The staff @ the front desk were kind.

This is close to Mesa Verde but it was DIRTY! Our pillow cases hadn't been cleaned & didn't have clean ones, the floors & towels were dirty. I asked the first night for them to clean but there was no staff who could. The next morning at 8am I asked and they wouldn't clean the rooms til later in the day. Found a larva by my Grandson's head & insisted they clean the rooms & they said not til hours later.

Left after 1 night & they gave me a refund.

There is a workout area & room with a pool table & games.

In the future, I will stay in Cortez & drive the extra 50min to Mesa Verde.

Stay in the park. Definitely choose a view room. The balcony is a fantastic place to relax at the end of the day or start the day enjoying the view.
The breakfast options at the cafeteria are just the hotel breakfast you get at most places with an omelet bar. The Metate restaurant is a better choice for other meals.

The hotel and staff were very nice. Wonderful views from our balconies. Unfortunately, most of Mesa Verde park was closed due to the government shutdown.we had stayed at the Grand Canyon a few days earlier and everything was business as usual. I even got an email from the Grand Canyon before our arrival saying they were open, but some services might not be available due to the shutdown - we didn’t notice anything not available. It would’ve been nice if we had been notified of the closures at Mesa Verde in advance. We were able to drive to one area and see on of the Spruce Tree cliff dwelling in the near distance. But all the roads and trails were closed to everything else, including the museum and visitor center. The hotel and restaurants are run by private companies and were open and very nice!

Hard to say. The administration forced parks to stay open in the shutdown without requiring access to attractions. So the Far View Lodge stayed open, but the Park did not give access to the ruins. Why drive for hours only to stay at the Hotel without being able to see Cliff Palace and Balcony House.

We stayed at Far View Lodge 3 days into the government shutdown. The park was 90% closed, so the great location in the park wasn't really an advantage. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant (thank you to Laramie & Julian), but the breakfast buffet was ordinary and overpriced (and a quarter mile from the lodge) and the other employees seemed disinterested in being there, and were neither friendly nor very helpful. DONT believe their \"full services available\" claim. The lounge was closed, the main dining served only dinner, and we got zero housekeeping during our stay. All in all, a disappointment, and certainly so at the price. Maybe they'd be better under normal circumstances, but... I just don't have much confidence .

We arrived during the government shutdown and were told that we would have full service. The lounge was closed. The on-site restaurant served dinner only (driving 1/4 mile for breakfast or lunch). Rooms were not serviced. No coffee available in the mornings.
The staff at dinner on the evening of our arrival were very attentive , and the meal was excellent.
Overall, we were very disappointed. The view was the best part of Far View.

So excited to snag a room at this lodge inside the Mess Verde National Park. The views are amazing. Nice, basic accommodations. The lounge has an outside seating area perfect for enjoying drinks and the views. The restaurant also has great views to go with delicious meals. The trout was amazing. Our server,Brian, did an exceptional job because they were short staffed. This was Oct 2 and the govt shut down had closed the park. We were still able to drive the park and take in the views. Being able to stay there helped soften the blow of not being able to do the Cliff Dwelling tour.

It was nice to be right in Mesa Verde. The room had spider webs and spiders that we killed. The bathroom had an odor that was disappointing. The deck out the back was nice for night sky viewing. I would suggest to stay on the top floor to avoid noise overhead.

The Far View Lodge is the only hotel within the national park. The rooms are simple but clean with a picture window and small balcony looking out over the expanse of the high Mesa. The rooms are in five or six separate buildings and you can park right in front of your door. The lodge has a very nice restaurant and bar with spectacular sunset views. It is also 14 miles inside the park so very convenient for an early start for excursions.

This was not a good experience. Upon checking in we were told that we hadn't paid when we had so I had to dig up the receipt. When I went to my room for the first time the key didn't work and its a good thing - someone else was in the room. I didn't get seated for my dinner reservation until 30 minutes after the reserved time. The ice machines didn't work so I had to take my ice bucket to the restaurant.

Aweful way to treat customers

I booked a 5 day stay 8 months in advance. I called a few days before to confirm my reservation. The day I checked in they told me, they could only let me stay 3 nights as THEY had over booked. I had 2 more parties with me as we had plans to do tours in the park. One party was told the same as I. This was a terrible way to start off our vacation, as we traveled over 800 miles. Why wasn't I called in February? So I could book somewhere else.
The pictures are deceiving. The room looks very nice through the lens of the professional photographer. That is not what you get. Total space of the bathroom, is about 5 1/2 feet x 4 1/2 ft. It's hard getting out of the shower and I am a smaller lady about 5 ft tall. Not an average person. Good luck if you a larger size person.
I put in for a king size bed. We got 2 doubles.
Hotel staff was rude when we went to ask about our reservations. Told me I shouldn't have booked through a third party. Also, told me if I didn't vacate on the day they told me to leave, they would call the park police and have me forcefully removed.
I spent at least 4 hours and 3 days of our vacation time to resolve this issue. Yes, we all (6 total) had to find another hotel.

The facilities are dated. The room we had had no smoke detector. One of the balcony chairs fabric was torn and made the chair unusable. The folding luggage holder was broken on one side. This would be a great place with some care of the facilities.

We we very satisfied with the room. There was a deck where we enjoyed a few sunsets and great star gazing after the moon set. The room reminded me of a Rorth woods cabin. Definitely not \"fancy\" but great for what it had. Deer outside of the restaurant some evenings. Convenient for hiking. Resonable restaurant and bar prices. Great fresh air. Families laughing in the evening and quiet hikers too. Staff was very friendly and worked hard to ensure we had a good time. If you need \"fancy\" this may not be a good fit. For a nice chill place to lay your head at night it was top notch.

My father and I stayed at the the Far View Lodge in Mesa Verde National Park. The location was fantastic from a convenience standpoint, as it saved us from the long, twisty drive up the road.

However, the rest of our stay was disappointing. Upon entering our room, there was a strong, unpleasant odor from the bathroom. I called the front desk, but they said they were sold out and couldn't move us, despite me seeing empty rooms. I accepted meal vouchers instead of a refund, as finding a last-minute hotel 25 miles away was not an option.

We also found a broken chair on our balcony. A replacement was delivered 30 minutes later. The room was basic—it had a small fridge and coffee maker, but no TV which was ok. More concerning, the advertised Wi-Fi didn't work in our building as we had no cell coverage.

The next morning, there was no soap or shampoo. The manager blamed this on \"supply chain issues\" and said the bathroom odor was a known maintenance problem that was never communicated to staff. It seems like the hotel, run by Aramark, needs to have higher standards.

While the location is great, I'm not sure I would stay again unless I knew improvements had been made.

It is great to stay within the National Park. The lodge was okay, a bit noisy, w lots of flashlight & car activity as it became dark, but it stopped & ultimately we could see the gorgeous full night sky. There was little to no shampoo, cream rinse, or soap in shower, pillows not fluffy, food a bit pricey, low on staff, the Espresso Cafe was out of eggs at breakfast, but hey...Check in was great. Park stunning though now one mostly has to pay $30. p/person on a guided tour to see gorgeous ruins up close. Different from 23 yrs. ago when we were there last...

Staying here was absolutely wonderful! The location couldn’t be more convenient—situated right inside the park, it made getting to all the nearby trails quick and easy. After a full day of exploring, it was such a relief to come back without a long drive.
The setting itself is incredibly peaceful. The property is quiet, and the views are absolutely stunning—it really feels like a retreat surrounded by nature. Waking up to such a beautiful landscape each morning was one of the highlights of our trip.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants both comfort and accessibility while enjoying the park. I’d definitely stay here again!

There could have been more food choices available in the lounge but the bartender and lounge staff were wonderful, friendly and very helpful as I was with my elderly mother who is picky. The original room we were given was filthy, to the point that it looked like there was throw up on the wall. There was blood on the bedspread and pillows. One of the washcloths looked like it had been used as toilet paper and was there as though it was fresh for somebody to use. The front desk staff gave us the runaround to begin with until the manager was able to intercept a message from us. She was absolutely amazing. She apologized for all of the problems and gave us another room the same day. She was kind and very capable and had things taken care of quickly. We were refunded for one of the nights of our stay. Management is amazing but the support staff is not. They appear to be understaffed and the support staff seemed to not care. I believe they are seasonal workers and do not have a stake in the lodge. There's a monopoly on the food. There are only 2 places to eat at, and they are open at different times throughout the day, so you have to eat at one of the other. The rooms do provide a small refrigerator, and they have ice machines which were helpful. The rooms do not have televisions. Bring cards or games for when you are in the room. No access to the internet and no cell phone service. The walls are thin, and you can hear everything in the other rooms around you. We were not impressed. Hopefully they get their act together. Next time we will just stay in the city and drive to Mesa Verde if we decide to go back. Positive = location.

The property is fantastic for location. It's an average national park room. Nothing fancy at all, but what they don't tell you is Mesa Verde has pack rats. They get into the room and nest in the cars. I paid for a double bed, but after seeing the rat run out of the room into the room next door, my daughter slept with me. It's not like we could go anywhere else at 2am. Be aware, you may have an extra companion with you that you didn't expect.

Location was outstanding though very far from town... like 40 minutes. Hotel was very run down and stayed. It was basically a step up from camping but not much. The rooms were really tiny and liked like they were from the Brady bunch era. Our AC didn't even work. Lucky the windows opened and the area was safe enough to leave our windows open all night so we didn't bake. Restaurant was okay but we found out that a block down the road they sell the safe entres at the cafe for significantly less and you don't have to pay a server. But the price wasn't bad. Not sure I would stay there again unless morning ride in the area was available for close to the same price. It wasn't terrible... again the area and views were great.

Far View Lodge was located approximately half way between the Visitors Center of park and points of interests. The lodge is operated by a concessionaire. Employees had limited knowledge/information of the park. It was difficult getting any info from them. The lodge rooms are extremely small for a family of four. There’s not many people staying there and it seems that they could have afforded making rooms a little bigger. It was difficult moving around the rooms with four adults and our luggage.
The restaurant was great! Delicious food for a fine dining experience.

Three good things....bed was comfortable, good view ( wild horses right out our window ), only place close to stay near the main part of the Park. Unfortunately, there were more bad things than good, especially considering the price! Linens were clean but badly stained, towels were ragged, baseboard off in the bathroom, ( a 5 minute repair job ), filter on the air conditioning unit was completely covered in dust and lint, maid help did not understand enough English to understand what was needed ( finely we helped ourselves to the necessary items from the open store room ), and those are only the things we can remember. The Lodge offers the only place to eat within miles and the food was so poor that we chose to eat cheese and crackers in the room for two nights! Unfortunately, if you don't want to drive the 25 miles back to Cortez, this is your only option!

If you go to National Parks frequently, you understand that staying inside the park cuts down so much time! From the entrance to the roads that lead to the dwellings, is a solid 30+ minute drive. The hotel had two dining options and a great little gaming area my kids enjoyed playing board games. We enjoyed our room, and loved looking at the stars in the evening. A great stay.

Arrived at check-in, only to be told by the hotel that they had cancelled our booking - still not found any prior notice from them. Probably the hotel over-booking and trying to get more like an airline? Well legally they may be entitled to do that (who knows?). But it does mean that deserve a zero mark. Not sure I can do that so a (very reluctant) one star.

Our room definitely needed some repairs. The shower door had to be lifted just so it would shut. The refrigerator was leaking water. The worse thing was my husband and I saw a mouse run across the room. After that we left the room went to the front desk. They offered us a different room but couldn’t guarantee that there wouldn’t be another mouse,said it was that time of the year. We choose not to stay at the Lodge that night.We were refunded. The staff member said they had started renovating some of the rooms hopefully they do all of them
We did eat supper at there lounge .They food was very good.

I was disappointed in the condition of the property There were several spaces the warning ralph and a toilet sitting out on a ramp. Our room and light bulbs out and the toilet paper holder was coming off the wall. the vanity and shelf were broken. the dinner dinning was very good and the service was very good. the cafe/lunch breakfast was not. the staff was annoyed we were there and the food was subpar

I love the National Parks, and so wish I could give this property a good rating. There were a couple of good things about our stay. One, we had a great dinner at the lodge restaurant. Two, it was very convenient to be able to stay in the park. However, our night’s stay was pretty awful—due to mice in our room. I spoke with another guest in the parking lot who also had a terrible night because of mice in their room. When I spoke to the front desk about it in the morning,, they weren’t apologetic at all—said yea, every National Park property has mice, squirrels or raccoons. What?? You should warn your guests to leave all food in their cars then, and work on getting rid ot the mice! It’s hard to beat the convenience ot staying in the park, but customers should know what they’re getting into!
