Wished I had read reviews, and checked the rating, so was under whelmed expecting a bit more. But it worked, I got rested and fed. The staff was nice, checking in was pleasant. It covered my needs, but it could be more comfortable and cleaner. But I would probably not stay here again, assuming there are better options.

Cons: no convenient plugs for charging devices, NO CABLE TV (just free internet channels), stained bedding, tub too slippery (very dangerous), they close the lobby for lunch (it’s a chain, this shouldn’t be a thing).

My room had not been renovated in a long long time. The bed was okay but linens terrible and thin. No mattress pad and one thin blanket. The maid came once in my 3 nights and never made the bed and once left new towels. Over all this is an old motel not renovated with minimal services. Not recommended.

Staff was friendly, which was the only good thing. The room had dirt on the floor and it was sticky, there was a hair tie in the corner from previous people. The coffee pot was dirty, it really needs soap and water not just rinsed. The furniture is old and scratched up and they have the nerve to hold a deposit until they inspect the room after we left. Even outside the carpets are terribly stained. Not again!

We had 3 people staying in a room with two beds, though I registered for 4 people (the 4th canceled). We were a bit disappointed that there were so few towels, but when we asked, more were brought over promptly. The bagels at breakfast were really good toasted with whipped cream cheese. While it was very warm outside, the temperature of the room was very comfortable. I never turned on the āc. Since it was a handicapped accessible room, we were told it was okay to park in the handicapped spaces, as some of the other spots were blocked off for a delivery. Only complaints are - no box of tissues, night light in the bathroom (so youʼd have to turn on the whole light for nighttime bathroom breaks blinding the sleeping people, though I remembered to bring my own night light, so we were fine), and if we wanted to use the microwave, weʼd need to unplug the fridge or tv to be able to plug it in. We didnʼt end up playing cards, but if we did, there were only 2 chairs and a desk. Walking distance to a grocery store.
It was clean. Beds each had 2 pillows, sheets and a blanket - no bedspread. It was good I brought a few pillows from home. It was a comfortable and affordable stay. Other friends paid $100 more a night to be closer to the wedding. I think the money saved was worth the extra 30 minute drive.

The room was filthy. There was dirt, hair, and dead insects on the sheets. There is no way the sheets were changed since the last guests! The towels were damp and stained by who knows what. There were gaps in the doors, and the lock was difficult to operate. The breakfast was a joke. No regular coffee, one bagel, one donut, some old cupcakes for all guests. We ate at McDonalds down the street. We reserved a room for two nights and left after the first night. The only reason we stayed the one night was we got back to the room late and had nowhere else to go. We slept on top of the blanket because of what we found between the sheets. Read other reviews and this confirms all the previous bad reviews.

A stay in the Wild

Trip was to visit ACTION WILDLIFE. Very close to facility. Hotel is outdated for the pricing. Very old but clean. Front desk very courteous. When opening the door to our room a strong scent of old moldie clothes that have been stored in boxes and shoved in a dark closet for years just whiffed out and lingered in the room. The beds were fine but not doubles like advertised. Overnight sleep was fine. Checkout the next morning was good. Only issue was the scent in the room but other than that the stay was fine.

This was part of a 5day moving trip and was to worst hotel we stayed at. All the appliances in the room were unplugged including the ac unit so it took forever to cool the room down were we could sleep. The one lamp in the room was broken and we had to ask for towels to have enough to shower. Should be burned and the lot cleared.

The entry door had a lip that the scooter couldn't clear. The bathroom floor not well cleaned. The room was very old, in bad shape. Old bed. Noisy air conditioner. Not an accessible toilet. The hotel is trying to do repairs. My room, 101 was very nice. My concern is all the abandoned cars & stored cars sitting in the parking area taking up spaces! One is clearly abandoned, Expedition. No lisense plate, completely flat tire $ dirt covered on 1 side. Next to it a red car with broken drivers window. Then a car covered. Also was an old mattress laying by dumpster. There was a snow plow in another area of parking. It was a sold out weekend & some of these things should have been long gone. The ice machine has been an issue for years. It runs out & takes hours to work again. Replace with new.

It really is difficult to rate a hotel room such as this. On the one hand, the room was clean. On the other hand, the room is definitely 1-star sleazy. Old, uncomfortable mattress. Bare walls. No amenities to speak of. No elevator. Worn carpeting. No bedspread. Threadbare towels. Nominal toiletries. No facial tissue. In short, this is a $25 hotel room for which $125 is charged. They know that they’re among the only game in the City of Torrington (the other choice is a Days Inn that, believe it or not, may be even worse!) so they can get away with dramatically overcharging for this sad, sad room.

The property's overall look is dated and needs repairs. The parking lot is well lit like a prison yard.
The rooms are dirty and in need of repairs. From the front door, which seems to have been forced open a few times, to the broken cover on the AC, to the bathroom sink that needs repairs, to the smell of smoke, I asked for a non-smoking room, and I was told at check-in that is what I got. I think they meant that I was not smoking in the room regardless of the fact that it smelled like everyone else did.
The floor was dirty, and it seemed like no one took the time to clean the room. It was not worth the money.

The staff were wonderful and warm at this motel. I splurged and went for a room with a hot tub! But... that was a beat up room in rough shape and it was like they had slapped a tub into a run down room to raise rates upwards of $200 a night- at a hotel that without said tub would be hard pressed to charged $50 a night.

I would not stay here again and I feel sad for the staff who are doing their best in a run down space.

The ov we all experience was very unsatisfactory. We we're overcharged for the room. Your sites said price was $105. And we were charged almost$250. On our credit card. Not a great way to do business. When will I be reimbursed for the difference? No pool and your site said there was one. 1 washcloth,1 hand towel,and overall the place was old and not the cleanest Probably wouldn't use your site again or the hotel if thats the way you treat your customers.

We liked the Gazebo & planted area. The management staff behind the desk were helpful and informative. But, keep your towels to re-use because they might not have any more even at the desk. There were no tissues and we had to ask for more soap and toilet paper. They did not come in to service the room. We were there for 3 nights.

The room had laminate flooring, which is much cleaner than carpet. The rest of the roomwas very shabby. The bathroom floors had a slippery film on them. Shower did not drain properly. The curtains did not close properly and there was an outside light sinning directly on the bed. The rooms need a serious upgrade.

The hotel is old, run down and overpriced. Staff was pleasant but beyond that the rooms were dirty with spots on the pillow cases, linens and towels. I spilled some drink on the floor and when I dabbed it up with a paper towel it was black with dirt from the carpet. Needs a paint job as well. No elevator. Breakfast as minimal as possible. Look for a better place.

felt unsafe as there was daylight under the door, a rat or snake could of gotten in the room. Because of that you could hear alot of outside noise, our second room was full of spiders so my daughters moced to a different room. We move out after the first nite because of these issues. Asked for a refund and we were denied so forfieted $. Would definetly recommend against staying ther. Would like to get a return of my $ I spent for two rooms.

The person at the desk was helpful but seemed annoyed. No problem but then I found my room and there was hair on the pillows, greasy fingerprints all over the microwave and fridge and the window was truly filthy. I didn't feel like dealing with the desk guy again and it was just too dirty for me so I left my key in the room and went home.

It was not a Good stay at all. We had a resident next to us with large dog who was constantly barking. AND He appeared to be under the influence of drugs and or alcohol. The dog barked at almost every single sound. He looked like an attack dog not a pet.

If this wasnt bad enough the resident upstairs appeared to be also under the influence and leering at the female guests, staff, and kids on or near the property.

I understand if they live there but there has to be some type of decorum and behavior that should be expected from Hotel guests.

Im beyond at a loss for words. If we hadnt just been up in Massachusetts visiting our son and were so EXHAUSTED i would've CANCELED and LEFT IMMEDIATELY from this property.

I'm not asking for a Credit for another stay, I'm asking for a FULL AND COMPLETE REFUND OF MY STAY.

i just felt like the room was not at all like the pictures, it was out dated old carpet, bed was ok, not enough toilet paper area was quiet. definitely needed more updated stuff for 155$ i was expecting better but overall was ok. at most the room should have been like 65$ cuz for the price it needs alot more redecorating fresh paint new carpet new bedding goes along way.

Amenities listed were a pool and fitness equipment but both were not available.
Breakfast had cereal but no milk, and the juice machine was not working our first morning. I was able to get orange juice our second morning but not apple juice.
Our room needed some upkeep…some outlets were loose, microwave didn’t work, some tv channels didn’t have sound or was staticky, the room & ceiling could have used a paint job….Our room rate was too high for what was offered/not available.
The two gentlemen at the front desk were very nice, hospitable, helpful, easy to talk with…I give them the top score!!

The Room that I was given was dirty. The bed had a stain in the middle of the bed which looks like someone leaked and also had hairs from previous guests.
The towel in the bathroom were old and stained and one of them even had red lipstick on it, the other one had some orange stain.
The stairs to go to my room were full of mod and burn of cigarettes.
Asked for new towels and I had to wait 4 hours so I can go pick them up myself in the front counter, because they did not have anyone to send the to me at 4pm.
At check out there was no one in the front desk and the front door was locked. I had to make a long distance call so a lady could tell me to leave the key in the room (which I was charged an extra $5.00 for).

the rooms had an odor, the carpet was soiled, visible maintenance was poor workmanship and slapped together. The room had 3 socks underneath the bed and a container of fruit filled with fruit. An empty chip bag was also under the bed. The chain lock had no fastener to lock. The outdoor hallway was filthy and carpeted. Torrington Area Health Board should visit. Or the appropriate Health Department. The bathroom ceiling was patched and crumbing into the tub. There was a large rubber mat glued to the bottom of the tub with black mold on the mats edges. The curtains were not latched to the rod so if not positioned just right someone could look in. The front check in manager was extremely accommodating.

The property is undergoing renovations. The gym and pool are closed.at first I was told they only has two queen beds when I ordered a king. He finally found a king bed but the room must have been in the process of a redo. There was a desk but no chair,the tv remote didn’t work.
