We had a very bad snowstorm in western Washington last Friday. Our event in Shelton was cancelled due to the dangerous road conditions. Super 8 refused to give me a refund or apply my reservation to a future stay. $140 wasted. Very frustrating, I had NO CONTROL over the weather!

staff was good. the room had dried pasta noodles on the floor along with small pieces of tissue paper on the rug. I guess they forget to vacuum. breakfast was coffee, bananas, muffins, and packaged fruit, nut, grain, bars. not bad but not we expected

Somehow the wrong date was entered so when we drove 2 hours to get there they told me they charged me for the room already and we didn’t have a room. I realize it was my fault but he didn’t even say he was sorry. I thought he would st least offer us a room half price but no. He could care less. Not very good customer service.

The property is very dated with very old furniture.
That being said the bed was surprisingly comfortable although it was clearly showing its age.
The bedding itself is a very uncomfortable thin blanket and sheet that feels rough through the sheet. The sheets, blankets and furnishings need to be replaced. The sofa is so worn it has a sofa cover on it. The mattress in my room has a couple more years in it.
The tv and available channels were great.
The location is fantastic.
With a bit of upgrading in the room it can be great, especially the blankets, sheets and sofa.

The properties number one issue in my opinion is the front desk staff. Don’t get me wrong. The staff that checked me in and out were not rude in any way but there was absolutely zero attempt at hospitality or professionalism by either of them.
There was no attempt to say welcome to Super 8, how can I help you, how are you or anything even remotely close. It was checking in? and the room is just at the top of the stairs.
Because I initiated a brief conversation to lighten his disinterest (that’s the way it came across) in his job he relaxed a little bit.
The morning check out guy wasn’t interested in any hospitality or conversation.
His only words were “Checking out” and “Is everything out of the room?”
There was no interest in asking how my stay was or have a nice day just a complete lack of interest.
I stay in hotels 120-200 nights a year and I can’t remember ever seeing staff members that unwelcoming.

Facility needs a massive overhaul! Front desk staff always nice & cheerful! Really did enjoy talking with them! Excellent staff! Grounds of motel were plain, but green. Very close to shopping and restaurants. Walking distance!
Rooms were old looking. Dark & dingy. Walls probably could have used good scrubbing. House keeping should have done a lot more cleaning in the room. Behind chairs and along the walls was very filthy. Chairs & other furniture did not get moved to clean. Same with around the beds. Which the mattresses are sitting on plywood. The beds have plywood around them. The blankets smelled like urine (as we were leaving my son let me know. And yes it was very gross. He said he did not use the blanket at all while we there the three nights. He was using a blanket from home.) The sheets looked clean. But the blankets I didn't think to look at till then. They were not clean. Unsafe issue was that the cords behind the table in between the beds. They were spliced & put together with im assuming electrical tape. As in lamp cords & possibly extension cords. Not safe at all! Bathroom corners & along the walls could have had way more cleaning done to them as well. The shower wall was coming off showing the color of the fiberglass under the shower wall. Ceilings and walls were gross looking, discolored. Looked moldy possibly. Looked dirty looking. Sink was rough too. Gave us towels for 3. I booked 4. Shower head leaked and sprayed. Hot water and soaps in shower though.

Room we were assigned was never cleaned. Returned to the front desk and all they had left were pet friendly rooms which we took. So no surprise at the dog smell. But the beard hairs in the sink were what was the final straw in this low rating. The guy at the desk was kind though.

Everyone was very nice during my stay. It's in a very convenient location too. Everything was fine except for the bathroom. It didn't look like they cleaned the shower, because there was hair in the tub. There was hair all over the bathroom floor too. My hair was up, so I know it wasn't mine. Other than that, it seemed well kept. The TV is huge too! The little couch was nice as well.

For Shelton, the location was great. Right next to big shopping centers (Walmart, Fred Meyers, lots of eateries, Starbucks, etc), and right off Hwy 101. And downtown Shelton, is a short distance away. We noticed a strong cleaning smell, which can be bothersome. Likely, the carpeting probably needs some serious airing out.

We have minimal requirements for hotel stays as we are at a location to enjoy things away from the place we stay. So as long as the location is good, the room is decent, we're fine with it. And the price is OK for what it provides.

We have stayed at other Super 8's, and this one ranks on the lower end. However it met our needs, so no real complaints. And if we are around in Shelton again, we'll likely look to this location.

The front desk staff are very nice, and readily available 24 hours. There is an on site laundry for guests that stays open until 8pm. Food options are plentiful and within walking distance, as is a large Fred Meyer, Walmart, Starbucks, Happy Teriyaki, Wendy's, and Jack In The Box. Will happily stay here again.

If you read what they advertise, it sounds like a nice place but the reality is the rooms are dirty. Maintenance is not a top priority. The staff seem to be a little put off. They have to actually do their job and help a guest. They don’t have a breakfast unless you count capri sun and mini muffins.

Like another guy said it’s an older motel so it’s not perfect and a few eye sores, but good . The room was nice for what I needed and in a good location, with food and shops in walking distance. Also it’s right off hwy 101 so very easy to get going again . The only thing I really didn’t like was the bathroom for handicap people ….. a low sitting toilet and the bars weren’t in a good position making them unusable. But it’s nice if ya need to crash and recharge .

It wasn't a glamorous stay, but it met our needs.

Room was mostly clean and in working order. The hotel meet the expectations of a Super 8 for the most part. The parking lot could use some repair. It was next to a cannabis dispensary so there were signs everywhere about not smoking pot in the rooms. That said, our room smelled like pot when we checked in and had to be aired out.

Continental breakfast was only instant oatmeal packets and hot water.

The hotel location was pretty convenient. It was right off the highway, choose to a Walmart, grocery store, and a few fast food places. There was a good Mexican restaurant about 2 blocks away, and the eclectic Shang sports bar (nice staff, good food, \"interesting\" patrons), short drive to downtown Shelton.

Location is great. Room was ok, however several issues. There was uncleaned melted cheese in the microwave, spilled purple liquid in the fridge and hair in the bathtub. When I tried to use the hairdryer in the room the following morning, it kept shutting off so I left with wet hair as I hadn’t brought my own. Bedding and carpeting appeared clean

This motel is pretty run down. The floor boards on the second floor above me creaked all night long as people walked around. The bathrooms are in a sad state with the curtain rod almost falling off. I was genuinely concerned there might have been hidden cameras behind mirrors based off the state of the place. Something straight out of the movie saw.

2nd Worst Hotel I've Ever Stayed

I always look forward to leaving a good, positive review of my hotel stays... but can't do it this time. The front desk were friendly and helpful, the maid service was also good. But the rooms and maintenance are severely lacking. This place is in desperate need to work! I will not stay there again when I return to Shelton next year, I'd rather drive the 17 miles to Olympia or Lacey. They say a picture speaks a thousand words... so take a look at some of the worst maintenance I've ever seen at any hotel. For anyone who wants to risk staying here... WEAR SOCKS OR SHOES... DO NOT GO BAREFOOT. Also be aware of deception concerning their \"breakfast\". You'll see a photo of their breakfast bar... but they DO NOT serve breakfast... unless you call a small end table in the lobby with packets of oatmeal, a mini muffin (very old), juice box or a banana \"breakfast\". I don't, so each day I had to go out for a true breakfast not just a morning snack. DO NOT go there thinking you're going to get a breakfast like other hotels serve, you'll have to eat out as I did. I have a simple question for management/owner... why can't you do a simple carpet cleaning, even if it's just one room a day. Oh... and show your maintenance how to open a can of paint and use a brush. It can do wonders. After a 2 nt. stay, I returned home... sick. Can't say it was from my hotel room, but it wouldn't surprise me.
