The hotel is conveniently located in the CBD with easy access to trams, trains, and by foot to a lot of locations. Our room was in the eastern part of the hotel with two lifts required to reach the upper floor with a bit of a walk required to reach the second lift.
Outside noise from groups of people on the street, and trucks emptying skip bins severely affected our sleep for most of the night for all three nights that we stayed. Double glazing would probably help. We would consider staying again, but only if we could request a room in a part of the hotel that was quieter.

Overall a really great place to stay for the convenience of walking anywhere in the CBD. The hotel is clean and well presented. Only downside was our room wasn’t cleaned properly each day, lack of vacuuming or cleaning the bathroom - only towels were changed, bed was made and bins emptied.

Room, staff and amenities were great. Breakfast buffet should be reviewed for some improvement opportunities. Bedding and family room layout was very comfortable. Great hair dryer and complimentary body, shampoo and conditioner too!

Boys loved the pool and I enjoyed the small gym.

If I could do it again, I would have made a plan for transport from the Central station (after Skybus drop-off) with our luggage (travelled with 2 kids) to the hotel when we arrived. It's not a long walk from the but it was after I became lost and flustered in a big city with 2 kids that were running out of steam haha.

I don’t recommend this hotel . First when we came staff at reception area are not helpful and like they are not happy to serve any guest. No one even welcome you.staff are rude even managers except of 2 employees try to help us.

We request for make up room and on the 2nd day we even left at 7am and no one clean the room, rubbish bins not emptied and toilet paper no refill.We stay there for 5 nights and only the last day they did vacuum as I went back again to reception and ask to vacuum the floors.

No towels at pool area, we have to go down to reception again to ask for towels.
I would say it was really terrible experience.
We stayed last year at Pullman/Mercure but I would say staying there is far better. With the price is the same from the time I book. I just want to try new hotel.

Staff were friendly. Maintenance on rooms and overall cleanliness was pretty mid. There were white stains on the side of the bed, that I really didn't want to think too much about. It was quite a warm weekend I was staying and the cooling was pretty average. Couldn't open the window because you know city pigeons and street noise. Location is pretty spot on for being in the CBD. This is a great hotel, located in one of the most vibrant areas of Melbourne. Tons of cafes, restaurants, shops, things to do within easy walking distance. Staff is efficient and friendly. My only issue was the so-called \"pool\": it's more like a large bathtub. If 4 people are in it, it's way too crowded.

Price was excellent but room servicing left a lot to be desired. First two days out of six a pass but forget the rest of the days, we had to ask for things like towels etc…even toilet paper. It was in the middle of everything! So it’s easy to go anywhere, every time we walked somewhere, it will always come back to the hotel because how close it is to everything! When you book a tour, they know exactly where this hotel is at so you don’t have to be worry! Overall, it’s good for the price, you can’t really complain much since it’s reasonable for what your paying for!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Victoria Hotel - the first 2 times were good but this time was awful. The breakfast was horrible, the room smelt, and the staff didn’t even bother to make up our room on one of the mornings. Won’t be back unfortunately, which is a shame.

Shower was almost unusable, literally trickling/dribbling out with no pressure even when the basin had good pressure and we spent ages adjusting it because it constantly changed temperature. On the last days we had to only use the hot tap and that was just warm. I did complain about that and the fact that we weren't getting replacement toilet rolls so we were down to just the one on the reel that we were worried would run out. I think our bed was made but the sheet wasn't replaced because there was a little blood mark on the sheet where she had a scratch on her leg the next day. I still had some stubble in the basin the next day. Used teacups were not replaced and there were no dish cleaning facilities for us to us. Curtain had no stop on it so came right off when pulled over. I am not a snob about these things, but all these things added up to make it feel ick. Skirting boards were really dusty (this would not have passed my rental inspection that lists this as an item) and there was crap on the shower grout, table bedside had stain on it

The room was on the small side but great for one person. Loved the location and easy access to trams and the CBD, short walk to Chinatown, shops, lots of food choices. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is a pool but it’s small and a sauna on site. I would not hesitate to stay there again if in the area.

Good value hotel. Centrally located with easy access to tram, cafe, restaurant and attraction. Stayed here a couple of times before. Unfortunately this time our room wasn't clean and missing additional security lock. We asked for the room to be cleannes properly the next day but it wasn't done. Management eventually gave us a different room which was clean. Despite the issue, we would return and recommend as all our previous stays were good.
