My second time staying here while traveling. It’s a charming hotel that has been upgraded with nice colors and furnishings. It’s clean, quiet and safe. The night I stayed there, park rangers from over were having a conference there so there was a lot of law enforcement presence.

I like the hotel. But, turning on the TV is a learning experience. Have to select HDMI every time the TV is turned on. Just never experienced anything like that. Parking was convenient. Room was clean. Staff was nice. Like the nostalgic look of the place.

Fit the bill to see the Natural Bridge easily, but would never return. Highlights of the hotel: Dirty room, blood on the bathroom floor, no hot water after running for 20min, was not given the room we reserved, broken elevator, peeling wallpaper, covered fire detector sensors, subpar overpriced food (menu not accurate: side AND vegetable implies you receive both. Also if this is written behind a chicken dish its shocking when pasta is placed in front of you, over oiled breakfast, not edible)

Breakfast was meh but the place was clean. Elevator wasn't working so we got our steps in hoofing it to the 3rd floor. All in all a pleasant stay, plus it's right across the street (you can access by a tunnel) from Natural Bridge State Park.

The Tyler house was great. It was clean and comfortable. The outdoor fire pit was a fun surprise. The kitchen had enough cookware and dishes. The only thing I would have possibly added was more living room seating but using the dining chairs made up for that. The staff was extremely kind.

The hotel is very nice and quaint for an older hotel. The staff is extremely nice and courteous and the restaurant serves very good food. The rooms are clean and the AC and heat work very well. We enjoyed our stay.

Front desk and restaurant staff were just excellent - friendly, courteous & efficient. The only complaint is that the hotel is in need of major updates & cleaning. Our room was comfortable,but the bathroom was REALLY dirty. The shower stall was dirty. The shower fixtures were covered with hard water stains. We were in a handicap accessible room that had a seat in the shower & an adjustable shower head. The seat was gross & the shower head couldn't be adjusted higher to stand under. The toilet was very dirty & leaked as well. There was chipped/peeling paint in our room & throughout the hotel. This hotel has so much history & is so close to the Natural Bridge; it deserves a proper restoration. We definitely enjoyed ourselves & will be back again.

Tons of potential. They have a beautiful building that needs a bit of updating - mainly the bathrooms. Also cleanliness could be better addressed. Cobwebs and dead moths in bedroom. Cobwebs hanging from the chandelier in the dining room. The front desk staff and the waitress at breakfast were very nice and treated people respectfully.

Room was dirty and the to releave any steam from the shower. Toilet made loud screeching sounds after every flush. On sunday morning the front desk ladt refused to wait to force luggage cart into the very small elevator with us in it so we were forced out to have to take the stairs to the 3rd floor and then same again to go back down to lobby from the 3rd floor we had to use the stairs with our luggage to go chexk out. Room was decent. Bed was not the most comfortable but thats pretty much anywhere nowadays if you don't want to pay $500 to stay somewhere. Food at the restaurant was good. Drinks at the tavern were spot on. All in all was a good getaway for a night.

This property has a majestic look on the outside and is set in the beautiful mountains of Virginia.

The inside areas including the guest rooms need a complete redo. Everything in the rooms and public areas is old and worn. Repainting and removal of old vents/grates would help tremendously. The hallways have a \"dusty/old\" odor.

The hotel “looked” great from the outside. But upon entering, looked like a teenager who just swept hurriedly cleaned it. Dust and dirt visibly seen around floor near furniture. Carpet dirty. When we checked into our room, found dog food on the floor. And fitted sheet on king size bed, had either food, blood or other stain right in the center of the bed. Called front desk and they put us in another room but had two queen beds. That room was better, but still had dirty baseboards and terrible smell. When checking out next day, asked if we received a discount for the inconvenience and was told no because we booked through Expedia. Will “NOT” stay again.

At arrival we waited a very long time while the front desk person was behind closed doors speaking to someone. Eventually another staff person came and interrupted her to come out and help a growing line of guests. The tavern needs to get better help as well. Everyone seems unhappy

The room was ok except the balcony door hard to open and NEEDS to be replace. The toilet was slow and total stopped flushing the next morning. We put in a work order the morning of the Oct. 8th but the maintenence man didn't show up till 3:30 or so. He told my wife it was fixed but no change after he left to go home. I contacted the front desk and they called me back and said i would have to charge rooms which would mean we had to load up and move all our belongings again. I told them if we had to load up we would much rather go ahead and go home. (3 hr. Trip) The manager said they would refund the night if we wanted to leave so we did.
Its a beautiful hotel with lots of history. It just needs much TLC from Wyndham company.

Staff was very friendly. We’ve stayed before, and the improvements are noticeable and good, but there’s still work to do. Food service was excellent. Food was average.
Our room was nicer than last time, but the carpet wasn’t clean. I think the problem was the vacuum cleaner. I spoke to the woman who was cleaning our corridor to help me get rid of some stink bugs in the room. She was very helpful but told me her vacuum cleaner had poor suction, which made it hard to catch the bugs. Not her fault. She was very nice.

The property is impressive in size and design. Not well maintained nor managed. Our rooms were on the second floor. The hall was in obvious needs of painting, wall covering repair and general cleaning. The rooms were small and dark. The in room refrigerator made a terrible noise whenever it was running. There was loud talking in the hallway till after 1AM. I will never stay there again.

Our room was a little outdated. The overall hotel had many photos and memorabilia which was nice. Downstairs was the gym, but the stairs were dirty, and the area was untidy.
The restaurant and bar were excellent. Check in took a while since there was only one attendant at the desk. Hotel is in walking distance to the Natural Bridge, which was awesome!

This property is desperately in need of an update. The ceilings in the rooms are crumbling in areas and I passed on using the shower due to the condition. The hotel also smelled of strange substances (if you know what I mean) in the hallways. Lastly, if a hotel has info on human trafficking in the rooms, it’s probably not the best establishment. Unfortunately, there are not many hotel options in this area, but in future I will book in Lexington.

While the location fit my needs, the property was both worn and tired. They were seriously understaffed, the dining room experience was questionable.
While the service was fine, the food was sub par and served cold. One dish was canceled as it did not make it out of the kitchen. The steak, advertised as a ribeye, was a joke - dry, thin, tough and tasteless. The dessert saved my tastebuds. Bath and facial tissue extremly poor quality. Having spent years in the hospitality business, it is hard to believe this property is up to Wyndham standards.

This is our 6th visit to Natural Bridge and 4th staying at the hotel. We had never stayed in the main building and will not do it again. I get that the building is old, very old, but the rooms were smelly (like wet), the water pressure was a drizzle and shot all over the place, the furniture was mixed-matched, the doors didn't shut properly, and the fridge kept us up all night. The front staff wasn't very kind. They did not want to assist us. We asked a few questions about the Natural Bridge and things about the hotel's past. I was told....\"that's a State Park\". This is the 1st time we have not enjoyed our stay.

Great location for natural bridge park, Dinosaur Kingdom II, this sweeping hotel did its service. Check in was excellent however we ran into problems with our shower not functioning. Beds were were comfortable and what we needed after a long day of travel.

It is an OLD building. The desk person had to physically show us to our room. Looks like it may have been a supply room at one time? Rather odd. But it was comfortable for one night. Hotel, ws great the bar attached was great friendly service and nice food, would have liked more vegetarian option but what was on offer was okay, however the breakfast at $16.99 per head was awful, very little choice at all and no vegetarian choice, just a load of fried stuff, no fruit cereals, bread or pastries very poor for the money. Saying it is an all you can eat buffet is all well and good, but there was nothing I wanted to eat.
