The room was below standard of what we expected, very small, no natural light, tatty furnishings, bathroom very dated, shower inadequate, had to stand with hand shower in bath without a shower curtain, very dangerous, no slip mat. All in all very disappointed.

Great Family Run Hotel

Very friendly welcome and we were in a room with its own access from the garden. We came here about the same time last year and enjoyed it so much, we returned this year. It is at the top of the hill above Holmbush car park, about half a mile from the centre of Lyme, but we enjoyed finding different routes into town.

Very friendly, both at check in and at breakfast. As I had a single room, it was lovely to be able to sit for a while in the gardens & residents lounge. Parking on site was a real bonus. The property is in a quiet street and only a 10 minute walk to the sea front

Kersbrook hotel is a beautiful thatched roof hotel in Lyme Regis within walking distance of the town and the famous Cobb. The full English breakfasts were amazing and the staff were wonderful! The hotel had special significance since I used to live next door in the 1960’s. My only complaint, and this is true of all English country hotels, is that the shower was difficult to to use. Overall, a wonderful experience. Thank you Alex

Great place to stay to explore Lyme Regis

We booked this at short notice after being let down by another hotel. The welcome we received was excellent. We were made ti feel very welcome. Our room (The Studio) was quite large and accessed by a winding metal stairway, so not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was vety good.
Breakfasts were also excellent - buffet style cereals etc plus cooked breakfast.
The hotel is a steep walk up from the town in Lyme, so that would need to be borne in mind. But otherwise a great place to stay while exploring Lyme Regis and the adjacent area

We had a really nice weekend away staying here. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really good, there was plenty of choice including a traditional cooked breakfast, kippers or haddock and eggs also cereal, toast, and fruit. The service was really good, everyone was friendly and polite. Just a small warning, the hotel is at the top of a very steep hill, though ideal situation for getting to the shops, restaurants and beach!

Lovely hotel, 5 minutes walk from everything Lyme Regis has to offer, free and easy parking at the hotel, which is always great to have.

Nice location in a beautiful part of Dorset

Stayed for one night in blazing hot June 2022. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and switched our room on arrival to better accommodate my wife who is in a wheelchair. Being an old character property with narrow corridors and some steps, it was not ideal for a wheelchair but everything was done to help us out as best as possible. Very comfortable stay, nice to have onsite parking and the freshly cooked breakfast with quality ingredients was excellent, far better than a lot of expensive hotels we have been to recently!

Upon our arrival we were made to feel very welcome and was advised on where to eat out. Our room on the first floor was very comfortable, light and airy overlooking the garden seen through our bay window. The cooked breakfasts were excellent with a good selection of cereals and fruit catering for most people’s tastes.

Stayed here for work. Lovely old 18th century, characterful cottage. I had booked a single room but was given a small twin room which was really nice of the owners ( Davies family)
The bed was comfortable and the room was cosy and warm. Perhaps a cordless kettle would be safer than the current corded kettle?
Breakfast was superb with sausage and bacon sourced from the local prize-winning local butcher. Overall a great stay

It’s at the top of a long hill, there are no footpaths on the road outside the B&B, the bed in room 2, is very hard and uncomfortable, there’s traffic noise all night, the carpet is filthy, they covered some of it with a rug that was even dirtier, there is dust everywhere, the car park was at the top of a long stepped path, no help offered with luggage, the staff at breakfast were very good, we had some bad news while at this b&b,we were informed that we had had a water leak at home and would have to leave early but we were still charged the full price,no compassion from management, needless to say we won’t be returning to this establishment, can’t in all faith recommend it to anybody.

It’s in Lyme Regis but up a very steep hill no good if you struggle with walking car is must.We had a family room it was clean one light bulb was out and there was a horrible damp smell from the cubard were you hang your clothes it needs a good clean on scurting boards and a referb to bring it up to date.The garden was nice breakfast was acceptable for the money we paid.

We spent 10 days in UK without a plan securing accommodations for a family of 4 as we moved from place to place. This was one of the best and we were lucky to find it. Check in was very easy and the room was set up for all 4 of us, clean and comfortable. Walking distance to the beach area, pubs and dining.

The plus here is the staff as well as the owners who are very helpful. e.g. recommending evening eateries (we arrived quite late so Alex was able to book us a meal at the local Italian) , he also took time out describing the town and its features. Breakfast is well organised (despite the full occupancy when we stayed) and of generally good quality.
A nice touch was the offer of a couple of coffees one afternoon when we dropped back. When it came to settling our bill they would not accept any payment for these.

Not bad, but don't get ocean view

Great staff, great breakfast. Bed was hard and lumpy. 2nd floor ocean view was partial, across a narrow street and over rooftops. Street is noisy: constant traffic. Worst was that seagulls nest on the roof across the street and make an unbelievable racket at 3am. I imagine the back of the building is much quieter.

Good hotel in Lyme Regis

I enjoyed my stay especially the well cooked and well presented breakfasts. The full English was above reproach.
Owners and staff warm and friendly.
Especially happy with the quality of room service.
I don't often think about the sheets / bed linen but it was of a fantastic quality. Wonderful to get into bed each evening.
Will definitely stay at the Kersbrook again...

Good base in Lyme Regis

We stayed for 2 nights and received a really warm, friendly and helpful welcome. We stayed in an attic room which had a tired bathroom lacking in facilities but I think other rooms were probably better appointed.

All the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were delicious.

The hotel provides a good base for exploring Lyme Regis and the surrounding area.

What a shame.

Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. Having been charged extra for a twin room we expected more. Room Small and in need of cleaning & refurbishment. Cold buffet part of breakfast also poor, items that were eaten were not replenished at all during our stay (6 days).

Well run hotel, with polite and friendly staff. Breakfast's that set you up for the day. Decor slighty tired in places but that might add to it's charm. Seaview rooms face on to at times a busy road so are not that quiet. Car parking is a bit tight for numbers but gardens a well kept and tidy. We would quite happily stsy here again

Great location

The hotel was very close to The Cobb and the sea front, just a 5 minute walk. If you struggle with walking up hills Lyme Regis probably isn't for you anyway but it is worth noting that it is a reasonably steep hill back from the beach to the b&b.
We enjoyed a good full English breakfast on each morning and the service was good.
My only criticism would be that the room decor was a little tired, some of the paper was peeling away at the top of the wall although this didn't bother us.
