Beautiful old hotel with gorgeous gardens, a nice pool, and a very chill vibe. Great place for low key R&R, in the heart of a wine region. Great base for touring wineries. Only 20 minutes to the heart of Verona and 30 minutes to Lake Garda. Staff were all, without exception, super friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious, with coffee/tea, eggs to order, cerals, juices, tarts, breads, fruit, excellent yoghurts, and much more. Very knowledgeable bar staff who really know their wines. We really enjoyed our stay here and will be back if ever in this area again.

The property is stunning and the rooms are very clean, spacious and beautiful. Like time stood still. But what made this hotel magical was the staff. David the manager is the funnest and most accommodating person and it reflects across the staff. They are all there to make sure that you not only enjoy your stay but that it is memorable. And you must do a wine tasting with them (I forgot the young guy’s name who does them) but he knows his stuff! Some of the best wine I’ve had, he got my palette instantly.

The grounds were beautiful. The pool view was breathtaking. It overlooked the villa and vineyards. The staff were the best and it was easy to see they loved what they did. Lovely property and staff who treat you like family - on the day we left, staff member set an alarm for himself to wake up early, call us a cab, make me a coffee, and grab us a small breakfast from the kitchen since we needed to leave so early (breakfast was at 8:30). We only stayed 2 nights and if longer I think we would have wanted access to a car. The restaurant on-site was excellent quality for dinner but on the pricier side. We ate there twice rather than paying for a cab to go elsewhere and it was absolutely delicious.

Initial impression when we arrived was wow.......beautiful setting with immaculate gardens but unfortunately we became very disappointed.
We paid extra for a suite and the room was lovely but a bit rustic with too many cobwebs & dead insects and sockets that didn’t work. The beds were very uncomfortable........my daughter as the third adult was given a broken camp-bed which was atrocious. No free Wi-Fi in the room as advertised but you got a little over at reception if you were lucky.
Breakfast on a plus was nice and in the evening they have a wine bar with excellent staff.
Am disappointed not to have left a better review but for the money we paid it didn’t really match 4* which you would expect from such a beautiful hotel.

Terrible service. The room was on the 4th floor and there was No elevator. Had to carry our own suitcases without assistance. WIFI only worked in the lobby and didn’t reach anywhere else. AC stopped working about an hour after check-in and it was 98 degrees outside. When we asked the front desk for it to either be fixed or to be transferred to another room we were told that no rooms are available and they tried to fix the AC but couldn’t, and we really shouldn’t complain because they tried... (as if it helped the situation).

Stunning location! It is very quiet. The wine shop wasn’t open- which we went there for, however the wine selection and service at the bar was very good. The bar closes at 10pm. There are things that could be improved, like for example, not charging to hire pool towels and being able to get a drink a lot closer to the pool, as the bar is far away. There also should be toilets closer to the pool. Also signs to make it clearer where to park and where not to drive, as it is confusing. It also says that breakfast is included and cooked to order, however you have to pay extra to have the cooked option. The area is lovely, stunning setting and very friendly bar service and the welcome drink is a nice touch soon. I would stay again. Perfect for a very chilled stay, with a picturesque setting, if you want an early night.

Remote (Even for My GPS) But Worth the Stay
The buildings and common rooms within are stunning, equally matched by the palatial and well manicured grounds. The property has expansive vineyards attached that create a calming effect on its guests. The dining options on the property are limited but the wine selections are very good. We were in a side building and the upstairs and downstairs suite was a little awkward. Talked to the management about their \"thin\" pillows and the overly warm room. The staff was friendly, responsive and very professional.

My partner and I just returned from a 5 night stay at this charming villa. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff and a good variety at breakfast. It exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return. The pool was great for cooling down after a days sight seeing in Verona. Lovely and relaxing!

Villa Giona is a beautiful estate. The reception, breakfast area and the room and the grounds, along with the fountains and sculptures.
I understand this was the second season of operation, so I assume some things will get better. While we the service was overall excellent, notably David at the bar and a lady at breakfast, and while the room was spacious, a few things were below par.
We ordered the suite, and paid handsomely. The suite, room 18, is a two floor apartment whereby there is a kitchenette at the bottom floor. Upon arrival we noticed there was a top of stove, no kettle and no pots or utensils. Traveling with a young baby, a kettle or pot to boil water and sanitize bottles is essential for us, and quite frankly you find one of the two anywhere you stay. It was not easy to receive the pot, it was taken away and overall loss of hassle where the room should have been properly equipped.
Once the place is in running mode, I'm sure it will be great.

The site is wonderfull. I wish there were more amenities like a dinner service. We will come back for sure to explore more the Valpollicella valley. Room was renovated with a high taste level, very comfortable and very clean.

Amazing wonderful relaxing stay. Didn't want to leave. The staff very welcoming .. the Villa is set in the most beautiful place surrounded by English gardens. Highly recommended

Beautiful place, accommodation disappointing
The setting and public areas were lovely, we had accommodation that included a kitchen, however there weren't any utensils or even glasses to use. Pool was up a steep climb. No restaurant on site, but nice place up the hill, descent back down was tricky in the dark and after a few drinks. Breakfast was good.

Hotel Villa Gionna is remotely located and would be hard to reach without a car. This being said the staff were friendly and helpful, the grounds were immaculately kept. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Unfortunately the vineyard next door was closed for the August Holiday as we had hoped to visit.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful villa that has been thoughtfully restored and updated. The gardens are well-kept and the pool area overlooking olive groves is spectacular. The breakfast is also wonderful. We loved our stay here and we can't recommend it enough.

Gorgeous hotel in the wine country
The grounds were stunning. The most beautiful place we have ever stayed. Gorgeous pool, great rooms, excellent staff! The only reason this didn't get 5 stars all the way was that the AC in our room was broken and they could not move us rooms. But the staff was so apologetic and did their best to make us as comfortable as possible.

THIS HOTEL IS A DISASTER. IT SEEMS A CASTLE, BUT COMPLETELY ABANDONNED. THE SMELL OF WINE IS EVERYWHERE AND THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF HOTEL. IT SEEMS THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO RENOVATE OR THEY ARE NOT RECEIVING GUESTS YET. WE COULD NOT FIND THE RECEPTION AND THERE WAS NOBODY IN THE AREA. AT LAST WE FOUND SOMEONE THAT SAID THAT THEY WERE HAVING SOME PROBLEMS THERE AND ACCEPTED OUR CANCELLATION WITHOUT CHARGES. NOW I FOUND THAT THEY HAVE CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD.
