Excellent location near Angers castle.

The location is excellent. We arrived early evening so parked for free on road outside by the castle. Next morning, 9am, we paid we paid €10 for 6hrs at the meter. Reception guy was friendly and helpful. Suggested places to eat and areas to explore. Hotel is not modern or spacious, but has character and a nice change from the usual chain hotels.

Highly Recommended for a stay in Angers

This hotel surpassed our expectations. We had read good reviews, particularly of the service, but we were not prepared for such a wonderful welcome. We arrived a little early but Christophe immediately went to see if the room could be prepared for us as soon as possible and gave us a very welcome coffee while we waited.

This set the tone for our stay. Christophe and Pierre Louis were friendly, helpful and available for advice, information and help whenever needed.

The hotel is a walk of less than 15 minutes from the station, and has a wonderful location right opposite the castle. The view from our room was amazing.
The entrance is via a keypad on a door next to the cafe which leads straight to the stairs and the rooms. There is no lift as such but there is a luggage lift so no need to carry suitcases up the stairs.

The cafe which is part of the hotel is frequented by locals, always a good sign. It's well worth taking the continental breakfast here, with as much delicious coffee as you want, and a good choice of food including baguettes and mouthwatering croissants fresh from the boulangerie right next door. Good value for money at 11 Euros each.

Our room was not particularly plush, but warm and comfortable with a good size bathroom, perfect for what we needed.

We plan to return to Angers to explore the area further and will certainly stay at the Marguerite d'Anjou next time we visit.

After 8pm access was via a side door not through the cafe reception on weekends. …… or after 9pm mid week.
Access to our room was to climb one flight stairs then get the lift.

What a super small hotel this is. While the rooms and facilities are simple, the quality of service and personal attention is exceptional. The castle is literally on the doorstep.

This Hotel is AMAZING! The staff was very kind, the espresso is great, it is a fantastic location, and the rooms were clean. Would definitely recommend adding on the breakfast too, there is a table set for you in the morning and everything. The owners were also very helpful with navigating the area since I have never been to Angers before. Would recommend this place to anyone i know visiting Angers

Good basic accommodation with a great view.

Location is the best feature of this hotel - right across the street from the magnificant castle and within easy walking distance of city center and public transporation. Room was small, clean and simply furnished and fine for our needs. Shower appeared to be a recent upgrade. There are rooms on 4 floors; no elevator but there is a luggage lift. Biggest issue was the very inconsistent wifi - connection was lost frequently.

A Room with a View

I loved this simple, affordable hotel. The best part was the location, just across the street from the absolutely stunning Chateau d'Angers. My room faced the Chateau and I could just gaze upon it at night as I tried to overcome my jet lag. I love that the rooms were above a real French cafe where breakfast was served each morning. The cafe itself seemed to be popular with the locals. The two members of the staff I met were friendly and helpful. One helped me call a cab when I needed to go to the emergency room, and the other was quick to help when I needed to change my reservation (she helped me keep my precious room facing the chateau). In sum, while this hotel is not \"luxurious,\" its atmosphere is perfect.

Central location at a budget price

I stayed two nights for business and was looking for a budget option. The hotel is not exactly a business hotel but clean and at a budget price. Reception is in the bar on the main floor. At 9:00 pm the bar closes and guests must enter by a side door with a code.

Close to Chateau d'Angers

Nice enough hotel, although wifi signal in room (4th floor toward the rear of the hotel) was virtually non existent.
There were curtains in the room, but no blinds. Not so good if you're a light sensitive sleeper (which most humans are). Other rooms I saw had them, just not this particular one.
The area around the hotel is exceptionally beautiful, and a visit to the Chateau is a must.

Nice place but noisy room

The hotel is nice, entrance by a pub with really nice people at the recetpion.
Only problem is that i had a room with terrace shared with the airconditionner motor of a restaurant. Impossoble to sleep with the noise.
I recommend this hotel but not the room i had.

Tout était parfait mais tres gros point noir : pas de parking. Une vraie galère, de plus tout est payant.
On a du se garer a 1km de votre etablissement. Nous venions pour une competition et nous devions nous lever tôt le dimanche matin, il a en plus fallu prevoir 40 minutes de marche pour récupérer la voiture.!!!!

Chambre - à peu près faite - : papier froissé par terre à côté poubelle sous la table-bureau, un des 2 savons déjà ouvert dans SDB.
Voisins bruyants entre 2h et 3h du matin.
Wi-fi non fonctionnel malgré le « réamorçage » de mon iPad, essayé une bonne vingtaine de fois, autant le soir que le matin...
