This appears to be an older facility than hasn’t been updated. The staff were really nice and accommodating and the breakfast was great. You were only give two towels and when asked for more they only brought up one extra.

The lobby and staff were amazing at Grand Dafam. Every morning Leila was very pleasant and made sure we were taken care of. Our first room had mold in it but after addressing our concerns with hotel manager Joco, we were upgraded to an executive suite. Joco provided great customer service. Overall the staff and breakfast made our stay at this hotel wonderful.

Not so good.

Probably just renovating or not. But the hotel was not like how described. We found a bowl of noodles in the fridge from a previous customer. The pool was dark and dirty looking. The road near by was noisy day and night.

Would love to come back !

I booked a superior non-smoking room for just one night but they said none is available at that moment. But the receptionist then kindly free upgraded our room to deluxe one. Thank you ! Nice and cozy room. But the lift is a little bit creepy it made a sound like it needs a better maintenance or something while going up from 5-10 floor.

Food was fantastic very good choices, great buffet cant go any further. What l didn't like was not enough staffing on Sundays, Buffet food ran out, plates in several section ran out. . I had to clear my own table to sit , Restaurant Manager could hardly be seen. These issues could easily be fied but l had no problems regarding this ,the Management should take as a positive feedback and not negative.

Dirty & undermaintained property

The rooms are very dirty, got insects everywhere.
The aircon is useless, we changed 3 rooms and nothing changed.

The room is not even close to what we see in the pictures.
Its super dirty, the aircon dosent work, its stuffy.

Very unclean, with insects all over and washroom has cockroaches.

Even after changing 4 rooms there is no difference.

Stubborn Staff at the Concierge!

It was a terrible experience at the concierge. We made a booking for 2 BR apartment, the staff at the front insists that it was only 1BR even after showing after printed confirmation details. We had to argue for 30mins before they acknowledged it was their mistake in the system.

Very disappointing

Really disappointing stay at Hotel Aston Marina.
Day 1:
Once inside the lobby there was a very sharp smell of cigarette in the reception area. There is a smoking location but the smell is spread throughout the lobby. Not healthy for family which bring kids.
The room that we ordered using a Queen Size bed and not available, unique, but we have booked since April 2017.

Day 2:
We were transferred to another room and it was adjacent to the highway so that the sound of the trailer came to our room. The impermeable system did not go well.

Day 3:
We were moved to 22nd floor and very dirty condition. The floor of the room felt sticky.

We were disappointed to stay at the Aston Marina. Unresponsive staff, management (Manager On Duty) contacted very difficult. A holiday that ended in disappointment.

Nice hotel

We stayed 1 night, reserved for non smoking room but was given smoking room.
The room was newly renovated so it was very nice and clean. however, it seems that the bathroom was not included in the renovation.
We were allowed entrance to the restaurant for breakfast, but no table were available. There should be some sort of table management during breakfast, but it was great selections on the buffet and plenty of food.
Staff was friendly. However, during check out we asked whether parking ticket is needed to get free parking and the fo said yes, my wife ran to the car to get the ticket but it turns out we were given a voucher and it was not necessary to get the ticket. Just need to pay attention to what the customer is saying.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. Nice hotel.

Nice but can be improved

I was happy with the location, but a little a bit confused with the entrance of the Hotel. The lift kept jamming and my room card is not working. Uber always confuses how to pick us up and the surrounding always packed and heavy traffic. The room is lack of maintenance, but the buffet is delicious and very high variety. Although, the price of the buffet is sky rocket.

Old & dirty - Not worth the $$

Not near any attractions or decent food and shopping areas. The lift was EXTREMELY slow as there was only 2 and it services almost 40 floors with many units on each level. The rooms were dirty and my skin had rashes all over after seating on the chairs and sofa. Breakfast choices were varied by quality was bad. I liked the smoothies and eggs cause they were the only thing that felt fresh. My friend saw a cockroach on top of the coffee machine and wondered if it crawled into the beans =S You've to walk out in the sun (or rain) to get a cab due to the location.

Very surprised!

Having stayed in Aston Pluit, my expectations were not high! However, I was greeted with a smile, and check in was very swift, and professional. I had requested a bath, as after a 15 hour flight, I needed a long soak, and reconfirmed while at the desk. I was given a free upgrade, which I was never offered at Aston Pluit! When I got to my room, no bath! A quick call to Reception, and they very quickly moved me. On moving, I found that although the room was made up, and clean, the mini bar was virtually empty. Another call to Reception, and they noted it! The room was very spacious, and clean, but smelled a little musty? Again, not a problem. The bath was superb, and the water, super hot! Deciding to order room service, I couldn't be find a menu. On the 'hotline' to Reception, and they sent one straight up! The layout of the room is a little odd! There is a sofa, and table and chairs, but you had to go to the bedroom, to watch TV! Breakfast buffet was very varied, with Western, Asian and also Arabic foods. The food was hot, and plentiful. (Aston Pluit, take note) All in all, it was worth the money!

Nice hotel close to amusement park and beach

Although the room was booked and paid for however when I arrived past mid night the booked room was not available so we were put to a smaller size room and was switched the next day. Overall it was a good experience.

Beautiful place with beautiful people :-)

My stay was excellent from check in to check out.
This is my opinion due to loving the Indonesian culture and the warm welcome from the people.
So for any one else to travel their I say one thing for you to be able to enjoy the people and cultures.. You must go with an open mind as to they live and do things differently to us in Australia.. Always show respect, don't be tight throw out a tip our dollar goes a long way over they..
For the hotel excellent 10/10 but I would like to see some area info in the room and and iron would be good to..
I would love to thank all of you staff for make my stay comfortable and feeling welcomed to you hotel and country...

Horrible Experience

I had a horrible stay at the hotel where the elevator didnt work all day, and sometimes would take 15 minutes for me to get anywhere. I had ordered lunch at the restaurant, and despite being maybe only the 7th person there at that time, the food took almost 35 minutes to arrive. Not to mention, there was not a single item in the mini bar so I couldn't even get water in the room and because there wasn't any supermarket close by, I had to walk a long distance to get water. The Wifi was impossible, it never connected and I had to use my data roaming the whole time. At 83 SGD/night I would expect that it would be on the higher end in Jakarta but this was just awful. The corridors were dated, the sheets didn't seem clean and the water tub leaked. Overall awful experience and I probably would never stay here or recommend anyone to stay there.

It was a good room but the elevator was terrible almost 15 minutes I've been waited it's too long time for me only one elevator each side that we cause.e, one of them was non active, should be fixed.
I like breakfast menu it s very nice food, and also I like the receptions they are very nice to guests and friendly especially fabian I like him how to handle me quickly when checked in.

I recommend this hotel to travellers
Besides the room is good also this hotel has roof top bar at 33 degree it was vert nice view, especially at night the view was awesome!!

Nice room but otherwise awful

The room was very nice for the price. Everything else about my stay was terrible. The service in the bars and restaurants was awful. The food and drinks were way overpriced. One of two elevators was broken so it was always a long wait. The only place to get Wi-Fi was downstairs in the lobby which was especially annoying since I had a lot of work to do while I was there and couldn't do it from the comfort of my room. The power went out in my room (only my room)! The room service menu was old so I couldn't order anything on it and no new menu was available so I had to ask about every I might want and then try to communicate my wants to someone who didn't understand me. Though the front desk staff was friendly and apologetic, they didn't really do much to help or offer anything to make up for all the problems I had. I am used to traveling around Indonesia in far less comfortable conditions and don't mind it but I was going for comfort this trip. I really needed to relax but just found myself increasingly frustrated.

For my stay I experienced the AC for my room was very hot I tried to call the reception but their is no answer .. I tried many times resulting with no answer.
Then I called in duitey manager and his excuse for the reception that they are busy and he will help me in this issue I waited for half an hour and no body came then I tried to call him he didn't answer then I tried to call again the reception and he said he don't know about it and he will send somebody to check it after calling many times and arguing with them he finally come and spend 15 min until he repair it..
The hotel is not comfort and for breakfast it was good
For the location for hotel also good
Crowded people at the elevator and u have to wait some time for 15 min

Good location

Liked more space in 1 bedroom apartment. Used the business centre for internet as free internet stations only offered specific sites. Accommodation comfortable and suited my needs. Used the pool which was great and enjoyed the availability of other cheaper shops such as salon, mini market around the pool.

Nice Hotel Disappointing Service

Lovely room and the hotel was quite nice in terms of facilities and layout (except a very tired and broken gym) Hotel was let down by staff on reception and in restaurant who simply didnt care which was surprising. Internet didnt work - was told it would work soon, after several checks with reception i was told it probably wouldn't work until the next day. It still hadn't come back on by the time I checked out the next day. Without internet I needed directions to a road less than a mile away but reception couldnt help me and didnt care. Restaurant was overpriced, poor food and terrible service. Having said that the room was great, clean and spacious and the hotel was well located for Ancol and road to airport. You cannot walk to this hotel though - bit rough around the outside!

Perfect for family but bad quality food

Stayed 1 night in Two Bedrooms Apartment. The room was clean and spacious. Services were great. But food is too salty and free parking ticket can be used once only, so I had to pay for parking since I returned to the hotel a few times. (This is the first time I pay for parking while staying at hotel)

1) Rooms: Sheets were reasonably clean, floor and sofa had stains, found a cockroach in the cabinet so dared not use the plates provided, aircon leaked on the last night. 2) Location: Near Mangga Dua but not very safe nieghbourhood. 3) Staff: Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and speaks reasonable English. 4) Transport: By foot to nearby Mangga Dua (which is not very safe as advised by hotel staff). Taxi hailing with help of hotel concierge is relatively easy.

Will not stay here again

Very friendly staff; included breakfast which was a plus. We stayed in a two bedroom suite which was decent in size but there was mold on the wall below the air conditioning unit in one room and ants on the bed in the other. The floor wasnt clean nor was it cleaned when we asked for the room to be made up. There was a lot of mold in the shower and around the bottom of the toilet. The tv in the larger room didn't have a good signal we couldn't watch tv. The hotel has an extremely bad odor which eminated from the first floor from poor water and waste drainage. They attempt to mask the foul smell with aerosol sprays but the odor is so strong that it reached us on the 23rd floor and woke us several times each night. Although the staff was really friendly, I would never stay here again. I'm quite surprised this has been given a four star rating by others.

OK Hotel by Mangga Dua

Service was fine, breakfast was great. Room was a little dirty and there were some ants in the bathroom (not many, just a couple). The room was very muggy when I came in, but the AC units cleared that up pretty quickly once they turned on (only turn on when someone is in the room).I was a little ticked one day that the maid didn't shut my door all the way....so you probably want to use the safe in the room... Overall, ok hotel, nothing special.

Perfect for getting to Thousand Islands

Basic hotel near to the marina where we needed to go to catch the ferry to Pulau Putri. Rooms are good-sized, but a little run down and needing of maintenance. Air-conditioning not very cold in the rooms, balcony filthy and showerhead sprays water upwards to the ceiling. The elevators also take forever even though there were 4 of them running. The free wi-fi does not work in the room coz we were on the 20th floor and reception does not carry that high up.

The complimentary buffet breakfast offered a pretty good spread to cater to all taste. The bar looked like a nice to to chill and hang-out, but was closed for a private funtion the nite we were there so did not get a chance to check it out.

On business, so I was picked up every morning at 8 AM. Great breakfast buffet. Lots of fruit. There are two small stores around behind hotel if you don't want to pay $5 for a Coke. Out front door, turn right to alley and right again to stores.

This hotel was a good choice for me. Everything was just like any other hotel of that calibre, but the people there, the bellboys, the reception staff, the chef and dining staff were extremely warm and family-like, and could not do enough to help me. I would choose this hotel again because of that.

If you are looking to spend time

If you are looking to spend time for recreation and/or shopping, then This is the right place, as it is located next to Ancol dreamland and amusement park (Famtasy World). iI It is also very near the Mangga dua shopping mall. If you fancy taking a stroll and visiting museum around the old Batavia (old Jakarta), this is also a good place. The facilities in this hotel is good (swimming pool and small gym), but the food is so so. The rooms are spacious (apartment style) with kitchen where you can cook your own food.

Not Impressed

There is nothing special about the hotel, except the location which is relatively near to the Jakarta's airport. The hotel is located near highway and I could hear the noise from my room. The bathroom is not well maintained and the towel quality is very bad. I stayed there for only one night to catch the first flight in the next morning. I requested take away breakfast (fried rice and sandwich), but the taste was bad. It's more than enough for me to get the hotel's experience.

The staffs are all very friendly & helpful. My son fell ill & they even called a doctor to our room to check on my boy. The location is quite near to mangga dua. I would recommend this hotel to other travellers...
