Staff were great, Oliver took extra care of us and issues that arose. Great location, pool and beach were great. Using their shuttle to get around was helpful as the staff would point out sloths or red frogs and share information.

Resort was amazing and loved the condo and staff. They were extremely accommodating and friendly. Only recommendations were better deck furniture, there was only two plastic chairs. And my brother and I are vegetarians, the meal options to eat out were very limited. Other than that, we lived and would certainly recommend and return!

First I need to clarify: Don't book the jungle lodges if you expect premium rooms. We made that mistake misled by the nice photos of the rooms. For a similar price choose the Lodges or Villas. We were so disappointed but the fantastic staff kindly moved us to a condo with views to the Ocean and gardens. That transformed our experience to a very pleasent nature fusion experience with 4* commodities.
The resort is kind of in a transition phase and the restaurant upgraded the menu on our last day as part of their changes, which was much appreciated. The staff was wonderful all times!
From the condo we could observe many species of birds and even a sloth. Monkeys and of course the red frogs are easy to spot.
Areas of improvement, some the resort isplanning to do in near future include:
- more eco-friendly engagements (stop plastic)
- cleaning days of beach areas as an eco and learning experience (Panama infrastructures in terms of trash management are underdeveloped)
- free boat shuttle to residents for more shopping and restaurant choices around Bocas
Overall we had a great time and we are grateful for the way the team listened to our comments and did their best to make our stay a wonderful one.

Staff is courteous but the Villas are not maintained to a standard that matched the price. Showered rode fell on my daughter’s head. Fixtures for towels falling off the wall. Then the pool tiles is not maintained and cut my daughter’s foot open. Now she can go on the beach or in the water for a week while it heals. No staff on hand for emergency so you are on your own.

NO Wifi for the first 2 days, master bed had no water in the bathrooms plus a few other minor irritants. The staff were nice and polite, but very inefficient. Most requests would take forever for a response.

Red Frog Island Beach houses are very, very nice. It would be nice to have a few items in there for cooking, like salt, spices, or oil. The restaurant and service could be improved. The menu has only bar food, and the waiters are inexperienced.
These suggestions being made, we did enjoy our stay.

Red frog and the staff were excellent, we loved our stay and would be happy to come back. The only reason we give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because a good amount of amenities were closed : the pool, zipline, one of the restaurants, and the market. The staff did a good job making up for these closures, they were amazing! But if you’re booked for these you may want to be aware before you arrive.

The Red Frog Resort is a beautifully located area. Although it rained for most of the time, the beach and property are amazing. We saw sloths, monkeys and of corse the red frogs throughout our stay. The staff was so nice and made us feel very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a quiet and beautiful experience in Bocas.

I felt unsafe as the locks on the Jungle Room # 8 didn't all lock and curtains were missing , no way to contact desk or staff at times....Water to take a shower was cold at all times....the curtains that were there were dirty....I adv staff to move me to different room and they promised but, never gave me a new room....The staff driving golf cart to and from reception was nice and kind ..,.Kenny and Enrique .....My TV never worked right along with the main light turned on by itself in the middle of the night, possibly an electrical issue? I would never stay there and don't recommend it

It is a true paradise. For the most part the staff was amazing and happy to help. Unfortunately, the staff Rosa beach club for dinner was very slow. We loved the Villa, but unfortunately, it does require a lot of maintenance (windows handles falling off, taps falling off, dripping faucet etc). Overall, we loved everything, and will definitely conciser coming back.

Then property is gorgeous. It is more spread out then I thought. The ride service on site is nice as the hills can be hard. The Food at the resort is acceptable but not great. The Plamer resort that is just a 5 minute walk.is much better. Overall it was a great place to stay.

We loved our stay at this hotel it was very beautiful. We found it a bit tough getting back to our jungle lodge at night. The mountainous terrain was difficult to climb and when we called for shuttles they did not always come quickly. If I knew the terrain I would have tried to book a pricey golf cart for the week. By the time we caught on there were none available and we had to rely on the resort for transport. Not always a great option.

Absolutely wonderful resort in the middle of nature. The architecture of the place does not disturb the original jungle. The distribution of each room, house, and lodge is so well done that you feel alone in the jungle. The beaches and common areas are beautiful, and the staff is very kind and attentive. Additionally, the supermarket inside the resort offers a great variety, reasonable prices, and everything you need to cook your meal if you rent one of the houses. Excellent choice for a different vacation with the family.

Beautiful Resort with Great Service, but Some Draw

The resort is stunning with a beautiful beach, and the staff, including the golf cart drivers, were amazing and friendly. The resort is large, so you’ll need to call for a golf cart, but they arrive quickly.

The on-site supermarket is very overpriced, and the service there was lacking, although we learned it’s not part of the resort. The WiFi worked well in the villa, restaurant, and even some parts of the beach.

While the atmosphere during the day was great with music and friendly beach staff, we were disappointed by the lunch and dinner at the restaurant, though breakfast was good. Since the sunset is early, evenings were a bit dull, and we would have liked some evening entertainment.

Overall, it’s a great place to relax, but a few improvements could make it even better!

Very disappointed with the concierge service. The zip line was closed. You said there was no surfing and in fact there was surfing on the island. The beach bar was closed and a honeymoon suite to me should be nicer than what it was.

We left a message for our pick up to go to the airport at 9:30. We had to call at 9:35 to remind you to pick us up. Some messages sent were not responded to. overall it was pretty disappointing.

Loved the setting. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful surroundings. Lots of wildlife. Very comfortable lodgings. But it's not really a resort. It's a collection of villas, condos, and bungalows which are rented out. Still, a very nice place to stay. The staff was tremendous. Friendly, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. Restaurant food was good too. Don't miss the spa!

Overall, we had a lovely stay and greatly enjoyed the beauty of the property. The staff was amazing, very friendly and accommodating. A little slow in the dining room at times. Would’ve been nice to have a little music or some small entertainment in the evenings. The only unfortunate thing was that my husband tripped over rebar that was hard to detect in our backyard and got a nasty gash on his leg.

We had a short but wonderful stay! The two concierges, Sergio and Stephanie could not have been more friendly and welcoming and both were extremely helpful in addressing every question and need we had. When we arrived, there was an issue with our room but they quickly addressed it offering a free upgrade and amenities to ensure our stay was as good if not better than what we had originally planned. Everything was lovely and we all had a wonderful time (family of 5)

This place is a dream. The room was amazing, the shuttle service around the property and the staff was perfect. The beach is gorgeous. We had a private pool that was cold and in the shade most of the time, so we spent more time in the beach club and the ocean.
I would caution you that this resort is in the middle of nowhere. Bring cash for tips (no ATMs on the island), and definitely any medications you might need. I got a cold on the plane and there is no pharmacy anywhere nearby…the front desk managed to get me some lozenges about 10 hours after I asked, but no decongestant. There is a tiny store on the property but very little in it. The main town is $10 a person one way by water taxi, which makes getting decongestant very pricey. Also, there was only one restaurant open on the property. There are supposed to be four in the vicinity, but there were only two: the La Rosa beach club and Palmar (on the public beach). Fortunately both were very good, and we enjoyed eating the same excellent seared ahi night after night. When we left there was a discrepancy between the room charge and the hotels.com receipt, so they had to figure that out and it took some time, but they fixed it. The guy at the desk and all the staff really went above and beyond.

We loved this place! The staff are kind and nice. We saw lots of cool wildlife. Our 3 bedroom villa was beautiful. It was about a 10 minute walk to the beautiful beach. There’s only one restaurant on the property and limited restaurants on the island. We enjoyed our time!

Paradise on earth!!!

The place is amassing but even more amazing are the people, from Ana, to Sergio, Mario, Jose, Enrique, and practically everyone we encountered, they were all great the hospitality is second to none from all the places I have stayed at. The beaches are amazing; great food, great accommodations, nothing in this place is disappointing; everything is perfect. I will always stay here every time I return.

This was an amazing resort. The spa was the ultimate rainforest treat. I enjoyed a fantastic massage while immersed in the sounds of the rainforest.
We enjoyed zip lining with our son. It was one of the best zip lining courses we have experienced around the world.
The food at the main restaurant La Rosa was mediocre. But the El Palmar resort restaurant next door offered great food.

I have mixed feeling about this place. I have to give low scores to cleanliness and services because the toilet was yellowish. This should be a big no!no! to any guests. It took us almost 14 hours to get instructions to use wifi and drinking water situation. The restaurant experience at La Rosa, however, was very pleasant. Food was delicious and never failed to impress us. Staff were very accommodating. View there was amazing!

This property is very big and so beautiful. The buildings have been situated so well that most of the time you feel like you are alone in the jungle. The villas are amazing! We had so much space and such high quality finishes. The private pools were kept clean and were just what you need in Panama. The staff was so accommodating. You could send a message on WhatsApp and they would help you out. We are pretty fit and did a lot of walking up and down to our villa at the very top of the site and enjoyed it very much, but if you text them, they will bring a small truck or a golf cart to drive you wherever you want to go. They arrange for launchas for you and you can visit other islands or BastiTown. This was the surprise hit of our amazing trip! I so wanted to see a sloth in its habitat and we did see a few as we wandered, but the highlight was when one chose to sleep in the tree right next to our villa. Also, so many red frogs if you take some of the unpaved paths near the beach.

The villa we stayed in was beautiful, spacious and the grounds were stunning and super private. Full of wildlife! The whole Red Frog area was amazing if you like a VERY quiet, subdued vacation. There is no shopping, not even a gift shop, and very few restaurants which are also often closed. This was an adjustment but we loved the atmosphere and lack of crowds/commercialization. We were oddly \"upgraded\" to a 3br villa for no apparent reason. I'm not sure if it was actually an upgrade as we didn't need 3 bedrooms. The one thing that really bothered all of us was the incredibly hard beds. I mean ROCK hard! My husband and I weren't able to sleep well the whole trip which really made it hard to enjoy our time. We're also not used to sleeping in a queen size bed. The descriptions of the amenities online are very misleading. They seem to lay out the facts of one villa, when in reality, each villa is completely different. The description online said there were 3 br, 4 ba. It said there was a king size bed in the master, and another bedroom that had 2 twin beds - these were 2 things very important to us. When we arrived there were 2 br with queen beds and 1br with a twin bed, and only 2 bathrooms. They really need to change the online information to be accurate. At the time of our visit the island was in a drought so water was sometimes off. Also, the pools were only filled about 3/4 full and some not at all. Our private pool was HOT and really needed cleaned by the 3rd day.

Total paradise! I stayed here with my husband and two young children (ages 3 & 7). We were upgraded from our two bedroom accommodation to a three bedroom villa with private pool. The accommodation was beautiful, well maintained, have a fantastic ocean view, and was absolutely perfect for our family! The resort shuttle came promptly to pick us up when we requested it. The staff were always extremely helpful from booking water taxis to delivering dinner to us via their golf cart shuttle. I could go on forever about this resort! The beach was beautiful, the waves were huge! I did read about strong riptides, and kept my small children close to me and near the shore and didn't have any issues. Such a wonderful paradise. I strongly recommend staying here!

We especially liked the boat excursion the hotel booked for us, with our Captain Arturo, we toured one of the Zapatillo islands, snorkeled, saw a few dolphins, it was the highlight of our stay. The staff was overall awesome, they picked us up in the golf carts, they were friendly and polite. The rest of the Resort was alright, the restaurants were fine. The whole experience was pretty laid back if you don't expect attention immediately you'll like it ok. The place is so spread out a bit, but it's overall walkable, it seems like they are spread a bit thin for staff. Not a swimming beach area really.

Villa 30 - Amazing view, pool, great beaches

Our villa was beautiful! We loved the grounds, the view of the ocean, landscaped perfect with nature. We seen monkeys almost every day and several red frogs too. Food at Punta Lava was very good. Prices for food and drinks really reasonable. Staff friendly and helpful.

Beautiful but not quite what we expected.

This is not a hotel. This is an opportunity to rent a large house for a large group of people in a very remote place. Ideal for families or groups of friends, but not ideal if you are only one or two people because then you need to share a house with strangers. You need to take a water taxi to Bocas (the town) for nightlife. We thought the idea was great except you have to pay for the taxi if you don't want to take the resort shuttle during the few times of day it runs. The prices at the one local restaurant are equal to New York $20-30 per plate, and though the food is good, the service is horrible. We were very surprised by the high prices of all the amenities. The restaurant for the hostel (Kayuko) on the other hand, is LOVELY. GREAT FOOD, great people, great wifi. If you are looking for a poolside location with cabanas and drink service, this is not it. If you are looking for a private house to bring you whole family, this will be great for you. The beach was absolutely beautiful, but getting there then getting to the villas on the unpaved roads in a golf cart will do a number on your back- not for the faint of heart!

We were very impressed with the Red Frog Beach accommodations. It was a full size 2 bedroom home with a great room. The kitchen had a fabulous island for entertaining. Just off the great room was a fully covered patio that was completely furnished. The bed rooms were ample size both having en-suite baths. A plus was a private pool. The water was air temperature so perfect.
