The windows are 1980 at the most , thin glass , rotten handles , zero sound proof.
I went on peak season and the mánager and some of the staff took it off too!
There is only one restaurant working on the lobby , like a dark corner. The top floor restaurant advertised doesn’t open.
The business center has no wifi. At the 3rd day they brought a cable to Connect , but the plug in the wall just came off with the cable.

The breakfast buffet and pool area were great, but we were very disappointed with the room. It was poorly set up—two single beds looked unfinished, with only one set of sheets and no proper comforters, and a king bed on the other side. There were two bathrooms, but only one had hot water, and the toilets flushed very slowly. The safe was not bolted down, and the lighting in the room was poor.

The in-room “mini market” items were chargeable, with no coffee, tea, or hot water available. We had to go downstairs to order drinks, also chargeable, and there were no basic instructions provided for Wi-Fi, call reception, or other services. Overall, the room did not meet expectations.

Most of the staff were very friendly; however, one gentleman at reception took a long time to check us in and was somewhat rude when we asked for assistance. Overall, the room and service did not meet expectations.

Pools are well maintained. You can enjoy dinner onsite at pulpo Paul. Next time in town I now have a place of choice.

Staff MUY AMABLE, sin embargo el proceso de checking y checkout es bastante lento por la cantidad de papeleo que deben hacer, pero el staff es muy paciente y gentil. Habitacion limpia, mobiliario algo antiguo, pero bien mantenido, WC extremadamente incomodo, la tapa que lleva piuesta no es la del modelo, por lo que su uso es complicado y desagradable. Desayuno nos decepciono, su calidad no era la esperada, en cuanto a lo frescura de sus ingredientes..., piscina correcta, una de ellas cerrada por mantenimiento..., el Bar no lo use, por lo que no puedo opinar. En las cercanias a pie, hay muy buenos restaurantes, costosos pero de una calidad impecables....Parking comodo, la zona se siente segura.

I’ve have stayed at this hotel several times in the past. It used to be very good. 7 years after my last stay I am disappointed with the lack of maintenance in the rooms. I got a junior suite, 2 bathrooms and 2 rooms. There was a sewer-like smell in the rooms and several plumbing issues. The sink was clogged, the toilets did not flush properly, and there was visible mold or humidity on the walls.

On the first night, there was a strong plumbing or sewer odor, to the point that I had to open the bathroom windows to ventilate the space. Overall, I found the rooms to be quite neglected in terms of cleanliness and maintenance.

I understand that the hotel is old and that renovations have been made over time; however, the most important aspects are room and bathroom cleanliness, and unfortunately, this fell short during my stay.

We leave with a very negative impression of the hotel. People would say, \"it's one of the best hotels in Barranquilla\" but the truth is, that it's one of the worst we've ever stayed at. The staff were not friendly. You could tell they were not enjoying their job and if you work in hospitality, you should at least like people and enjoy the environment you are in. The staff never smiled, when you asked a question they looked at you with impatience. The key to our room never worked, not once, throughout our stay, and whenever I complained, the front desk was not very nice. The hotel does not have amenities, no spa, no real restaurant, and the restaurant on the top floor, only opens twice a week. Overall disappointing experience and stay.

La habitación, puntualmente la 1606 cuenta con elementos muy deteriorados. Manchas de humedad en las puertas de madera principal y de armario, el plástico del televisor (el marco) está partido, la cortina de la ducha rasgada, la regadera tiene los que parece hongo, los tomas eléctricos están levantados o desprendidos de la pared, la funda de una de las almohadas tiene motas que reflejan exceso de uso, hay polvo dentro del armario. La calidad del colchón es regular. La cortina tipo blackout a pesar de que es eléctrica estaba descarrilada. Yo mismo tuve que ajustarla. El mueble que sostiene la nevera tiene la lámina levantada o partida exponiendo el aserrín prensado. El soporte del papel higiénico (donde va sostenido) se ve sucio o manchado.

El restaurante es limpio y la calidad de los alimentos es buena, sin embargo la infraestructura y decoración luce anticuada. Sugerencia: los contenedores de alimentos tipo bandeja deberían tener tapa de vidrio para que permita ver el contenido sin abrir, además autosoportables. Es decir, que tenga una bisagra que sostenga la tapa. Esto facilitaría el servir los alimentos. En una mano se tiene el plato, con la otra se sirve y hay que reorganizar el buffet para poner la tapa del recipiente.

Estuve únicamente desde las 10pm hasta las 8am del día siguiente. Por las razones aquí expresadas decidí hacer check-out.

The staff are what make this hotel great. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very clean and I'm great shape because of them. Both pools were amazing. The included breakfast had many different options every day and the hotel bar/restaurant had great food as well. Definitely get the ceviche pulpo Paul. It was one of the best ceviches that I've ever had. Plenty of shopping, great restaurants, and supermarkets within walking distance. I stayed for 7 days. I will stay again very soon.

We had stayed at this hotel before, we had a wonderful suite with a kitchenette. This time there was no kitchenette and no light at all in the living room, no lamp or no overhead light. We were very disappointed and I hav already booked for two weeks in December but I don’t wish to pay to stay under the same conditions.
The pool is great and the staff is friendly which is why we booked again but the room, itself was bit the same quality as the last time we stayed.

The staff was friendly and helpful, but unfortunately the hotel itself is in serious need of renovations. The AC units in the room appeared to be over a decade old and didn’t work efficiently. The entire building feels outdated, with the exterior resembling a rundown motel—there was even trash visible on the street. The elevators are extremely old, and the Wi-Fi connection was very weak and unreliable.

the hotel was empty, room was horrible noise all night. coming from the central A/C unit. breakfast food looks nasty and few fruits also not look fresh. staff unfriendly, very bad actitudes. when we check in a lady from cleaning department was talking with the receptionist. and she asked my husband why he doesn't smile at her. after one long night no sleep at all, we decided to move to another hotel. because they don't help us . unfortunately my reservation was for 3 nights. and i requested a refund because we stayed only one night. i have a print out receipt. i hope expedia can help me with this issue . very bad hoyel

I stay at Barranquilla Plaza every time I visit Barranquilla, and it continues to be one of my favorite places. The staff is truly amazing — some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Their warmth and professionalism make every stay special.

The food is consistently very good, and I’ve always enjoyed the variety and quality offered.

This time around, I did notice that the lobby could use a little TLC — maybe some refreshing or updating to match the high standards found elsewhere in the hotel. But honestly, that’s my only critique.

Overall, Barranquilla Plaza remains an excellent hotel, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. Can’t wait to come back!

Good hotel in a good area with nice restaurants, within walking distance to two good areas to go out (La 88 y La 44). Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was not great but good enough. The Wifi is not great and the cable comes and goes a bit. The cleaning staff do a good job even though they make you work to get fresh towels and more toilet paper. The pools are nice and clean. Good hot water and water pressure in the shower.
