There was no backup water supply when the facility needed to shut off the water to the rooms for an emergency repair on Friday, April 18, 2025. This issue caused a significant delay in my activities during this trip.

The mattress was extremely soft and that's a deal breaker for me. Booked 2 nights but left without a refund after the first since I didn't sleep a wink. Obviously won't recommend but if you need/want soft mattresses, it's a solid, functional option for the price.

The hotel was very nice, but they don't address guests complaints as well as they should. The hallway walls were repainted, but there were no \"wet signs\" to inform guests to not touch or rest on the walls. It took days for the paint to dry and paint dripped down the walls onto the floors creating a safety hazard and stains on clothes. I reported this, and all they said was \"I'm so sorry ma\" But my clothes were badly stained. Also, my car was bashed into while parked on the property under the watch of the hotel night security personnel. Not only did they let the driver go, they didn't informed me and i noticed and brought it to their attention. Again, all i got was \"I'm so sorry ma.\"

I normally stay at Shoregate anytime I'm in Lagos. On this ocassion, I booked two nights but the hotel refused to refund a night's stay despite giving advance notice of flight cancellations.

First time back in Nigeria after 6 years and I am disappointed in this and many other hotels. I am not picky but expect a certain minimum standard of cleanliness in a hotel.
I was given room 208 and on entering the hall way, there appeared to be what looked like a huge shaped mold or mark from water leakage on the ceiling of the 2nd floor. Absolutely disgusting.
In my room, the bed was too soft and not at all comfortable for me.
The bathroom was dirty, you could tell that it was cleaned on surface level, but there were many dirt marks from in the cracks and crevices of the bathroom from a lack of actual deep cleaning. The shower head was also dirty.
I checked in at about 6PM and checked out for my next flight the following morning by 5AM So I did not get to see much with daylight.
But it is disappointing to see that a hotel of this nature, that obviously pays staff to clean, does not ensure that cleaning job is inspected for deep cleaning.
In a short while, a lot of those molds and dirt in the bathroom will become permanent.
Please do better.

My stay was in two parts. I left and returned due to the amazing service I received the first time, which I didn't get at the other hotel I checked into. This is the best hotel I have stayed in so far and have to keep reminding myself this is Lagos! The rooms are beautiful with no expense spared on the quality of furniture, shower, toiletries etc.
The only con would be the state of the gym which requires updating but the facilities are functional. Overall, I am impressed and would recommend this hotel to friends and family. I hope the standard is maintained.

The outside and inside is beautiful, like the fact they had good breakfast options and helpful staff. My bathroom just sound like water was constantly running in the toilet like when the tank is filling. And a screeching sound when you sit on the toilet. I also think there’s signs of mold in the bathroom, maybe from humidity from hot water and no way to properly get it out quick.
