My stay was very disappointing due to the poor state of the room. The cleanliness was severely lacking..

I expect a basic standard of hygiene and comfort from any accommodation, and this room did not meet that. It was not up to standard

Service from restaurant and from desk are good, but need more training for staff in restaurant. They are too active to clean dishes and table, even I just put a full glass of Juice then left for taking some food. The juice was taken away then my seat was occupied during the peak hour.
All the rooms are actually inside the building, no outside view, only a window view to artificial garden.

The property is very old. The rooms are dark. The bathroom sink was very dirty. Breakfast room was always full of locals and to go round and round looking for cutlery
and napkins. The egg station always had a queue.
The check in and check out was smooth.

City hotel in great location

The room is clean, staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. The bed is comfortable, but no fridge in the room. Some of the light fitting have paint peeling off. However, location is fantastic. Great shopping complex and eating place next door, fantastic range of food sold by hawkers across the road from the hotel at 7am. Great swimming pool facilities if you manage to find the convoluted way from Ibis to Novotel, long opening swimming pool hours is great.
What we missed most is a common area where we can sit and relax as there are six of us when we want to discuss things. Breakfast could have been made cheaper for the hotel guests.

Perfect Customer Service of ALL STAFF!

It’s modern designed - as not new required feedback (they asked for it) for the team to get it up to top shape - all feedback was addressed - so it was a wonderful stay at the price and due to… Perfect Customer Service of ALL STAFF!
We boled a total of 20 nights for 2 staff as a good base in & out of airport & meetings around Jakarta !
Pool year is a plus ! Big plus !

Room is spacious and clean. But the toilet is very very small. Bathroom doors, shower head in need of fixing and the shower gel was not topped up at all during the stay.

Breakfast selection is very limited and not appetising with the egg station and fruit section being the saving grace.

Staff is friendly but they keep getting all the guest to sign up and Accor account resulting in long queue at check in.

Pleasant Staycation

We checked in at the hotel for 3 nights and was informed that we had to move to Novotel which is just adjacent and part of the same hotel group for technical reasons. The room we had at Ibis was clean and nice and the hotel was just above the mall. We were already fine with our room at Ibis until we moved, which was actually was an unexpected upgrade and we were very delighted to know that we got a bigger room as regards to the previous room we had. The move was seamless and hassle free.

The room was clean and the service staff were pleasant and accommodating. The pool was clean and big.

Breakfast spread was adequate and enjoyed breakfast each time. Our overall stay was very pleasant and we highly recommend this hotel for a cozy and relaxing staying in the heart of Jakarta.

Prior to arrival I was unclear on the airport transfer service so i phoned the hotel and spoke toa gentleman who advised they only do transfers from hotel to airport and not vice versa. This contradicted some of the informaiton in email confirmations. On arrival i qas advised there is no transfer facility in either direction.

In terms of overall experience excluding the above Hotel was good clean vibrant. The assistant Dhea was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable when i checked in and out. The only other interaction i had was with housekeeping Walung a new employee joining the ibis team and she was also great. Thank you.

Don't forget to specify a nonsmoking room if you're a nonsmoker as smoking is permitted in the hotel. Service is inconsistent. The adjoining mall is half empty.

The hotel is located in Mangga 2 Shopping Mall. A Convenient Store and Holland Bakery are adjacent to the hotel . Hotel lobby is on the 8th floor.

For past few years I normally stayed at Novotel which is just few units away from Ibis Styles. I find that the services are equally good. I always feel welcome at Ibis Styles, The Assistant Front Office Manager Pak Hartawan Nugroho is always very welcoming, helpful and attentive to our requests and needs.

The room is of a reasonably good size and clean with Free Breakfast and WIFI.

Messy counter and high deposit

The 2 counters were very slow when suddenly a big crowd coming to check-in. It was messy when I tried to check-in, and there was no queue... just people trying to get counter attention. After check-in, the counter failed to give me the wifi password. The incidental deposit of IDR 600,000 was a bit too high too, as it is almost equal to a single night charge. Finally the bed was too soft and I got very bad backache.

One good thing is, the wifi is very fast and connect almost instantly. And no worry about food as there is food everywhere nearby.

Overall the stay was good, The location was great for people heading to Jakarta Expo, and the staff are friendly

a few boo boos on the stay:
- Check in was late (3pm instead of 2pm)
- there was still someone's leftover mcdonalds in the room's chiller when i checked in
- The shower pipes had a bad smell after the shower is used
- The club nearby plays pounding beats till 5am

Sleep with a beat of a neighbourhood nightclub

Actually the hotel itself is very nice.
The room was clean, service was very friendly and the breakfast menu is great.
Taxis are always on standby and the shopping centre (actually it is more a market) in the same building is practical to eat or get stuff.

BUT: there is a nightclub nearby and there is a constant beat to hear (and even to feel) from 11 pm to 5 am in the morning (even at weekdays). That makes it almost impossible to get a good night sleep (even with earplugs).

The hotel would have so much potential with the great service and the friendly staff.

But because of the nightclub I wouldn't come back.

Friendly staff

Been staying in this hotel countless of time. As usual, the front office staffs are very friendly and efficient. Caught me by surprised by greeting me by my name (which is very impressive) before I could do any check in. It's like coming back to your home again. Another wonderful factor is the breakfast time. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Even thou the breakfast is kept as the same dishes daily but the friendliness of the staffs over right that. Will recommend this hotel to my working colleagues and relatives when they are having holidays in Jakarta. Overall, good job Ibis Hotel Mangga Dua. We will meet again this coming 6th August:)

Hacking sound could be heard from the mall..

Stay for 4 days..was disturbed by the nearby hacking of the wall either from the hotel or mall..the hacking will go on from morning to late evening..inform front office but no action was taken..the hacking of the wall was even on Sunday!

In the very morning, its very noisy, something like construction or repair maintenance on the upstairs floor.
I am forced to wake up and cannot sleep anymore. The noisy continues about 2 hours.

Bestest bed!

I love my room, my husband enjoyed the breakfast and we love the bed so much. A week at jakarta, we tried a hotel near by ibis, but quite unsatisfied with the room space and service. Ibis styles is awesome place to stay! Definitely will come back there again.

All and all great

Great hotel, clean room, great service. Simple but satisfying breakfast. The only complain would be the sound from the adjacent nightclub in the weekends that i can hear from my room (i had been to 8th and 9th floor and nothing could muffled it). But all and all it is a great hotel.

Dissapointed... The pictures/photos are fake

Disappointed..!!
My mistake was not peruse the facilities provided by the hotel.
I just choose it, based on pictures which is shown/printed on the page hotels.com.

No swimming pool.
I brought my son, who advised to book a hotel that has a pool.
And the photo room is very spacious, while the actual is narrow and congested.

I hope these pictures are replace and install the actual situation photos of the hotel, so customers do not feel cheated and disappointed.

Hotel is located in shopping area. It's easy to access the hotel. From airport you can take bus direct to the Mangga Dua Square where the hotel is located. The breakfast was good.

Dissapointing experience overall

First of all, the advertised picture is wrong. This Ibis-styles hotel doesn't have pool. It's on the 8th and 9th floor inside a building.

When we checked in the recption employee made us feel inappropriate. Even though we were decent looking and polite she asked us for a security caution for the room of 500.000 IDR. We were surprised by this because we've stayed in many other 3* hotels in Jakarta and were expecting a normal 100.000 IDR as a security deposit for the key. The check-in employee also didn't care to explain what the deposit was for and just observed our confusion while we asked for the purpose and handed over the money.

The first room we were given was nice and new, except for a disgusting smell of urine coming from the shower drain. We called housekeeping who came to spray a chemical, but that didn't solve the problem. We went to complain and were giving another room and a complimentary dinner for two as a compensation from the manager.

That made us feel ok again until check-out when that same reception employee made us feel inappropriate again, this time asking about a bill for a phone-call supposedly made from our room. When we asked to check the room number and name, she came up with someone else's name that supposedly stayed in our room in stead of us, and when we suggested to call the number for clarity, we just received more looks of disbelief while she let us go.

The room on itself was good value for the price though, and breakfast buffet was good.

De prijs valt mee, maar het was een best wel donkere kamer en het doucheputje was verstopt. Meerdere malen hebben we het hotelpersoneel erover verteld, maar het werd niet gefixt. Er was ook een klein kevertje in de kamer.
