Lovely get away

We took a spontaneous trip to Malham Cove for a night away.
This lovely hotel is down a quiet country road 1/2 a mile from the cove and near to several other pubs and cafes.
The building is very old and reached over an old stone bridge or the beck (stream)
Parking is available and the room was nicely furnished with views of the water and a very comfy bed.
The hotel and attached restaurant is completely plant based. I somehow missed this fact when booking but I needn’t have worried.
The dinner was excellent and the breakfast even better. The staff were friendly and would consider again for a get away to see the stunning local scenery

Brilliant beck hall

We love it here. Gutted there were no booja booja chocolates like on our last visit.
Food is amazing.
Service somewhat slower than last visit.
Staff are just the loveliest you'll find anywhere.

Visited as a surprise trip for my boyfriend’s birthday who is vegan. The location and grounds are exceptional, dog friendly and very tranquil which is what we wanted. Staff and food was also exceptional! Flies in the room but to be expected due to the flowing river on site. Perhaps some natural repellant incorporated into the lovely small details would be good e.g. hand wash, diffuser etc. Also can hear footsteps of those staying in the room above, likely due to the age of the building. Despite this we would definitely come back!

Staff were super friendly and accommodating and very dog oriented. The room was warm and interesting and the guest lounge was full of character.
The evening meal was excellent a real advertisement for plant based eating. The breakfast was slightly disappointing - perhaps a more traditional option would be good here? All in all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The staff were very helpful and were very caring toward our pup. Treats, beds and water was on hand for the dog as well as lots of pats which he was happy about. The breakfast was really tasty and lots to choose from including porridge, fruit, pastries, cereal, yogurt and of course there were lots to choose from on the breakfast menu. The hotel has some lovely original features e.g. the log fire room and is very modern too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Malham walk

The short break with my husband was to walk to Malham Cove which our son had done man times. The hotel was really Mynice & just what we wanted, cleanliness, food & service. Although the room was very small, it had everything we needed except perhaps a small chair which would fit in the corner. My one small criticism would be the trailing wires from lamps & sockets. As there were numerous dogs on site they may have been pulled by accident.

Lovely & super dog friendly

The nicest dog friendly place we’ve ever stayed.
As a couple of vegans with 2 dogs, we’re quite tricky to cater for, actually a royal PITA.
If you have a dog, or two you must come stay here. You can take your friends everywhere with you. For dinner and breakfast.
The room was lovely, small but had a 4 poster bed.
The food was amazing, the banana blossom and chips was the best I’ve ever had. The young guy behind the bar made lovely espresso martinis. Super friendly staff.
We loved everything about it. The area is stunning: Will def be back

A Perfect Hideaway Break ✨

They never fail to make our trip special.... It's consistent... I have had lovely superior rooms and I love the classic too... Small and cozy but really nice and the sound of the stream makes it more of a relaxing experience. This is my favourite escape for a night or two with my little well behaved dog.

Stunning Location but let down by the room

Check in & out was very efficient.
Staff are Super Friendly.
Absolutely stunning location, could not fault.
We stayed in a Superior Room No: 15 which was on the Ground floor it had a great view of the water.
The only negative points are the TV didn't work even though the lovely Linda (I think) tried to get it going.
The room was very cold which when questioned we realised the heating system is controlled by the staff from a laptop.
The bathroom was exceptionally cold with the heating turned off all night throughout the bedroom & bathroom, you wouldn't expect this in January.

The curtain rail for the net curtain was split & wouldn't close easily.

I would never book a Ground Floor room due to the thinness of the wooden floors, our neighbours above us seemed to walk across them all night + you could hear every word of their conversation (I realise this is not the hotels fault).

I'm not sure if we would stay here again due to the thin walls & floor even though the location is outstanding.

If I'm honest we felt a little let down bearing in mind we'd booked a Superior room.

Beautiful quaint hotel, quietly tucked away next to the picturesque babbling brook - a quite magical place to stay!
-Staff very friendly and efficient - a small hard working team - thank you .
- dinner at hotel was interesting menu and excellent food very well presented.
- our room was on the small side (booked late and was last room) but very clean, cosy, had all amenities - a great comfy bed - much needed after long day walking !!
Unfortunately hotel had a power cut so no electric and no water in the morning!!!! The staff rallied and a good continental breakfast was put out, the owner arrived with camping stoves for bacon butties - but we had already finished. Missed our cooked breakfast but not the hotels fault. Strangely - it didnt spoil our stay - and we would definately recommend this hotel and will be returning

Lovely friendly staff. Good breakfast and dinner! Nice room with big en-suite! Brilliant location for visiting Malham Cove. The garden looked lovely with the beck running by it! Although we aren’t dog owners the presence of dogs wasn’t a problem! We will be back!

Perfect wholesome stay

We had a fantastic stay at Beck Hall, the staff are so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too difficult for them. We stayed with our labrador puppy and everything was perfect and suited us all so well. It rained the whole time for our stay and the rooms were so clean and had bright white sheets and being with a young puppy it really worried us but the staff were so reassuring and made us feel so at ease which added to our wholesome trip. All in all, loved by us all ☺️

Absolutely fantastic, location is perfect, and had everything we needed. Room was clean, breakfast was delicious and staff where fabulous.
Didn’t eat at night in the hotel however had a drink outside and blankets where provided as well as heaters on the wall. Moved into the snug when the heavens opened suddenly and sat by the fire.
Will certainly be returning!

Fire exit by our room (14) left open possible security issues during the night.
Breakfast very disappointing tinned mushrooms!! Cold beans. Poor coffee
Considering the room rate was £140 per night this stay was well below the standard I would expect.
Location great overbearing staff guests using the fire exit at 6am to empty the barking dog in the morning extremely disappointing. Please use the main hotel entrance

We had a brilliant stay and the staff were amazing, it was our wedding anniversary and they really made it special. The room was lovely and clean and beautifully decorated. Dinner was superb, the food cooked exceptionally well and good sized portions, as was the breakfast. We did feed a little out of place as we seemed to be the only guests without a pup, this place is really dog friendly but we love dogs. One of the friendliest places we have stayed, simply excellent

Snowy couples visit (no dog)

Having read previous reviews I was aware that this was a dog friendly hotel which was fine as we were both previous dog owners. What I didn't expect was for dogs to be sat on their owner's knees and on the chairs in the dining room while food was being served.
It did feel like we were in some sort of parallel universe at times and owners of the dogs made slightly negative comments about us not having a dog, which did make us feel a bit unwelcome. The corridor outside our room smelt of dog but the room itself didn't. Our room, which was in the annexe, was cold when we first got there and the heating system installed wasn't a normal heating system. However, after reading instructions in the information book, we managed to get the heating on.
We enjoyed the evening meal and breakfast and also the walks available on the doorstep. We did the Janets Foss/Malham Cove walk. The staff were very welcoming. On check out there was a delay as the system showed that we hadn't paid, when we had. This was resolved when the young lad went and got someone else who knew the system better.
I had previously stayed in the Buck Inn and I think I would return there, rather than to this hotel, in the future.

A Gem In The Yorkshire Dales.

Exceptional stay, hotel was lovely for a birthday treat. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The standard room was just what we required. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was exceptional. Breakfast was tasty and well presented in the dining room. Riverside location is fantastic.
Christmas decoration were up and the festive spirit was there.
Would we stay here again - YES WE WOULD.

Its mega dog friendly which is wonderful if you have a dog (or two) but not the place for you if a doggy presence in every part of the hotel is problematic for you. Dogs ere literalky everywhere. All were well behaved and not a problem for us and we very much enjoyed our stay

Motorbike trip to Yorkshire Dales

The location of Beck Hall is ideal to explore the local area. The staff we so helpful and friendly and the room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The food served in the restaurant was wonderful and the choice of breakfast set you up for the day. The open fires were very welcome after arriving after a very wet day's riding. My only criticism is during our first night eating in the restaurant one particular pair of completely irresponsible dog owners turned the restaurant into what sounded like a noisy kennel. This is no criticism of the staff but it did spoil what would have otherwise been a very enjoyable meal. They were not there the following evening and it was a very pleasant experience - all other dogs in the restaurant were very well behaved and did not detract from the experience (an I am not a dog person). Overall this was a lovely stay and when my motorcycle broke down and had to be relayed home the staff were very helpful. It was just a shame that some idiots spoil it for others - but that was no fault of the hotel or it's staff. Apart from that one incident I could not fault the stay.

Wonderful place in a perfect location.

We had a two night stay at Beck Hall and it was fabulous. Beautiful place in a fantastic location. The restaurant and bar opened up and flowed into an outside seating area located by the side of a small stream, a perfect setting for eating and drinking. The food was very good with an excellent choice at breakfast and great tapas served at lunch. The staff also were excellent, friendly and accommodating and helped make our stay a memorable one. The rooms were very clean and tidy, lovely bathroom, and we slept really well in comfortable beds. Car park was about 200 yards from the hotel but having somewhere to park in the center of Malham is a bonus. Overall we had a brilliant stay and will be looking to return some time.

Lovely stay at Beck Hall

This hotel is very dog friendly and dogs are allowed everywhere which was great for us holidaying with ours! The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, food and service great and the decor of the hotel is quirky and interesting.
We stayed in the green room which was lovely, my only issue was with the four poster bed which seems a shame to mention, but it did cause me a sleepless night. It creaks....a lot! And was not quite long enough for me to stretch out in.
All in all we had a fab night away and will definitely return.
