Amazing stay at Sthala for 3 nights! Located a bit outside the noisy and busy ubud centre you get your own slice of jungle paradise in this hotel which has basically everything you could ask for - gym, spa, amazing rooftop bar and restaurant with huge breakfast buffet and beautiful views of sunset for the daily happy hour on the rooftop bar! All the staff we met went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Would definitely recommend this stay to anyone in ubud looking for good accomodation. There is also multiple shuttles a day for free that run between ubud centre and the hotel, approx 30-50min depending on traffic!

My overall stay was wonderful—the room, the location, and the atmosphere were all excellent. The only issue I experienced was at the bar. When I entered, the servers offered me a seat and asked if I would like a drink. I said yes, and they told me they would bring me the menu. Unfortunately, after waiting for more than 15 minutes, no menu ever arrived. Meanwhile, other guests who came after me were served promptly. This situation made me feel a bit overlooked, so I eventually decided to return to my room. Aside from this, everything else about my stay was great, and I would still recommend this place.

The resort is beautiful! Its little out of the way but perfect location. Close enough to all the touristic areas. Staff was amazing..always attentive and friendly. Breakfast had a huge variety for western options and Balinese. We booked a family room one with 3 twin beds and another with a king and twin bed. The rooms were very spacious. We were a party of 5. They have 2 separate pool areas, which was perfect. I Highly recommend this place! Beautiful resort and amazing staff with delicious food and drinks! Would definitely come back and stay here again.

Upon our arrival, we were told that our room was on the 2nd floor and was recommended to upgrade to a superior room with a river view. We did; however, it was on the 5th floor directly in front of a swimming pool. The entire room, pillows, bed linen and blanket was very musty, mildew smell. Other guest said their room was the same. We switched to a room on the 6th floor at the end unit, which was better.

Only higher floor rooms offer a view of outside ,otherwise lower floor rooms feels claustophobic . It is a reasonable property ,nothing special to mention about . Food / restuarant was good though . It is also not walkable to ubud market & there is very limited transportation available if one wants to visit the market

There is not anything I would fault with the hotel. The staff are so attentive. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and has a really good selection of everything.
The evening dining options are also good. The location and shuttle into Ubud is a great addition.

Stunning property in a lovely scenic natural setting. Pictures could not capture all. I didn’t see another hotel that seemed to rival it. Staff had an exceptional concierge mentality (I.e. this was most impressive ). They literally spoiled me. They Kept an eye out for my best interest (ie activities, time frames, best prices for me, and the way I wanted to spend my time). The staff as a whole are super friendly. I Loved the included guided nature walk, yoga class and free shuttle to center of the town. Every staff member made me feel like a priority and welcomed.

We had few issues when we checked in. But the Manager Adi made the stay comfortable for us and sorted out all the issues we had. The issue is the building works happening next door is a little downside at the moment but Hotel Management trying really hard to maintain the brand reputation.

Best Decision Ever

What an incredible place. My friends & family & I are so thankful we ended up here after having to leave our previous hotel. I can’t say enough good things - the rooms are great, the pools are great, and the food is great. The breakfast buffet has thousands of options, and the dinner menu is great. The rooms aren’t anything crazy, but they are clean, spacious, and have a nice balcony. What really sets this hotel apart is the staff. Every single employee, from the check in staff to the cleaners to the cooks are so pleasant. We were a party of 6, and they knew us all by name, knew our coffee orders and knew our room numbers. They are incredibly polite and go above and beyond to help with anything. The shuttle to Ubud is a great touch, as is the complimentary water. We were due to leave this hotel to head further north, but decided to extend our stay by two nights due to the amazing experience. After hundreds of hotel stays, this is for sure a top-10 worldwide. Special thanks to Gayatri at the breakfast buffet for her kindness and attention.

Service is AMAZING. Can’t overstate how they are everywhere all the time and know what you want or need before you do. The location is nice, along the river. The upgrade to the river view wasn’t worth it for us though. From the bar, the restaurant, the pool etc. you always have a view of the river. Happy hour, BBQ night, Satay night… all amazing! Likewise with the incredible buffet breakfast every morning!

A truly memorable experience. This is my second time with a Marriott Bonvoy hotel and it never fails to impress me yet again. The staff was extremely friendly from the moment I step in till I leave the hotel. They were very proactive in catering to my request and were always ready to strike a conversation with guests.
The rooms were quite clean, comfortable with a taste of Balinese touch. The breakfast buffet was also great and they offer a variety of dining options as well. Overall a great experience !!

Amazing stay!! My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and we were very impressed with the hotel. t was a gorgeous hotel and we loved our little room with the balcony too! The pools are very good also. We enjoyed breakfast here every morning and cannot fault the food served in the hotel! The staff were very kind and attentive and customer service was brilliant! We also loved the fact that there was a shuttle bus to take you into Ubud which was very convenient and the driver is a lovely man! Would highly recommend here!

Ubud is a lovely area and Sthala provides a perfect spot for relaxing. They offer many daily activities such as yoga, cycling and a shuttle. Despite the free shuttle, it is a FAR walk from the markets from where the shuttle stops (roughly 20-25 mins!).
There’s no minibar in the room and the closest mart is around a 15-20 mins walk.
Our main receptionist is super fabulous but other staff do not seem to know much of the local area. Some could not even answer in-house questions. I feel the staff overall needs to be more well-informed as Ubud can feel like a rather secluded place.
Sthala is lovely for recharging by the pool, and we recommend you hire a driver for a day or two for sightseeing and eating out.

Give it a miss if not river or pool view!

I was happy with the overall of all staff of the hotel except for the manager Wirta on the first day of check in. I was not happy with the room, it was near to the road and soundproof was snot good. I requested for other room and was willing to top up for the upgrade but all the manager offer was keep iterating that my booking was not for the river or pool view and I need to paid additional to upgrade. I already told him I am willing to pay the difference but he did not get it and keep repeating as if I am not willing to top up the difference. No constructive help fro hi at all!

A very nice hotel that is completely renovated. Located 20 minutes south of Ubud on a river. It has two pools, a very good gym and a lovely rooftop bar.. My room was very good: modern glass walled bathroom, excellent bed and a nice balcony with view of pool, rooftop bar and river below. Free shuttle takes guests to and from Ubud. My only disappointment is the location. Hotel is in a small town on a semi busy road with no conveniences. Other than that, it is splendid.

Although this hotel is Ubud it's a good half hour drive from the centre. When you check in they insist on you paying approx £25 towards your food and drinks bill which I've never had anywhere else. The hotel itself is clean and the room is spacious but we were at the front of the hotel which has a lot of road noise. Food and drinks are more expensive than elsewhere due to you being a bit isolated. The bar on the top floor has swing seats which are fun. There are 2 pools and some great views.

Overall it was excellent. We booked 6 rooms for my family trip. Rooms are clean, breakfast has a good variety and delicious. The hotel is not too far from Ubud center and provides free shuttles to nearby supermart, with many restaurants around.

The best part is the hospitality. The staff really serve with heart in. We are always greeted everywhere in the hotel, even the cleaning staff. The staff is super helpful. I remember we were super tired after a day trip and we forgot to book the shuttle at night. The shuttle bus was already full. They manage to accommodate our request and arrange shuttles for us, 12 seats and only 15 minutes before the departure time. The hospitality really exceeds all our expectations.
