It’s good for the price but it is an older hotel. The aircon only just kept up with keeping the room cool when it got really hot outside. Nights cooled down so it was good for sleeping. The drains struggled too, the toilet didn’t flush effectively and the sink would back up. The staff were lovely, the pool was nice after being out in the heat. Good value for money but not perfect. Hot water is a plus (not that it was really needed in the heat).

Everything was excellent except that there is no small refrigerator to put away my beverages and etc... The window was cracked open and broken and couldn't close so the air conditioner would not escape and the t.v. was working at times.

The property and the rooms need some work. Missing door handles, curtains that were so old that they were very thin, bed mattress was so hard and pillows so thin. They charged my husband a US citizen and resident the 19% Vat because he has a Colombian passport but thats not the regulation they would harass him every day till he paid he was there 5 days.

The property needs some TLC. The rooms were run down and mattresses were so hard. Towels were so thin. Also, the property charged my husband 19% Vat even though he is a US Citizen and resident but has dual citizenship. He was not suppose to pay this and they would not hear reason.

The cleaning staff, the people at the dinning area were very good and pleasant. The outside pool area and dinning area were kept clean. However, the rooms needed some TLC, we stayed in two different rooms and both were the same. The beds were so hard I felt like I was sleeping on the floor, the sheets were so hard and not comfy at all. The beds were broken and mended together with wood pieces, the doors to the closet were filthy, missing the door knobs and so old. The curtains are so old that they are see through and the light that comes in at 5 am doesn't allow you to sleep past that time. My husband was there for a few nights before I arrived and he spilled something in the elevator and told them, days later the spill was still there. Also, very upset that although my husband has a Colombian passport and came into the country with that passport (required) he does not live in Colombia and was only staying a 8 days in the country. The hotel still charged him the IVA 19% for his stay for the 5 days he was there alone. They refused to listen and continued to ask him to pay everyday. He ended up paying the IVA . When we came back for additional 2 days they did not charge us because we gave them my US passport and his. However, the last day when he checked out on his own after I left and made sure everything was paid for they were charging him the IVA for the one day he was there alone. Unacceptable on the part of the hotel to charge foreigners this fee.

Carísimo para el servicio que presta, casi 230 dólares por 2 noches es mucho para el nivel del hotel… para ir una noche está bien, solo y si no te cobran a 400 mil la noche, pero en pareja o con familia no lo recomendó… necesita muchos updates

The room was a great size for the price, and had a nice view. Double bed was two singles pushed together but was still quite comfortable. Staff dealt with our very little Spanish and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average and the pool was nice.

Not the best hotel in the zone

I selected this hotel because of it cost and because it had a pool; however, when I got there I asked about the pool and they told me that it closed at 10 p.m. When I went to the pool to swim, it was closed because of maintenance (the recepcionist could have told me this when he indicated the hours for the pool). The pool was closed for 2 days - I was just staying for 3 days, so I didn´t get to use the pool. On the other hand, since the day I arrived I asked for separate bills - one for the first night adressed to the Company I work for and another one for the other 2 nights, addressed to me - however, after reminding the staff constantly that I needed the separate invoices, I had to depart the hotel without any of them. They sent them to my email a couple days later and they promised they would send them to my apartment also - it never happened -. Furthermore, the amount Expedia charged me for the hotel, was different to the rate the hotel gave me, so that caused me hours of tramits, to get a refund for the excess I was charged for. The hotel could have helped me just by giving me the invoices expressed in US dollars; however, they refused to do so until I insisted for days. In conclusion, not the best service or disposition to the clients. Finally, my last night at the hotel, I went to bed really tired, to be awakened at 2:00 am by a band that was playing extremely loud inside the hotel, because there was a marriage party celebration taking place in the hotel.

Granted the building its older great charm they where working on it paint and such may need some pest control,but smack in the spot that it is great to go any where u such desire parking in the basement bit challenging to get out when it's a lot of taxis park up front
Very helpful staff ready to assist (Sergio at the bar Gabriel at getting wherever you need)

The management at front desk are thieves, I originally booked the property for 2 nights through Hotels.com. I decided to stay one extra night and went to the lobby with my credit card and paid on the 3rd day for the 3rd night. I was nothing but generous, tipped each staff member often, I suppose they see this as weakness. Upon checkout they told me I owed them one more night. I showed them receipts and proof I already paid. They told me to pay in a threatening manner, meanwhile I'm in a different country and they are taking advantage of the fact that I don't speak the language fully (pretending to not understand me, meanwhile the entire time we have communicated fine). I ended up paying as I had to get to the airport within an hour. The \"bell boy\" insisted I get into an unmarked cab to go to the airport and stood there arguing with me when I refused to be ripped off further (this taxi cost 3x the usual amount), I just ignored him and took taxi on the street. Wifi doesn't really work. There are better places for less money.

It was nice to sit around the pool in the hot afternoon. Hotel staff would have refreshing juice drinks and sometimes appetizers in the lobby for free. The only I didn't like is that they always had music blaring by the pool even around 1am when no one was sitting out there so I could hear it in my room and at breakfast! It would have been better to have the volume turned down so that you could talk to the person at the table with you.

Good bang for the buck

Hotel is old but in excellent order and maintained perfectly which is what I really like about it.

Bed was big and comfortable. Air conditioning worked excellent. Refrigerator in room very old but in excellent condition and worked like new.

I like the old furniture in the rooms that appear in such good condition as to be professionally restored.

Staff was friendly though the morning breakfast crew were a little gruff. The breakfast itself was adequate.

The only problem I had was with some cockroaches in the bathroom but when I advised the management the super friendly cleaning ladies sprayed the bathroom while I was out and when I returned there were no fumes and no more roaches seen since. To be fair in a tropical climate these problems are more common.

I enjoyed my stay and without hesitation can recommend and will stay there again when I am in Barranquilla.
