Do I return to the Marly?? Not sure

I have stayed at the Marly many times always for 5-10 nights. I was not happy with my mountain view room especially for 7 nights. I asked if any ocean view rooms were available but they said only for two nights. I think my room backed up to a school. Screaming kids all day. House keeping turns off AC so back to a warm room. Not fun!!! Went to the pool one day and completely ignored. Not even offered water let alone a menu. I asked for a late check out on Day 6 & they offered me two hours. 1 pm with a 9 pm flight to USA. I kindly said no thank you. Then today as I call to have my luggage collected they offer me a late check out. What a joke! On my way not sure I return to the Marly.

Wonderful, relaxing stay at The Marly

Loved our stay at The Marly.
Quirky hotel with a lovely rooftop pool and bar for guests in a fantastic location central to everything in Camps Bay. Perfect place to watch the sun set.
All staff were so friendly and accommodating in the hotel, bar and restaurants.
The spa is a must and one of the best massages ever.
Look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

Modern Boutique hotel

We enjoyed our stay here. Sitting on top of a shopping centre it seemed odd to start with but it reminded us of Mediterranean beach clubs. The staff were excellent and we had a great room looking to the sea. Breakfast was excellent as was lunch next to the little pool. There are many lovely restaurants for dinner in the evening.

Two night stay at Marly boutique hotel at camps ba

Hotel is located above a shopping mall which is not really mentioned and the ocean facing rooms are next to the busiest road and so can be very noisy .
The good points are :
1) lovely rooms .
2) The reception and staff in general at the hotel are very polite and friendly .

The bad points which I experienced on my two night stay :
1) Most disappointing was the service experience at breakfast which was extremely slow and disappointing on both occasions on my stay for example you would order your break fast tea which would come after a long time but they would bring no milk with the tea and by the time you got your milk delivery the tea had gone cold .
The breakfast was a menu breakfast not a buffet . Again the service was slow and again if you ordered toast it would come after a long time and then it would come with out the butter and condiments like jam and marmalade.,by the time you got these the toast had gone cold .
In my opinion the breakfast was poorly organised and delivered and for the price your paying you would expect better.

2) problem with my room cards for entrance in to your room would stop working.On my 2 day stay had to go to reception six times to get fixed which was frustrating and wasted a lot of time .

3 ) problem with shower as difficult to control temperature and the shower would not drain very well so would partially flood bathroom.

4) Poor quality sweets which really do stick to your teeth

Stunning hotel that although very central to Camps Bay feels like its hidden away above everything. We loved our stay there and could not speak highly enough about this place. The location is epic, the rooms were huge and modern, the amenities had all we needed, the rooftop restaurant and bar is stunning, the pool area quiet and super comfortable and first and foremost, the team and management were second to none from start to end, so friendly, helpful and genuine. 5 stars! We stayed further up the coast in our second week but returned for lunch on our last day in CT and the team treated us like we were still guests—wonderful.

The Marley is fantastic… once you figure out where to check-in. After a short climb through a parking garage and the retail center we found a beautiful comfortable room with an amazing view of the beach. Bonus points for many delicious dining options directly in the complex, Zenzero was a personal favorite. The bread and olive oil was some of the best I’ve had. I couldn’t hesitate to stay there again for a second if back in Cape Town or Camps Bay.

Honeymoon Stay- Marly Boutique

We stayed at the Marly Boutique Hotel for the first stop of our honeymoon. The hotel has a great location across from the beach and surrounded by so many shops and restaurants. It’s also close to the start of the hike for Lions Head. We walked to/from the hotel to do this hike. It’s also a short Uber ride in to downtown Cape Town. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and kind. They provided excellent customer service throughout our entire stay. The rooms were extremely clean and were very modern/well-decorated. We especially liked the towel warmer in the bathroom. The hotel also offers complimentary breakfast at the restaurant downstairs, which was very helpful to not have to plan out another meal while traveling. The breakfast was delicious and offered a great selection of breakfast food and beverage. This was an excellent way to kick off our honeymoon and we could not recommend this stop more. You must stay here when visiting Cape Town area.

Very expensive for what it is

Rooms were great, facilities for an expensive 5* are certainly sub-par. Could do with some TLC and the check-in / bookings department were super greedy.

Roof terrace has so much potential, but isn’t what you expect for a c.£500/night 5*.

OMG!!!!!!! I really don’t know where to start, but I’ll just say I NEVER WANTED TO LEAVE!!! The entire experience from booking to check out was absolutely PERFECT!!!

My flight was canceled causing me to miss a night, they were exceptionally understanding! It was my birthday and the staff treated me like nothing less than a King!!

The hotel is in the perfect location, views are absolutely stunning!! This is the most perfect hotel I’ve stayed anywhere in the world!!

The price we paid was not on par with what I expected and what we received. Extremely expensive and does not even include breakfast. I was expecting a fabulous room. This was a very average hotel room and didn’t even have a bath (the room is advertised with a bath). There was no mini bar, and the hotel skimps on tea and coffee in the room. It’s only saving grace is the sea view. Compared with other hotels we have stayed at in the area this is a rip off and not worth the money we spent.

Amazing location and stunning sea views; beautiful interior; really good food - the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had. The noise from the restaurants right below was loud - so just know it won’t be totally quiet at night. The big disappointment is that the rooftop pool was closed for one of the two days I was there - and it was a reason I booked it as had an international flight to wait for the next night. The hotel has no control over the wind - but it’s a common occurrence enough in Camps Bay that if the pool will be shut because it it, we should be alerted at time of booking to manage expectations - or make alternative plans.

Excellent location and the hotel was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and went out of there way to meet a high level of service.
We had an issue with plumbing in our room and the team tried hard to rectify. When it was not possible, they immediately moved us to another room and were extremely gracious in terms of recovery.

The Best place to stay in Camps Bay

The Marly Hotel was the best! Loved the location, restaurants, pool and most especially the staff. They greeted us daily and turned down our bed with water and chocolates by our bedside. On the day we went shark diving, they met us with a beach basket, towels and water for our day long trip. It was an absolute lovely experience. I would highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Marly. Marcelle and the front of house team provided impeccable hospitality. The rooms were gorgeous — we had an ocean front stay, and I could have just lived on our little balcony. Don’t miss out on the new rooftop pool, or a visit to the spa. My husband and I both got phenomenal Swedish massages that left us relaxed and ready to walk the beach! The restaurants onsite are top-notch, and the entire service team pitched in when my husband was ill one day of our trip. I can’t tell you how much their kindness meant, and I’ll definitely recommend The Marly to all our friends (or anyone looking for a great visit to Camps Bay!)

Camps Bay winner!!

My first time at the Marly was exceptionally good.
Lovely surroundings, amazing sea views and the loungers provide deep rest and relaxation while taking in the sunset and the views.
Although its on the main strip, sound isolation is very good and once you close your terrace door, the noise stays outside.
The rooms are done in such good taste with a fresh and crispy summer feeling. Extremely clean too.
Even though the pool and spa were not ready yet, I had a wonderful time here. I particularly like the lounge areas, comfortable and with a homely feeling to it with lots of books on Cape Town and Africa on the shelves.
The staff is very professional and friendly, always at hand for anything you need.
On my next trips to Cape Town this is where I will be staying!!!

The team at The Marly were so friendly and welcoming - we didn't want to leave (noting Marcella!). The bar Chinchilla on the same level as the pool is fantastic - especially for sundowners. The reception staff helped us with anything we wanted, to booking activities or searching for advice on hiking table mountain. The sea facing rooms have great balconies too. I would definitely recommend.

The absolute best hotel experience I’ve ever had! I stay at 4+ and 5 star hotels all over the world at least 15 times a year so that says a lot. The room was gorgeous and the staff made us feel as though we were family or friends coming to stay at an estate. Simply amazing. The food was excellent, the staff made sure we were on time for our appointments and went above and beyond to look after us. Every person was courteous and friendly. I can’t say enough about how amazing this place is. It’s a beautiful hotel with a small number of rooms which allows for the personal touch but from the moment you arrive and the manner in which you are greeted you soon realize it’s the exceptional people (Marlene especially) that makes your experience here so great!

The hotel is not really a hotel

This place has a single corridor with bedrooms, a sitting area then a reception desk and one lady on duty. The floor above is offices and floor below is franchised, external restaurants. No bar area. The pool is actually 2 by 3 metres with a raffia wall at the side to separate from one of the restaurants. no sea view there. The rooms are fine and have good balconies. All the 'extras' are however totally standard anywhere e.g. wi-fi, hairdryer, so nothing at all extra. The bathroom however has a sliding door on a runner so absolutely no noise privacy. No concierge i.e. no detailed local knowledge. When we asked question they looked up google or told us 'it's not possible'. There is no ambiance and if you want a place where you see no-one else, this is it. Breakfast is in the franchised street cafe below - nice enough

Fabulous!

The Marly Hotel far exceeded my expectations - the location was great in Camps Bay right across from the beach with a wonderful selection of restaurants an elevator ride away. The hotel had beautiful charm about it that was just beautiful. I was travelling solo for my 40th birthday and the hotel made an extra special effort for my birthday which was so lovely :) The staff were so accommodating offering to go above and beyond to make my stay special. I will be staying here again (hopefully for much longer) on my next visit.

Wonderful boutique hotel with great beach views

The boutique hotel was beautiful. The have a really nice cafe on the street level that is open to public and we were very surprised to see that our stay included breakfast from the cage everyday. We basically went to the cafe, told them what room we were staying at and got amazing breakfast for the menu (whatever we liked to order) free of charge. The staff was wonderful. They made our dinner reservations both night and had great recommendations. They even booked a wine tour for us during our stay at a different hotel in a different part of town and held on to our extra luggage while we took a 2-day trip across the country for a safari.

The entire staff at The Marly was excellent! From the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff, everyone went out of their way to ensure a great stay at the Marly. Everyone was friendly, knowledgable about Cape Town and what to see and do and courteous when questions were asked. A visit to Cape Town is enhanced when you stay at The Marly.

The staff were nice and helped me printed out some documents I needed. The food was okay not fantastic cost about the same as the US. Two problems I had with the hotel:
1. The hotel is doing extensive construction to expand the floor but did not inform customers prior to booking. I had the sea-view suite but it felt more like c construction site
2. There were little flying bugs in the room (not sure where they came from) Its prob environmental since it's so close to the water but ewww gross.. they would land on my food whenever I ordered room service.

The room is great, parking is free, breakfast at a coffee shop with limited options, hotel sign is not clear so we had to ask someone about how to get there, service is excellent, location near by the shore with excellent view.

I have never visited South Africa, but was very excited to attends a friends wedding. Had come across the hotel by chance, fell in love with the pictures at first; and was impressed by the reviews - booked straight away through Expedia.

From the get go there was a clear gap in communication and the hotel was very difficult to get in touch with. Emails were not answered, Instagram messages were ignored and in the end, the only way to get in touch with the hotel was via a friend who lives in South Africa calling them directly. It was actually approaching a month before anyone got in touch.

When payment was made, receipts were not issued (these had to be requested) and overall before even arriving, I felt uncomfortable about our upcoming stay. Staff were unapologetic and extremely blasé about the lack of customer service.

Unfortunately one day before travelling, the trip had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. Staff were very unsympathetic and although I didn't expect a full refund, I requested for the booking to be transferred to another date - after a number of feeble excuses, this was refused so in the end our suite which we had paid for in full was wasted and again the staff were unapologetic. Having worked in management and being the owner of a business, I know there are circumstances where discretion is applied. No such thing with the Marly.

Although I will get my chance to visit South Africa at some point in the future,

An overpriced and most perculiar hotel

The initial impression is that it is an attractive hotel with nice rooms. However, the reality is that there are no communal areas, so no atmosphere. The pool area stinks of fried food from the restaurant extractor fans below, they buzz throughout the day. You are effectively staying in a corridor of rooms off a car park at vast expense.

Amazing holiday mostly because of the location and quality of the hotel. Located on the beach road in Camps Bay, uninterrupted sea views if you book the sea facing rooms, very close proximity to public transport including the red bus tours and at least seven different restaurants within 200 to 300 meters either side of the hotel.

My teenage daughter and I recently stayed at The Marly. The hotel was perfect in every way. Great location and very safe. Attached to amazing restaurants and across the street from a gorgeous beach. Even saw whales swim in the bay. Very easy to get to cable mountain. The staff was very friendly so helpful in every way. From arranging packages to be sent home to dropping off something for me at the rental car company. Perfectly safe location and easy access to everything. 5 star all the way.

Beautiful Hotel across from Beach

Superb service and location. I loved it!! This is a small hotel with 7 or 8 rooms that is perfect for Cape Town. It is in Camps Bay and the location is perfect for everything you want to do. The staff was so good I can't describe it better. You won't make a mistake with this hotel.
