I went early in the season (March) and the nights were chilly. There are air conditioners for warmers days. Otherwise very cute little place!

Perfect location for the Old Town

We really enjoyed our stay here. A great central location, and perfect base for the Old Town. Recommended that you take , the owner's, offer of a lift (no more than a taxi) as it would be difficult to find, and quite a walk into the no car zone. Also he is a great source of local information. The apartment was comfortable and had everything you would need, with the bedroom set in a cute loft.
