Breakfast was pretty good, location quite central. Hotel is a bit dated and tvs are very small. No international channels.

Other residents smoking in so called non smoking rooms was the major issues. Staff moved us and provided air purifiers and were very helpful but there was a strong odour of cigarette smell throughout.

Remember a swim cap if you wish to use the pool.

Delivery robots were very cool.

Overall it was fine and staff were famtastic.

I stayed in a suite room at Holiday Inn Kunming and had a great experience. The room was spacious and very clean, with two bathrooms—one in the living room and one in the bedroom. There’s a dedicated workspace in the living area, which is perfect for business travelers. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated having two types of pillows (soft and firm) to choose from. The shower had strong water pressure, making it very relaxing. The hotel is conveniently located near Spring City Mall, which makes shopping easy. If you’re looking for accommodation in Kunming city center, Holiday Inn Kunming should definitely be one of your top options.

The hotel was about a 15 minute walk from two different subway lines and the main shopping area of the city. Getting from the airport was simple with a subway line direct from the airport to the city center. The hotel was clean with an ample selection of foods at their breakfast buffet. Disappointing - this stay

The room was too warm. We tried to use the A/C to cool it down, only to find it did not work. When we asked the hotel to fix it, we were told it could not be fixed. They provided a loud portable fan for us to use. No offer to change rooms. Disappointing from such a large international hotel chain.

Excellent hotel with high-quality staff & services

The location of the hotel is excellent due to its close vicinity to the bus stations, metro stations, a modern plaza, and board walk. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. They made extra effort to resolve the WiFi log-in problem I encountered with my iPad. And the room-keeping services were remarkable. The only areas for improvement, although none too serious, are: (1) the non-smoking room we reserved tends to reek of smoke from the vent in the bathroom (this problem could be mitigated by turning on the air-conditioning system); (2) the noise from the street traffic is audible even at the 16th floor although the level is tolerable.

Then they promptly helped 3 other travelers I had met on the plane who needed assistance to find a place to stay, as many hotels were already sold out for the night. They made phone calls to nearby hotels and found suitable rooms for these travelers. I got a free upgrade of my room and ended up in a very spacious suite, with a large living area and a large bathroom that featured a beautiful, round bath. The room was beautiful, modern, clean, and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Check out was swift and simple. Will stay there again whenever I am in Kuming.

Great hotel with one weird quirk

The hotel is very good with a decent gym, restaurants, staff, etc. The only oddity is that apparently in all the rooms people in the bed area can see into the shower to some degree. How much they can see can be influenced by the lighting used. People can also be seen and heard while sitting on the toilet which is not ideal. These thing are possible because there is clear glass on the side of the shower that faces the bed. Other than thiis the hotel is fantastic.

It is a beautiful hotel. When I checked in of course I had to pay for my airport transfer but they insisted on charging me more than they quoted me before the trip. I said to the staff while you're charging me less charge me for the transfer back to the airport tomorrow morning. She told me she had taken care of that. The next morning after I got in the taxi they had arranged and got to the airport taxi driver indicated I had to pay him. I didn't have any Chinese money cuz I got in close to midnight the night before and I told him that the hotel was supposed to pay for it. He was very upset and so I gave him some foreign money that I had in the previous country I had visited.

Located in the heart of the city, this hotel has much positive to say about it. A Full and Cordial Service Hotel

We enjoyed totally the first day of our stay. The well appointed clean room, great breakfast and convenient location. The morning of the second day we awoke to the worst flooding in the past 65 years. The Main Street in front of the hotel was under 2 feet of water and yet the majority of hotel staff made it to work. Some walked through waist high water while others rode their motorcycles through the flooded streets of Kunming . Some stayed in the hotel working back to back shifts. More rain was forecasted for the next night and we were concerned about missing our flight. The hotel allowed us to checkout a day early and arranged a reasonably priced van & driver to get us to an airport hotel. A young lady at the front desk was more than helpful. We look forward to our next less eventful visit!
