We were not prepared for how steep the property was having not visited Waiheke before but it was a lovely unit and the bed was the most comfortable one we'd had! Shower pressure was poor and fridge didn't allow enough room for our own items, but enjoyed our stay.

Unfortunately, the photos on the website are misleading. When we played mini golf we noticed a run-down bar, and a 'dump' corner full of the golf carpeting, fencing, and other rubbish. The private spa pool that you are required to book and pay for is not private, it is located next to the pool with a small fence that slightly covers the area. Our room was okay, but we noticed lots of overgrown weeds outside and throughout the steps leading to the room. Our duvet inner was yellow and brown stained, same with the pillows. Our shower had some mould in the corner.
And unfortunately, the food was very average. We ordered breakfast, and the eggs were covered in this bright yellow & thick sauce that I am assuming was supposed to be hollandaise sauce, it tasted like it was poured out of a can ... not very pleasant. We won't be staying again.

This is a location for someone with a car or youthful energy. Steep hill up to resort and another to get to reservation desk. Units can have steep long steps down and up again. Advisement of meals available, but not while we were there. Room was clean. Service staff were great. Responsive to requests was slow.

Staff were very friendly and responsive. Room was very clean, spacious and had a gorgeous view. The food at the restaurant was fantastic and the pool was amazing with a beautiful view of Palm Beach. Would definitely stay here again. Although if you have mobility issues I would suggest getting there by car or a taxi as there is a substantial incline to reception and stairs to get to rooms. But well worth the workout!

The one staff member we saw was very nice. But this place should not call itself a resort. It isnt near anything, the rooms have no AC, nothing was open for the vast majority of the time we were there. They said they had a shuttle service but it was just them calling a taxi which we had to pay for. The resort and rooms had no walkway to get to, just an extremely steep road that made us dread going back. They had a very small pool but even with a few people it became not enjoyable. Renting a shack on a hill thats near a pool is not a resort.

Great 2 night stay. Beautiful views and a quick walk to Palm Beach. The room was tidy and compact. The kitchen had the basic neccessities to make a small meal. The on-site pool and restaurant looked lovely. Wifi performed reasonably. GIven it was a low season, there were only a few of us. They could have spaced us out to give everyone a bit of privacy
But other than that, neighbors were fairly quiet and music not too loud.

Decent little chalet - clean with basic amenities. A but musty, recommend a dehumidifier! Not well placed for anyone without a vehicle and cabs are pricey so make sure you book an excursion to get around. Staff were pleasant and breakfast at the restaurant was good. Would stay here again.

Sadly we were unable to stay at this property as the room we had been allocated was only accessible via very steep streets, pathways and many stairs. When we explained we had an elderly parent with us who relied on a walker and could they change the unit we were shown two other options that were equally unsafe for a person with mobility issues. There was nowhere that said this accommodation was on a steep hill. We asked for a refund, even going to say that we would accept one night rather than the full amount and this was refused because of policy. We arrived at the accommodation and they were unable to provide a room fit for service, so I beleive their stance on this situation was extremely poor.
We must however compliment Ashley, she did her very best to help us, she did try to contact the manager, but he did not pick up and he has not made any effort to contact us since.

We clearly booked a twin room with two single beds, but on the morning of our check-in day, the hotel called us and said they had not been informed by Expedia and that we would be charged an extra $15. If that was the case, why give us the option to choose it at the time of booking?

That part was quite disappointing, but aside from this, the hotel itself was clean, well-maintained, and the view was great.

The access to the room was down multiple very very steep steps. When booking it indicated breakfast was included, however a sign outside the (closed) reception advised the restaurant was closed on a Monday (we stayed Sunday night). The key was left in a box, and we had to climb a huge number of stairs to return the key in the morning. Some basic things like soap for the hand basin would have been nice. A box of tissues would also be nice.

Waiheke Island Resort is really a nice play to stay. This was not our first time that we stayed there, and we will come again and again.
Absolutely perfect place, strongly recommended.

One comment for property maintenance: please punch down all nails on wooded deck that are sticking out. It is not safe to walk bare feet on the deck.

Bus stop right outside for easy access.

Great use of the pool and easy parking. Comfortable bed and black out curtains. Couch however was disgusting full of stains that we actually had to put the cushions down to sit on them. The floor is needed for a good hot water mop. No hand soap. There were plates but unfortunately no bowls. Only spent one night there so did not bother chasing up after all this. But overall accom is nice, great location. Comfortable bed and easy check in and great use of pool. Just need thorough cleaning.

We were upgraded from the Short Stay room to the Scenic Studio which was such a lovely start. Beautiful driveway and walk up to the resort. Check in and checkout super easy. The pool and deck area is lovely to sunbathe in. Our room was quite nice and comfortable. Only negative was the cleanliness which could be improved slightly. Some brown marks on the ceiling and dust bunnies hanging around, the cutlery and cups were a bit dusty and water stained. Overall though, the room was nice (could do with some modernising) and we loved the balcony.

Not ideal to be downstairs as guests on the floor above walk & drag chairs over the floor so noisy.!
Reception never answer their phone so hard to get any communication unless close to reception area .
The bed was comfortable enough.Pillows can be improved on . It’s very steep on the stairs between the units so a little difficult with heavy bags…
I would stay here again on an upper floor. Very handy to Palm beach & Arcadia & store.

Stumbled upon this and couldn't have picked a better spot. Beautiful grounds and amazing food on site! The hotel is up on a hill but within walking distance to a beach 10 minutes away. We also rented e-bikes on site to travel around the island.

Really enjoyed our stay here! Be prepared to get your steps in if you’re planning to be going around the resort. It’s a hike to get from our room to the reception haha.
We played mini golf and had dinner, really generous portions, everything comes out quickly and tastes good. The rooms are cleaned in the afternoon as they have alot of places to clean. There’s smart tvs in the room. They have laundry which is $5 ($1 coin) each for washing and dry. Then $2 coin for detergent.

Negatives: unit above not managed by property and guest stomped, scrapped chairs, banged cupboards etc for hrs at night, did not answer door when went up and knocked, called the number on the unit it said to call, no answer and reception was closed, said guest woke at 7am same noise on a Saturday. Resort is empty so unsure why they’d place a paying guest below a unit occupied by an external company.

Waiheke Island Resort was a dream to stay at. The location is absolutely perfect! The villas were a good size, clean and comfortable.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The only down side is that the resort isn't entirely accessibly friendly as it has quite steep slopes and stairways.

My mum has a walking stick and was slightly daunted by the pathways, however the staff went out of their way to assist her to ensure her stay was comfortable and safe. It didn't help that we went during the wet season, which made things harder - but as previously mentioned - the staff are gold!

I would recommend staying here if you're looking for a little get away with breath taking views and great customer service.
