I chose this hotel mainly because of the pool. The first photo shows a beautiful pool, and it was the key reason for my booking. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I found out that the pool was not working. This was very disappointing, especially because it was not clearly mentioned in advance.

The room was generally okay, but some areas were not very clean. The hair dryer was fixed with a short cord, which was not very convenient. There was also no place to dry a swimsuit. On the positive side, the bed was very big and comfortable. Towels were changed every day, which was nice.

Breakfast was sufficient, but the choice of food was not the best.

Overall, the stay was acceptable, but the closed pool really affected my experience.

It’s low season here and the hotel is by no means full but we couldn’t check in at 2pm and we couldn’t stay longer in the room. Shame. Even though there was coffee and tea in the rooms, there was no ‘crema’ or milk. I asked for some and was directed to the restaurant where they wanted payment for a cup of milk. Shame. Couldn’t even sit in the restaurant and buy a drink when we left the room as we were told it was closed. Shame. We have been travelling around Chile during low season and all the other hotels have been lovely! Shame this hotel seems more like a low cost budget airline….Staff was friendly so think this stems from the management.

Incredibly good service but mediocre hardware

People are really nice. Staffs are extremely friendly. I did the laundry and it was properly, effectively and efficiently done. The software is excellent.
However the hardware needs some more maintenance. The room was a bit run down although it was very clean. As a four star hotel, I was expecting a more decent breakfast.
The overall experience was excellent but all thanks should be to the excellent staffs. The hotel itself, needs some work.

Ok place to stay in La Serena, not impressive.

My friend and I stayed one night at Hotel Club and we had high expectations because of the price we paid, but also because this is one of the mains Hotels in Avenida del Mar, the main road by the coast in La Serena. The pros are the location and installations within the Hotel as there's a swimming pool, restaurant and bar in the premises. The cons are the quality of the rooms with tired furniture, walls and noise coming from next room as there was a locked door that was facing the closet area and from where you could hear everything that was happening on the other side. Breakfast selection was good and check-in and out process went smooth. Not sure if we'd go back as there are probably better quality Hotels for the same or cheaper price.

The property doesn't reflect the offer amenities. The wifi is really weak in the room, making impossible to do remote work, for those are nomad worker. The room are really small and the bed are twin size. No AC in the room only heater. Staff try accomodate they were helpful.

The dinner was excellent and worth the money I paid for it, everything was extremely organised. I wish that the check-in was a little earlier and the check-out a little later, and that the internet was stronger in the hotel rooms (mine cut out quite a bit). But aside from that everything was great.

Nice and comfy hotel. Good rooms with enough space. Just need to have better access to rooms, because they’re not in the same building, so some walk is required and there’s a spot where only ladders are available, no lifts. So some work is required for your luggage. The building with rooms has lifts. Average breakfast and the restaurant is overpriced for the quality.

Just across the road from the beach. Easy to find and plenty of parking. Friendly helpful knowledgable staff who spoke English. Great breakfast especially the pancake machine. The swimming pool has different levels so you can walk in down a gentle slope or step in from the deep end. The rooms are in a separate building to reception and restaurant but there are lifts to all floors.

Large, clean room by the beach

We booked the premium room, which came with a patio and small living room. It was well worth it, as it was spacious with pleasant views, overlooking the pool and beach.

The restaurant was decent and there were a good amount of options at the breakfast buffet. Staff was nice and location was great. Very nice experience.

Great for a short beach break

The staff were extremely helpful as we speak very little Spanish. The hotel is great for the beach, especially if you like surfing as there is a surf and wetsuit hire place opposite. It's a long walk into town (30 mins) along quite busy roads and as we stayed out of season a lot of places had closed locally. The restaurant, Las Brisas is good and the portions are too big for us; we should have shared our burgers. the wine by the glass is a reasonable price and quality. The pool area with fountains and flowers is a lovely place to get some sunshine. It does need a bit of TLC and I'd recommend booking a room with a patio or balcony so you get a bit of outdoor space and fresh air. The breakfast had a wide variety of cheeses, cold meats, breads and fruit as well as plenty of scrambled eggs. It was great for a few days rest after a long tour.

Staff was extraordinarily accommodating. Pool area was very nice. Along a good stretch of beachfront. Unfortunately no air-conditioning (although it was not oppressive but it still would've been preferable) and the standard rooms are kind of small. Traffic makes it take longer to get to the center of town (which is good) than one would imagine.

The staff was very helpful, as there was some confusion with the booking. But it was straightened out and all was good. The breakfast was excellent. Lots of items to choose from.
Nice pool and grounds and located accross the street from the ocean.
Also close enough to be able to walk to downtown La Serena.
Lots of parking available at no charge.
Overall the experience was very good. But, don't got there expecting a 5 star hotel. It's a comfortable place with the basic necessities .

Club La Serena has all the best things that Chile had to offer:

The people were warm and friendly
The food was fresh and delicious
The room had an amazing view of the Pacific ocean and
every person that we dealt with at the hotel was eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible.

Even the construction in the parking lot and along one of the halls did not detract from our stay.

Nice Hotel by the Beach

After reading some reviews by others post, I was a bit hesitate to book but I was limited in choices.
Contrary to other people's experience at this hotel, My wife and I had a great time at this hotel.
The rooms are starting to show their \"wear & tear\" a bit but overall, I thought the rooms were large, clean and had a good view to the pool. In addition, being that close to the beach was great.
The restaurant connected to the hotel was fantastic as well. I don't like eating at the same place more than once but this place was the exception. Good food, good service.

Middle of the Road, Beach Hotel Complex.

This is a large property where each room has some version of a good view (beach or pool in the interior). The hotel rates are overpriced for what is actually received (amenities). The towels smelled ok but were dirty looking. They were actually dirty, black streaks on the towels-i have no idea why. The bathrooms smelled strange was felt humidThe hotel staff was very nice and booked excellent tours for us. The cafe area, didn't mention that they were charging us 10% tip on the bill and I left an extra tip. I would have left 20% anyway, but did not appreciate not being told that 10% was being added to my bill. On 2 occasions, i was told to order items from the cafe, in the restaurant because there wasn't a cashier available in the cafe, which I found frustrating and I'm sure was frustrating as an employee as well. One evening, we arrived late through the hotel doors to find that the front doors were locked with chains, all except for 1 door, which in the U.S., is a fire code hazard and violation because people could be seriously hurt if an emergency situation were to arise. Why not invest in regular locks for the main doors and use signs? Moreover, I was very thirsty from having walked so much that day and evening (tours) that I asked if I could buy water somewhere and was told I could not buy water anywhere in the hotel (and there are no stores nearby). Recommend water bottles be placed in each room, every day, for travelers who don't drink tap water. This is basic.

Great to be on the beach again after the Andes, ahh

After beinging the Andes in Peru & Bolivia for weeks it was finially great to be by the ocean. Hotel front staff were lovely and helped carry my bags to our room. The ocean view was great, the pool was refreshing and the hotel room service was all good. It was fantastic that the hotel had some free bikes to ride many kms down the beach. Even though it was xmas party time in the hotel, the sound didnt travel to our room, or maybe we were just exhuasted.
a bit of a taxi ride to the la Serrena city but that was all fine. I would definately recommend it to others. oh the breackfast was the best we had all through Sth America.

Great and very comfortable.

One of best experiences in Chile. Swimming pool is big and water is very clean. I think the person who manages it is very hard worker. Thank you very much. Breakfast was great with fresh fruit and bread. To beach, takes only 3 minutes by walk. Almost just besides to beach.

What a bit concerned is speed of wifi in room. Hope it can be faster. But I think not a big deal.

Todo bien en el hotel. Mejorar el entregar apoyo en llevar las maletas a la habitación sobre todo cuando una viaja sola con niños.
Las toallas cambiarlas cuando el pasajero lo indique y no todos los dias.

La atención de recepción fue muy buena, el desayuno estuvo agradable. Los malos detalles fueron sobre la limpieza, la sábana de la cama tenía una mancha y las toallas tenían manchas aún más significantes. Deberían de mejorar el aseo de la habitación, incluyendo el piso y renovar toallas.

La habitación es comoda. El buffet del desayuno es bueno, pero encontrar donde sentarse es una lucha, 20 mesas para todo el hotel y lo único que te dicen, \"afuera hay mesas\", pero es invierno, tuvimos que esperar mucho rato para que se desocupara una mesa.
el alojamiento del hotel esta separado de la recepción, por tanto, hay que atravesar la piscina y jardín para llegar a la habitación, que en invierno, es bastante incomodo. No volvería.

El hotel es precioso! Una excelente ubicación, su personal es super amable sobre todo los chicos encargado del desayuno ! El servicio de aseo tambien me gusto! Aunque preferiría sea un poquito mas profundo y no solo hacer la cama. Pero en general tienen un 10 para mi todo. También me gustaria que el desayuno tenga mayor variedad que no sea la misma variedad todos los días. Recomiendo 100% el hotel club la serena

El hotel tiene buena infraestructura y buena ubicación pero a las habitaciones les falta mantención: el colchón es antiguo y no muy cómodo (estaba hundido por el uso), le falta rigurosidad en la limpieza (polvo en los rincones y debajo de la cama) y el baño estaba con hongos en el cielo y en la cerámica de la ducha. El desayuno estuvo bien. Si necesitas trabajar el escritorio de la habitación es muy muy pequeño para poner el computador (es incómodo).
