We had the penthouse which had a beautiful view of the ocean. Loved having the comfort of an apartment with the convenience of a hotel. Staff were very nice and the food at the restaurant was delicious. We recommended it to people we met that were not staying at the hotel. We especially loved the fish and the \"live cooking\" pasta. The only negative was that there were not a lot of pool chairs so they filled up quickly but that makes sense for the size of the hotel. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

The breakfast was very limited in options and whatever you ordered extra (even if it was literally a slice of avocado) they made us pay extra. Didn’t know what to expect but definitely disappointing

Tropical Suits has bed bugs, and the staff did nothing to resolve the problem. They repeatedly told us that they spray Lysol. What a joke! 200.00 a night for nothing.

BEWARE: BED BUGS!!
Me and both my daughters woke up every morning at this hotel with new, itchy bites on their bodies each day, which is highly concerning and consistent with bed bugs rather than simple “sand flies from outside.” Each night I went to sleep I awoke up with more bites, and the pattern continued throughout my stay, clearly indicating something in the room even after they changed the sheets.
I reported this to the hotel, but they repeatedly dismissed it as sand flies and did nothing meaningful to help. There was no room change offered, no professional inspection, no proactive treatment, and NO genuine concern for my comfort or health. I felt completely unsupported while still getting new bites. As you can imagine, these bites are extremely itchy and I have counted over 40 on just myself!
For a hotel, this level of inaction is unacceptable. Guests deserve a safe, clean room and to be taken seriously when they report a potential infestation. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone, and strongly urge management to take this issue seriously and bring in a proper pest inspection and treatment before more guests go through this. The only solution we were offered was Lysol. Unfortunately, bed bugs are in the mattress and headboard, so this did nothing to help avoid additional bites.

Very clean room. Staff are super accommodating, polite and friendly. It is a bit pricey for the room We ate elsewhere as it is expensive to eat and drink here. Toilet seat needs attention. Our coffee maker sometimes worked and sometimes did not. We had an ocean view. Nice pool area.

The front desk staff (particularly Lacey) were so kind and helpful.
The pool area is really nice in concept but practicality isn’t there. There were only 6 or 8 lounge chairs and a couch set, there is not enough room for people to actually use it. Because of the lack of seating we only used the pool twice(for maybe 2 hours each time) our whole stay.
Booking tours thru them is very convenient, but they charge the amount plus take where if you book at one of the information centers it’s just a flat rate.

Room #3 was quite big but had issues. The road was very noisy as was the elevator noise every time it was used. The shower head was wacky which made it very hard to get a shower besides having no hot water. The positive side was the breakfast was good but you have to pay for a side of toast! Would not recommend for the price paid.
We had friends who stayed on the 2nd floor which they liked better. It is close to the center of town. We did take a tour they offered to Starfish Beach which we liked very much.

Great hotel, would stay there again

There was an issue with the room because of heavy rains and nothing under the hotels control, but the way the team handled everything was truly outstanding. The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely eager to make things right. They went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and well taken care of, which made all the difference.

Despite the hiccup, I left with a very positive impression and would happily stay here again. The hotel is in a great location and the beach club is really nice! We even saw dolphins in the sea when sitting at the pool's bar which was insane.

We had a beatiful room with a porch facing the street but with trees and foliage blocking the street for the most part. Nice comfortable chairs on the porch. Disappointed it didn't face the water but after talking to others I think we got a better room. Room was beautiful with little kitchen. No microwave which would have been nice but a stove. Staff were great. Lovely bar and pool area overlooking the ocean.

We were disappointed with our stay at Tropical Suites Hotel in Bocas del Toro. Despite paying premium prices, the hotel felt more like a less-than-three-star experience.

The rooms were dingy, outdated, and in need of renovation. Worse, they appeared dirty, which made our stay uncomfortable. While the staff was friendly and the restaurant offered tasty, healthy options, it wasn’t enough to make up for the overall quality of the accommodations.

This hotel seems better suited for younger travelers, but for those 50 looking for comfort and quality, it falls short. We ended up leaving two days early, despite the financial loss, as we couldn’t justify staying longer.

Unfortunately, we would not recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made.

Stayed on main island for 2 nights before going to other smaller private island. This was the best location, amazing value, excellent food & bar at The Meren the hotel pool bar & restaurant. Also the activities from the front desk were awesome and easy to book. Try the jet ski 2 hour tour to polo beach and Pajaro Iskand. WOW

Bocas town is not clean ( a lot of construction and road work), but this hotel is very clean and safe! I highly recommend staying here! The food is delicious ( make sure you sign up for the breakfast!), the pool is heavenly, and the staff are very welcoming and kind. I recommend an ocean view room if available; the porch is delightful. Rooms are spacious. The hotel is very conveniently located. 5 stars!

The hotel is very good, attentive staff, specially Moses the waiter. One has to know , that it is in the middle of town, very close to the boat station, it is vibrant city life around it, not the magic of the more remote areas, or islands. The town itself is unattactive, loud and dusty, but the boat excursions into the archipalgo give all the beauty.

The property is really nice, I’ve been to other hotels in this area and they are not as nice. The place is beautiful and the food is great. However the customer service of the staff in the bar was really lacking. They took long to bring the menu most of them (not all) weren’t courteous. Other than that it was nice.

The place is literally in the downtown in a very good area close from restaurants, supermarkets and places to hang out during the night.
The room was pretty clean, modern and equipped with everything u need to cook.

This is a beautiful hotel and the staff are extremely caring and attentive. There was a fairly major addition and renovation underway while we were there but the hotel made sure that it did not interfere with our enjoyment. The location in Bocas Town is perfect - all shops, restaurants, etc. within an easy walk.

Dry clean and quiet. Spa tub was full of sand and dirt when we turned on the jets. The water was yellow in the tub, sink,&toilet. I would suggest removing the tv and adding a microwave.

The property location is great. Close to everything and only a few doors down from where the taxi boat left us.
PROS:
Very very clean, powerful AC, updated and in good condition, fast wifi, nice view, elevator, coffee provided in the morning downstairs with ocean view. Bike racks.
CONS: The room had a bit of a mildew smell, the AC motor is on the porch and it's VERY loud so you can't talk if you are on the porch if the AC is on, unless you go inside the room, we had a reservation for 3 people for 2 nights and we only had 2 towels in our room, we had to go downstairs to ask for towels about 2 times a day (they would only give us 1 or 2 towel each time). No new hand towels. The hair dryer in the bathroom did not worked. If you have valuables check the installation of the safe, we had the room 11 and it had been installed with 1 screw ONLY, and you could move it all over... So that was not secure at all. They do have cameras all over the hotel.
Everyone was nice at the hotel, but for some reason on that island it seems like anyone you talk too is annoyed by your presence. Very few people were really nice and happy to answer any of our questions. It's just a strange feeling coming from a very touristic place ourself where people have a much better attitude. Anyway... I guess that has nothing to do with the hotel. By the way, the guy at the desk on Sunday night was very nice when we asked him about a specific location on the island. Would stay here again.

We stayed in the starfish suite. The room was very nice and clean with a private basically and the glass floor to see the first swimming before the hotel. Location is good right with lots of restaurants and shops closer by. No restaurant in the hotel itself and the small bar didn't seem to be used. Biggest downside was that the door was not soundproof at all and it was very easy to hear conversations in the hall, and I assume people in the hall could great is too. Overall still a great stay and would stay there again.
