We were quite disappointed with our stay. We came back from a show (approx 9.20pm) to be told there was no way we could get any food. The kitchen was closed. We were happy to have something in our room but there was nothing available. We couldn't believe as residents that we could not get any food in an establishment.
The pool was very cold too and the music was very loud and clearly audible from our room late into the night so not ideal with a young child.
The breakfast was nice and the waitress serving was very kind and attentive.

We stayed overnight for a wedding nearby and wish we could have stayed longer. Lovely area, and surroundings. The bar area downstairs is excellent and the room was ideal (slightly dated but everything we needed and we had a nice quiet sleep).
I have to leave a note for the Collette in reception, she was able to arrange an early check in, and book a taxi as well as just being lovely to deal with. If im in the area again, this will be my hotel.

Leisure centre POOL was excellent especially the times that it was open from 06:30 am. Great.

Cups in bedroom MUCH TOO SMALL PLEASE Put in a decent sized mug or cup .
You also need at least ONE LAMP with a LED lightbulb that is bright enough to read with. All the lights are yellow light and very dim !!!!

Lovely, comfortable hotel at a great price. Staff were great. I had a very bad sore throat when I came down for breakfast and the receptionist noticed and immediately ordered a hot lemon and honey drink for me which was waiting for me at the table when I sat down! That's what makes for a great customer experience.

On a positive, the staff were very friendly and helpful, however, the food was some of the worst I've had on my frequent business travels. All of the 3 dishes were clearly microwaved. The dishes were warmer than the food. The chicken wings and water residue, the chowder was watery and without any flavour. The apple crumble was awful and arrived within 3 minutes of ordering and had been clearly shoved in a microwave. For the price paid it was horrendous.

With regards the rooms, they are a bit dated. Though I had a coffee pod machine which was good and the view from room was nice.

Very noisy corridor, inconsiderate guests, loud up to 11:15pm including small children and guests entering room opposite, they were American so to be expected really. After 15mins of noise, tried calling reception then challenged the noise from the Americans, didn’t stop them being noisy the following evening saying night night to each other

Great location and lots of parking. Short walk to the town.
Friendly check in and complimentary desserts in the room were provided as it was our wedding anniversary.
The room was a really good size and looks like it has a recent refurb.
The leisure centre staff were very friendly and the pool was of a good size.
A good size and tasty breakfast.
We did not have an evening meal but used the bar for drinks.
All in all a really good stay.

Relaxing stay

Location is great, lovely sunny view while eating breakfast in the morning, ample parking and warm welcome.
We’re a mother and 2 daughter over night getaway and it was perfect for us to chat and relax. We all commented next morning however, that the speaker music plays in the corridor all night and you can hear it inside the room which given the hotel is so quiet, this music lets that side down.
Also we visited the pool next morning, were greeted and given towels, we entered the pool without swim hats. We had no idea we needed them, another swimmer commented on it to us. I think along with presenting the towels, the attendant should be letting hotel guests know this. Our lovely little getaway is a solid 8/10!

Amazing location. Food over priced and not the best. Hotel is really a solid 3 star trying to be more. However needs a complete cosmetic overall throughout.
FYI don’t take rooms at back overlooking cemetery and above events hall- loud. Checkin lady Emma is the best. Smart and on the ball. Cleaning staff also friendly and greet you with a smile. Service when needed was very quick I.e needing water, toilet paper, ice pack etc.

Dinner was somewhat disappointing. There was a very large traveling group (two large tour buses) that seemed to have most of the staff tied up. Service was slow and though the food wasnt bad, it didnt seem to live up to the accolades posted all around the hotel. It was also overpriced for what we recieved.

Breakfast, however, was FANTASTIC. The food was delicious and we were able to have a comfortable leisurely breakfast. If we were to stay here again we would skip the bar and dining room and make sure to avail ourselves of the breakfast.

We booked this hotel online. We arrived just a few minutes after 9 and check in was quick. We had a light meal at the restaurant as the kitchen was closing. The staff were helpful and friendly. The lobby is beautiful and the room was adequate. However the view from the room was awful. You were an immediate neighbor of a cemetery and your view was large headstones. Also, there was a large corrugated metal roof running along the outside of the hotel right under you window, so it made the view out your window even worse. I would recommend the road side if you stay here as you at least can look out at the bay across the street. The window barely opens so it made a hot night for sleeping as well.

My new go-to in West Cork

Due to a bit of poor planning on my part, we arrived at the Celtic Ross almost five hours before normal check-in time after an overnight flight and a three hour drive from Dublin. We were wrecked with fatigue and desperate to sleep.

The staff covered for me. They fed us breakfast while the housekeeping crew hurriedly prepared two rooms that had just been vacated by departing guests.

The restaurant and bar facilities are clean and modern, there's ample parking, and the view from the outdoor dining area is idyllic.

If I had to find anything with which to quibble, I'd say the bed was a bit hard for my taste. A USB charging port or two in the room would also have been nice.

We were only here for one night, but the kindness and attention we received helped to ensure that it won't be our last.

Great hotel, great staff and great location. Very good breakfast too.
Toilets near reception need a thorough clean - looked as if the bowl overflowed at some stage and the underneath of the bowl needs cleaning.
The bar is an uncomfortable place to have a drink at night - the lighting is dreadful - far too bright. Thankfully the village right beside hotel has other options for an evening drink

A little gem, perfect for this beautiful town

We were given the wrong room so had to go back to reception and request a change - ordered a family room overlooking the lake with a double and two single beds. Got a room with one double bed. The people at reception were fantastic and explained there had been issues with our booked room. They gave us the next best alternative. It did the job just fine, didn't have the view we had requested but we just went outside and looked at it instead.
The staff were all super friendly and all very helpful. Great fun was had in the pool.
The area is simply amazing. The sun was out and glistening on the lagoon. We hired a few kayaks (at an amazingly low price) and just had the most perfect morning strolling around spotting fish and birds.

We had a large room with a queen and three twins. All of the front desk staff were very helpful. One knew a vast amount about Irish history and told us a lot of interesting information. Such a beautiful town, really world class, and a great hotel with beautiful views. Lovely updated and clean bathrooms, but the room furnishings could do with updating. Overall, a great stay, and I will DEFINITELY be back.
