All of the entry doors were broken. There were holes in the bathroom doors, the popcorn ceiling were peeling off over the tub, the faucet was broken in one room not allowing any showers to be taken in that room. Staff were not always at the desk, you had to call a phone number to get someone to the desk.

The room is advertised as having continental breakfast included. When we checked in, the lobby was closed and we had to check in through almost a teller window. At this time, we were informed they no longer did breakfast and it was suppose to be removed from their listings (pictures still showed breakfast too). When we checked in, the towels were still being washed; however we were brought warm towels as soon as they were done.

Our kids feet turned black/gray from running around the room barefoot within an hour. There was a spot between the bed and nightstand that looked like something was spilled and not mopped. The beds were clean and made. There was a spot on the ceiling in the bathroom where the paint was peeling up. Although the room was remodeled, I feel like it was almost like putting make up on a pig.

The room was quiet and the guests appeared spaced out to not bother eachother.

The overall price wasn’t bad since we used points; however, I probably won’t be returning next time.

So I booked on a last minute spite. I was booked at another hotel room 20minutes away. I arrived there and the worker at this other hotel in defuniak tells me “my manager cancelled ur reservation bc of how cheap I got the room”. Definitely was a first for that. Well I jumped back on hotels.com and landed this hotel which was actually 1.5 miles away from the lake fest I was working at. Overall turned out great and the gal that checked me in Friday night was fantastic. As far as the other hotel that cancelled me with no call no email I’ll be reaching out to corporate for product discrimination. Especially since my room was booked and paid for 6 weeks in advance.

We probably won't be back. You could see sunlight coming in around the motel door.
Had requested 2 Queen beds. The beds are just doubles.
But they were clean.
No Continental breakfast. No coffeemaker. Had to request a microwave, and a remote for the T.V. The owner did supply those items, once asked.
They're \"Pet Friendly\", but they do charge a fee.

This was a very late night booking and not worth the money we spent. My husband and I stopped here after driving for many hours and this was probably one of the grossest rooms we've ever stayed in. It was close to midnight and, granted we weren't looking to spend a ton on a place to sleep for a few hours, but next time we will absolutely spend more to sleep in a clean, safe feeling space. We booked a last minute stay through Expedia and somehow I chose a \"smoking\" room, which I did not see on the listing until we pulled up, so my husband notified the man of my error, behind the small window he had to talk through (the lobby seems to remained locked, even in the daytime hours, and you eventually speak to a person through a small plexiglass window on the side of the building.. honestly, should've been my first clue.) He said that he could accommodate us in a \"non smoking room but it would be more\", but after noticing the look on my tired husband's face, followed it up with \"but I can price match it for you, no problem..\" This room was musty feeling and smelled like straight urine, the tub faucet leaked ALL NIGHT, there was a hole in the bathroom door, someone's hair tie left on the floor behind the door.. needless to say I did not sleep, but my husband needed the rest, so my noisy neighbors and boundless anxiety stuck around while he got a few hours of sleep. Checking out took way too long too, but thank God this will now be a distant memory.. Choose a different exit to stop!

Arrived at check-in time. Doors were locked, lights were off. A note pasted to the window had a tel. Number to call: it went to an unidentified voice mail. Left message, call was not returned. Drove around property… there were three vehicles and two unsavory characters sitting on hotel furniture that had been pulled outside (totally obscured back corner of the property). It was scary, freaky and we bailed. No refund either!! Will strongly reconsider using Expedia in the future.

First thing i noticed is the lobby was locked to guests at 4:30 pm. Had to ring a bell for service. Person at window was pleasant. No name tag so i could not give her kudos. On departure only was still locked at 8:30 am. New person at window. I asked if the lobby was ever unlocked. He said no.

Reservation was for a standard King non smoking room. At initial entrance of room it was neat, one sitting chair beside the bed. Desk with no drawers across from bed as well as a dresser/tv stand. Decent Smart TV but no directions in the room as how to operate it.

sink/mirror setup. tooth paste or some type of blue goo in front of the sink. There were clean towels and wash cloths in the bathroom. Toilet looked decent. Bathtub was dirty. The bottom of tub is textured and dirt was settled into it. Needed a good brush scrubbing before use. No telephones in rooms to contact front desk. i scrubbed the tub myself before entering it for my shower.

Photos of property showed restaurant/dining area but was unable to access it door to locked doors. There was a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave in the room. Microwave worked fine and was clean. Fridge was on but not cooling. There was a coffee maker but no coffee in the room.

Closer look at coffee maker. It was dirty and missing basket.

Room was not worth the $10 difference in price of a much better hotel. Don’t waste your money.

Well there were a lot of issues with this place. First of all, we got a dirty room...literally fake eyelashes on the dirty sink that wouldn't drain. We stayed here over a year ago and it was not like this. The tub is cracked and leaking, both doors (front and bathroom) need to be replaced, and there were roaches. I could literally see sunlight through the bottom of the front door. The back of the bathroom door had been chewed up, literally. Room 136 was just bad...and to make it worse the guy supposedly checked it to make sure it was ready before he assigned me the room. Oh and for fun, no TP and what seemed to be dirty towels. Thank God I brought a roll from home.

This place was nothing like pictured! Was never able to enter lobby so service was at a window. Checked in that Sunday 17th room 141 was absolutely terrible!! Smelled horrible! I did a little cleaning to let it air out. I left and came back that night around 9 smell wasn’t so strong, open refrigerator dead roach, open microwave rusted with dead roach, roach on the wall. Monday 18th woke up with headache and coughing went to shower and I noticed the bathroom ceiling had mold! I request a different room that even after work and was asked to come back that night at 11. I wasn’t hanging out too that time which left me paying for another room!! Tuesday evening 8/19 they gave me another room so I went to get my things from 141 and roaches were in the sink. The other room 104 smelled alil better but I still had a dry cough from the first room and was hesitant about staying and it getting worse. I paid for Sunday through Saturday checkout and only stayed Sunday night! It wasn’t worth my life! I chose the place for sentimental reasons of 2021, but never again! The hotel has some major health violations among others! I won’t recommend to anyone even if you don’t care about the condition at this hotel.

Wow - where to start?!!! We arrived at 9:00p.m. The motel lobby was locked. They checked us in through a hole in one of the lobby door!! The chain lock on our room door was busted off (as well as half of the door trim) We found hairs on the pillows and bed sheets! Wet liquid on the nightstand and lots of food crumbs on the floor. Not even a bar of hand soap in the bathroom. When we checked out, in the morning we were not allowed into the building. No one told us how to check out so we deposited our room key, through the hole in the door. There was not even a cup of coffee available - not even in our room and no breakfast!!!!! We just needed a bed for a few hours of sleep as we traveled and we are pretty easy going, but this place was a shock!! Their write up on their website is mostly NOT TRUE.

After checking in, was sent to a room with the door ajar. After peeking in, was obvious that I had been sent to a room not yet cleaned. I notified the clerk and he reassigned me to another room with no problem; however, the new room had no towels at all, no remote for the television, and hardly any toilet paper. I would say this is the standard “get what you pay for” situation when it comes to hotels, but since this was Memorial Day Weekend, I got charged basically double rate for this substandard stay.

This place was awful! Do not stay here! Old and outdated, dirty, and a very uncomfortable bed with crappy pillows. We striped the bed, used our travel sheets, blankets, and pillows since we knew ours was clean! Thank goodness we always bring our own, we just didnt trust this place! We definitely would have left but had an extremely long drive prior to arrival so we needed to somewhat rest. We should have slept in our vehicle, which we would have probably been more comfortable in! When morning came, I used the toilet which ended up backing up just by flushing, #1 not #2! Not maintaining issues cause backups! We started getting ready for our day, showered which tub doesnt drain (yuck) and then we hear knocking at the door shortly after 7am from the housekeeping! Check out is not until 11am so no need to bother guests until you know they are gone or after the allotted check out time! So very rude of them! Dont stay here period! This place needs to be knocked down and rebuilt or completely gutted and start fresh. Just horrible! And don't bring kids here! Dirty needles in the parking lot and nasty condom was near the grass that was separating the street to room. I would never again stay here for any reason!

From checkin in to our stay it was all horrible. The checkin process makes you feel like the area is unsafe and completed behind a glass door. The place is not well kept, our room was dirty, the tv rarely worked, the bathroom fan was filthy, rust everywhere in the bathroom, holes in the bathroom door and the door knob was falling off bathroom door. The beds and pillows are old and uncomfortable. Will not be staying here ever again.

I was disappointed from the begging. The host told me to stand at the window instead of inviting me into the lobby. Next, the door handle was broken and that was a delay to get someone to teach me to open the broken door. Btw, if the handle broken then who would feel safe.
Inside the room is in need of several repairs. The ceiling is peeling and falling, the tile is broken and missing pieces. The switch to the bathroom light and fan is broken and won't turn off so it ran constantly. Very noisy even with the door closed.
I rarely leave poor reviews but the broken door handle and broken light switch are both safety issues.

Not the best but Melinda made it worth the stay

Roaches in my room which smelled of weed so strongly that I had to leave the door open, the AC unit on high and the bathroom ventilation on for hours. Melinda was excellent as she provided a cleaning product that cleared the weed smell after being applied. A can of disinfectant helped as well. Melinda was always making sure to check if anything was needed during my stay. She also helped with getting my brother's room ready as it hadn't been completed when expected at 2:30.

This place must be shutting down because the owners have definitely given-up on the upkeep. I should have known when I checked in during the daytime and the lobby was not open. I had to check in at a window. The lobby was never open. This is a one-night stay and I almost left that same night. It was horrible!
Here is the bullet list of reasons:
> Weird smells. I brought in a scented candle to burn.
> No working heat and temps in low 40's that night (owner brought in a portable heater that night that did the job)
> Stained pillows & bed linens - you don't want details, trust me!
> Only 1 cheap flat standard pillow per Queen bed
> No extra blankets plus I really didn't want to use stained blanket on bed so I had to use a small fleece throw blanket i brought for a Christmas present.
> Two cheap thin towels and no hand towels at all.
> The only sink was clogged terribly with hair!

The only good thing was there was hot water when I took a shower and that was a welcomed blessing.
If I have to be in that area again, I'm not staying here or at any other hotel in the area.

Terrible Management - Cancelled During Hurricane

I booked to escape Hurricane Milton. I couldn't make it there the first night of my stay, they called me, and I could not promise I would be there that night, as I was helping other people. They then cancelled the rest of my booking, without telling me. Then I was left to fend for myself, during a hurricane. In talking to management, it was obvious, there was a language and cultural barrier, but I did not expect there to be a humanitarian barrier.

The location is very humid. The room needed extra cleaning, tv not working, room smelled. Brought my own disinfectant. Cleaned all surfaces and handles. Cynthia, the temporary maid cleaned the floor at my request. TV was swapped out for one that worked. Took about an hour after getting in the room to be comfortable enough to unload and get settled in. One in, things were ok.

For the price and convenience, it was good. My only complaint would be the mattress was not the best, and the chair (not computer chair) was not as comfortable as it could have been. I would suggest a recliner, as there was plenty of room for one. Our maid was awesome and took care of our needs, she was easy to work with and did a great job!

The staff was friendly but the room was not properly cleaned. Linens and towels appeared clean but the mirror had spit marks on it from previous guests, there was a squished and dried bug on the floor, and visible dirt in the corners. The HVAC smelled like mildew when we turned it on. And they DO NOT SERVE BREAKFAST. If you were thinking of staying here and paying the higher price because of breakfast, their listing is not accurate and should be changed.

The cleanliness of the room, check-in was very easy, and the person was very nice to me. The rates are reasonable non-smoking room is a plus the only thing that I can say the ice machine wasn’t working but overall it is great here.

This lodge was advertised as having a breakfast and even posted a picture of the breakfast bar in the hotel on the website. But there is none. Many of us travelers select a place to stay on whether or not a breakfast is available.
The owners say they told Expedia that they no longer serve breakfast.Who is telling the truth???
This is false advertising on part of Expedia.com. Shame on you!

Wouldn't stay here again

Kept awake all night by the couple screaming and throwing things, slamming the walls and the doors, right next to us. Also, there was no breakfast as advertised... couldn't even get into the lobby as it was all locked.

Nasty, dirty, unrepaired, unfriendly hotel

Despite checking in before 6pm, lobby doors were locked. Had to use after hours window. King room non-smoking smelled like cigarettes, large foot size hole in the sheetrock next to the bed. Tv with no remote and side buttons wouldn't change channels. Continental breakfast was not available (lobby doors remained locked) again had to go to small after hours window. When i reported issues with room the person who checked me appeared to not understand me and just gave me a blank look. Another guy over heard me and asked what room i was in. Took my key card and turned back to his computer without any other comments. I normally do not write reviews on hotels i stay in however if you come across this hotel just skip right over and look at another.This hotel rating through hotels.com as 7.2 when it should have been 2.7
