Room was clean, we had all the essentials. We were just a small walk to the beautiful beach and good dining. We took city busses, and the stop was just in front of our hotel. Front desk attendant was VERY helpful, friendly and kind.

Awesome beach vacation

Onetangi Bay was a spectacular end to our trip; the beach is stunning with several nice restaurants along the waterfront. We had a third floor apartment with a balcony overlooking the Bay and it was really fantastic. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Overall a 5 star experience.

We booked a courtyard studio last minute for a spur of the moment trip to Waiheke. So we weren’t expecting much. We were very pleasantly surprised. The room was modern, clean and stocked with all the basics. The property is right at the bus stop, 1/2 block from the beach, next door to the coffee shop and around the corner from the restaurants. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Disappointing stay

We were pretty surprised by the room we ended up in versus the beautiful photos online and the high reviews. We were in an old section of this property that seemed like a run down, dated apartment block. The walkway looked out to the sewage effluent piping. There were major stains in the carpeting and some things in disrepair.

The location is great but it fell far short of what we expected from the online photos and reviews.

Courtyard apartment was disappointing.
Very small bathroom, shower and toilet close together in a small tight room.
TV did not work, even when we followed the instructions.
Opened the window to let some air into the room and it wouldn't close (needed to push it from the outside to close) broken shutter on the door, iron cord damaged. Overall poor maintenance and up keep.Im unsure what the other apartments are like but i wouldn't stay there again.

These apartments are across the street from the beach, which is beautiful. The room was lovely. No microwave oven. The washer in the laundry provided did not spin our clothes, so they took a long time to dry. People here are great and made good referrals to us for things to do and places to see, including a driver/guide to take us all over the eastern part of the island, which is beautiful and wonderful. We had a great time!

Encountered issue with the booking where expedia allowed for four adults to be booked and the property was not able to cater for this. The property did not provide any solutions due to peak booking period and ended up sleeping on the floor without a matress.
Neither expedia nor the property took ownership of this, nor did the property advised Expedia. Followups were difficult with requests from Expedia seeking proof. Be careful when booking here and I hope this message is not deleted so people are aware and not stranded on an island particularly as we had our return ferry a few days after arrival and there was no availability to return to mainland any earlier.

The best thing about the property is the proximity to the beach. The property itself is rundown, the beds (especially the pull out couch) are horribly uncomfortable. Air con is only in the bedrooms so the main area gets hot. The room was not ready when we arrived at their check-in time.

But the beach across the street is amazing and there are great restaurants in walking distance. The place itself was just not as nice as we expected based on the pictures.

Great location. Nice room. Not value for money. Storm caused power and water outage, no problem with this, things happen, but to be charged for bottles of water when no drinking water Available in the room I thought for price of the room was disappointing. No apology was given for the inconvenience of no power and water in the room for most of the day. I would not stay here again as I cannot justify the price sadly. Equivalent price would get you 5* hotel room and breakfast in Europe. This accommodation was 3* with no breakfast. Essentially paying for location to the beach on Waiheke.

Fantastic place to stay in a great location, right by the beach. And good for transport in from the ferry as well, one bus (50A or 50B) takes you directly to and from the hotel, bus stop is right outside and they run every 15 mins. Fantastic spot, a little gem. The rooms could do with AirCon on hot summers days, and interiors are a little dated but thats all part of it's charm. Lovely place to stay and the girl on front desk was amazing, so friendly, helpful and kind. Totally brings a smile to your face and makes your day :)
