With two dogs, we appreciated the safe and scenic spaces to walk around. The Bark Park outdoor field, with its sandpit and climbing equipment, was brilliant. Overall, we couldn't fault anything. The restaurant/food was perfect.

The room was lovely and perfectly clean, but the towels were old and not of a standard I'd expect. The fire escape light shone all night in the room - recommend bringing a mask to sleep!

Lovely grounds but filthy room not cleaned!

Lovely location and pretty, well maintained grounds. However, our room was sadly really dirty for a hotel which isn’t budget. It definitely hadn’t been cleaned from the previous guests. There was tobacco on the floor and the shower and sink were honestly gross. We were scared to even use the towels. Ran a wipe over the bath and the wipe was black. The bedside tables weren’t so much as even wiped. Tv didn’t work. Such a shame as we had a baby with us who wants to crawl everywhere so it made it a pretty stressful stay. Should’ve read the previous review as it echoes the same. I honestly hate to be that person to leave a bad review but in this case it was more than warranted. Didn’t bother going to tell the reception as it seems the previous person who complained didn’t get anywhere.

Ok but could be so much better

Came here for a weekend getaway but didnt quite meet up to expectations. It was labelled as a luxury escape yet lacked basics such as milk for a cuo of tea on arrival or shampoo and conditioner. We stayed in a studio but found there werent even wine glasses yet there was a cork screw, and there was insufficient cuttlery as if things had gone missing and hadnt been replaced. The room wa snice enough, but the bed spings very noisy whenever you moved and the room was very light in the morning easpecially given there was a small glass pane in the door that couldn't be covered. We also found that the noise from other units travelled easily and we could hear people laughing downstairs. Location was great however and lots to do in the area. The other things to note was that there were a couple of larger groups that were quite loud and so for a couple looking for a quiet break it wasnt the place for us. However, if your a group lookkng for a place to all stay it might be perfect for you.

Stayed in suite, facilities fine but was one of the warmest weeks of the year and the room had only a small opening skylight. There was a floor fan but still stifling. That the only criticism - staff friendly and went the extra mile. Nice relaxed stay apart from the stifling room temperature. If not so hot would have been five stars.

The room was beautiful and it was nice to have separate bedrooms and a fully stocked kitchen with big refrigerator. Grounds are beautiful and it was a quick drive down to Lyme Regis where we spent quite a bit of time enjoying the coast.

A few converted barns in the middle of a working farm. Still run by the farmers. A luxury apartment was awful. Stains on the floor and mattresses. Cobwebs and dust everywhere. For £250 a night. AVOID!!

If you are staying for just one night bring toiletries and milk etc for making a hot drink as neither are provided.

Cranberries Hideaway is a hidden gem in the heart of the countryside, and a stones throw from Lyme Regis. The owner is the nicest man, super helpful and accommodating. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend this B&B which also offers self catering too.

Wouldn’t describe as a hotel and spa, rather b&b

Not a typical hotel and spa having done many luxury stays. This is more informal and would perhaps be better advertised as a b&b as a more accurate description. Hotels tend to make the beds everyday and replenish the bedroom with water and tea etc, and the spa’s are highly luxurious. This wasn’t the case and is more basic, e.g polycotton sheets, ageing off white towels, lumpy pillows, marked carpets, not quite the high end or high quality expected from what they advertise it to be, however once we got past the this is was nice a break.
The communication on check in wasn’t grand and we found things a bit disorganised amongst the staff but I found that if you asked for things the staff would happily help. The spa is a nice add on but if you’re going with the intention of a luxurious spa you might be a tad disappointed. All in all, nice place if looking for a down to earth place and plan to spend more time out and about rather than in a spa setting.

On arriving at cranberries hideaway it looks beautiful and luxurious. When you enter your cottage it is definitely not luxurious. Cobwebs and dust. Nothing matches. The old brown leather sofa was worn, the sofa cushions and curtains smelt horrific, like old stale chip fat. My husband phoned and arranged some extras as it was my birthday the day of arrival. For £60 we got a bottle of prosecco and some fake stained rose petals on the bed..... FOR £60!!!!!!! The cranberries host weddings so dread to think how many beds those petals have been on. Very tacky. Obviously i asked for my money back and to be fair it was put back in my bank in a matter of hours with a text stating we could keep the prosecco as a token of good gesture. The customer service is none existant as well as the house keeping. We didnt have our towels or bedding changed in 4 nights. For £225 a night we expected a lot more luxury. On a slightly more positive note, lyme regis beach is 15 minutes drive, be prepared to fight for parking and book ahead if eating out in the evening. Would definitely not stay again.

Overnight stay for a 40th birthday party

We stayed in the Musgrave room which was very large, well laid out and modern. There was a free standing bath in the room as well as a full shower room. Facilities included a small fridge, tea, coffee and kettle plus a coffee pod machine. The only criticism would be that the heating was not already on which when this was a February stay meant the room was on the cold side.

The location is lovely. Poor signage onsite meant it was hard to navigate. Nice room, but damage to some furniture. Lovely bathroom. Never anyone in reception. Failed to return an item left in the room, requested just 2 days after our departure. Customer service is very poor, non-responsive to some emails and pretty rude.

Probably the nicest place in the area having seen a few others. Went up for a wedding. Very clean and friendly staff when they could be found.
Fridge in room made loud noises all night which was bad for a light sleeper but overall a very nice place.

Not even a little bit “Luxury”.

This place has a long way to go before it can call itself “luxury”.
From filthy blinds that don’t fully cover the windows (including on that was off its rail so you couldn’t open it even if you wanted to!) to a falsely advertised restaurant, this totally did not warrant the £250 we spent for two nights in the middle of June 2018.
There was no record of the massage I’d booked even though I had conformations and the response to me questioning this was met with “I dunno...that’s bizarre”. It was like trying to talk to a wall.
Online, the restaurant promises local produce and a good looking menu, in reality, it was two pages of badly photocopied white paper with just one vegetarian option and non of the nice steak options listed online. The kitchen were nice enough to make me a mac and cheese portion from the children’s menu, as a large portion. This was listed as a “four cheese mac and cheese” but tasted more like Heinz from a tin.
There were chipped plates in the cupboard and all the glasses were dirty, there were signs everywhere telling us to recycle but no separate bins to do so.
It feels like I’m a few years, with a lot of work, this could live up to it’s “luxury hideaway” promise. Certainly not right now though.

Hayloft at the Cranberries Hideaway

Really pleased with our stay! The Cranberries is a really pleasant new development, everything was nicely furnished, clean and very comfortable. We (2 adults, 2 young children) stayed in the Hayloft - I think the pictures on the website need updating, as it doesn't do justice to the reality.

Poor stay at this so called 'luxury' hotel
Room was poorly prepared prior to our stay, not cleaned fully and no basics such as hand soap or shower gel.
Room was extremely noisy, hearing every footstep from upstairs.
Scaffolding was taken down at 8AM one morning, meaning no sleep and rudely awoken. No apology from the staff.
Restaurant not open during the week, meaning no meals. Very poor from a £100 a night stay!

We have since tried emailing the hotel as we left a phone charger, but no emails or calls have been returned. Very poor service.

Falling shy of Luxury

Overall I lovely location and a lovely venue. The shower is particularly impressive. Unfortunately, I cannot call it \"luxury\", as there were lots of little missed opportunities which took away from the experience.

Top of the list the lack of wifi connection. It would be good to know up front that there isn't any wifi at this location in your room.

The limited cutlery and crockery in the kitchen was frustrating. The ability to cook and eat comfortably and affordably whilst away is one of the big draws for picking self catering. Finding 2 of each piece of cutlery and crockery felt petty and impractical.

Having put tea, coffee and sugar in the apartments, it would have been nice to have included milk, or not to put any.

It felt like you'd gone most of the way way and then just held back.

Having stayed in cottages before, in some of the better ones we've been greet with fresh scones, cream, milk, sugar, tea, coffee, salt, pepper AND oil. These may seem like little things, however they have a big impact on guests and our ability to make home cooked meal. Otherwise it's effectively a glorified hotel room.

It's a real shame because there is the makings of a wonderful place, but the value for money was missing for me and the little missed opportunities meant that the experience didn't feel luxury.

Amazing views!!

We thought being a 'luxury' accommodation there may have been a welcome pack, but just sachets of coffee etc, very basic toiletries also. But we enjoyed our stay. Amazing views from the top of the farm and can be at the coast in approximately 15 minutes
