The historic, rambling, quaint inn is perfectly situated in a lovely town. The rooms are comfortable, the public spaces are interesting and the owners are involved and very hospitable.

We had breakfast in the on-site restaurant and aside from it being delicious, we had excellent service.

I would happily stay again in any of the seasons as the community has activities all year round.

The house is a beautiful Victorian mansion, well preserved and full of charming details. There are many steps to the upper floors and no elevator. Our room was comfortable and clean and the heat-A/C worked well. Breakfast is delicious and reasonably priced. We walked 10 minutes into town for shopping and other meals. I would happily stay here again.

Quaint as a Victorian lace button.
However lack of guests made for most services being closed during our stay.
Would have loved to have a drink in their gorgeous pub.
Also, make sure you try your \"night code\".
Mine didn't work, was trapped outside for 90min after slipping out for a 5:30 cigarette.

The property is old but in good condition. While the property was full our assigned room was considerably smaller than what I had expected. The service was excellent. Breakfast at the Inn was very good and reasonably priced. If you are the last to check in you get assigned to the 3rd floor which has very small rooms.

Service rapide, chaleureux et professionnel. Du service au-dela des esperances comme on n’en voit plus.
Tout etait extremement propre mais l’endroit a besoin d’amour. Il y a des pieces superbes inexploitées comme un theatre et une salle a diner. C’est defraichi de maniere generale et le matelas etait vraiment trop dur. De plus, il n’y a plus de bar tel que c’est indiqué dans la description.

The unique feature about this hotel, which was very negative for me as a senior with a severe knee problem, was that it required walking up three flights of stairs, with our luggage, to get to our room. The circular staircase was particularly dangerous for me. There was no elevator. If we had known about this requirement in advance, we never would have booked a room there. Either Expedia or the hotel itself should make this requirement crystal clear in your advertisements for this property.

This place is a time capsule, and so beautiful and quiet. We came up to escape the noise that is 4th of July in New Hampshire and stayed in a suite with balcony access. What a gem! The innkeepers, too, are treasures.

This is a really cool 150 year old building in the heart of Lac Brome. Like all auberges there are tons of public rooms through the building from a bar to a restaurant to sitting areas and a massive front balcony. It's a five minute walk from some great restaurants and also from the lac brome marina. Rooms are small but nice and clean and have all the features you'd need. We were there one night for a wedding. Would go back and stay several days to enjoy the space and the town.

We were there during off season so the town was quiet and the hotel even quieter, but we found the staff charming and full of ancedotes. Because of the season we were upgrated to a small studio.

Room was clean, comfortable. No complaints at all.

Looking forward to returning again.

We loved this historic place, but were sorry to see that it was so empty, with its restaurant closed. We were there mid-week, so believe more people would be there on a weekend. The inn is vast, with well-appointed rooms for guests wonderful common areas furnished in eclectic Victorian style. We enjoyed the easy walk downhill to town and the nearby trail to a beach.

Beautiful and comfortable old Victorian style inn with many antiques. Great location. Very helpful staff. Would be great to have a coffeemaker in the room or at least in the lobby so you don’t have to drive a mile to the nearest coffee shop. Rooms were very clean although on the last day I was covered in bug bites which appear to be from bed bugs. That room #26 should be checked. My travel companion in the next room did not have any bites.

I understand that the Inn is a very old building and the character of the place is part of the overall experience. The room was acceptable, but the hall and entrance appears tired and one gets the impression that facility is struggling given the competition in the area and the expectations of clientele coming into the area.
We would not return in this facility's current state and would not recommend it unless someone was desperate.

Lovely romantic and charming inn in the heart of Knowlton. Very clean with very friendly staff. Room was small (think European style) but nicely furnished. Nice pool area and beautiful front veranda. Although no restaurant is available (I had read the reviews so I was aware), there is a room on the second floor with a table, two small fridges, toaster, microwave and kettle. Nice cafes and restaurants within walking distance and a Tim Hortons a short drive away. Walking distance to the antique shops of the town and to the beach on the lake.

Overall this hotel would have been 5 stars, however when we left it seems there were some sort of bugs or spiders in our room and one of us left with bites all over our body. We contacted the hotel to advise them, but they never bothered responding. Also no receipt of the bill when we checked out, even after e-mailing and requesting.

A lovely, clean and historic Inn. I was sad to see that in the height of the summer season it only appeared to have about 1/2 a dozen guests, and the bar and dining facilities appeared to be closed. Perhaps they, like elsewhere, are having trouble getting staff... I hope it was experiencing a temporary business lull, as it would be sad to lose such a lovely and historic place.

The property and the surrounding was absolutely gorgeous. The old style auberge was properly maintained and very clean. It was also located close to the shops and restaurants.
we always prefer to have access to coffee and breakfast (at least continental breakfast) in the room or on the premises and this was not available. Other than that, beautiful accommodations in a gorgeous setting. Cheers!

Unfortunately this beautiful old house has many charms but the house and garden could use a bit of maintenance. The first floor reception rooms and restaurant are closed so no breakfast on premises, No coffee.
The pool and rooms however were very clean.

Thes best room is the pub. Beautiful bar! It was empty everyday. And therefore seemed closed. It was on our departure that we learnt that we could have gone there anytime. Again, smashing English pub!!

Generally clean with comfortable bed and friendly staff. However, the wi-fi was very poor and resulted in unstable tv channels as well as very slow web browsing. Although this was an acceptable place to stay at, the price charged seems to be high compared to other hotels we stayed at that featured more modern settings with more features included.

very nice victorian place. my only problem was that we were on the 3rd floor walkup so I had to carry my bags up because there is no elevator. This is not so easy for a 77 year old lady with a heart condition. But the beds were comfortable and the room was pretty clean. Small but clean.

Le service à l'accueil est excellent, le personnel très poli et respectueux et c'est TRÈS propre. La piscine est très agréable. Malheureusement, il n'y a pas de restaurant ouvert. Nous devons sortir prendre un café le matin. Très désagréable. Seul le service du bar est ouvert à la demande. Glace à volonté aussi. La bâtisse est magnifique, mais les chambres sont petites. Nous étions du côté des Victoriennes. Il y a du tapis partout : pas bon pour l'asthme et les allergies. Lavabo dans la chambre à côté du lit : ce n'est pas pratique. La douche est minuscule, pas très pratique. L'asphalte du stationnement est brisée partout : beaucoup de réparations à faire. Danger pour briser les chevilles. Le Wi-Fi est déficient et ne fonctionne pas bien. Je trouve que c'est très dispendieux pour ce qui est offert.

The Auberge is staffed by friendly, caring people who take care of details and go the extra mile to provide service to guests. The property is a lovely old Victorian, tastefully decorated. The negative for me was the bed: very, very hard. The room we had was small, too, but there are others to choose from if they're available. We would love to return.

The hotel is a lovely old building that is undergoing some renovations. The ambiance is great for an old hotel, but they really should provide a coffee maker and perhaps some muffins for the customers in the morning. There are no meals so customers have to go into Knowlton to the restaurants, if they're open. The neighborhood is beautiful, tall trees and quietness. All in all, a very nice place to stay.

The property is fabulous - it has such a history that walking into the lobby is like walking into a living museum.

The staff is supper friendly and courteous.
While the bar is very well appointed, unfortunately there is no food service - BUT it is an easy walk to either the Knowlton Pub or the Marina (both of which are excellent)

This was our 2nd visit and won't be our last !!

The hosts were very friendly and gracious. Some areas of the interior of the building are very nice, like stepping into a period-piece movie. The room was very small, though nicely appointed. On the unpleasant side, the bed was rock hard to the point of hurting my shoulders and hips (side sleeper). Full disclosure, my wife didn't mind the bed but would have preferred softer too. We were both disappointed to find the brand new TV was useless because it relied on WiFi that was far too weak on the high floor of our room. It wasn't that big of a deal for us, but it is fixable so should be fixed. Overall, pretty decent and deserving of 3 stars in my opinion.

Great staff! Went above and beyond. Unfortunately, although it advertises a restaurant and A/C, neither were open or working. The bar had taps for beer but no beer on tap. :-)
Lovely location, but we didn't actually see the lake from the Inn. Within walking distance to fabulous little cafe and restaurants. Great location to drive to other areas of the Townships.
Hope that tourism picks up despite Covid waves and that all amenities offered by this lovely Inn will be restored.

I agree with two earlier reviewers. The old-fashioned look and tone of the place was historical and interesting. However, the beds were NOT conducive to sleep...it was basically impossible to sleep on that mattress. The hot water was great....but the sound proofing was a myth.

when first I approached this property from the outside, Int looked run down and I wasn't sure I wanted to stay. My room however was charming - nicely appointed - old but good. Knowlton is very small town. Not having an opened restaurant nor breakfast at this hotel is a big inconvenience. Rooms are very very small and needs updating. Big Smell of humidity in lobby . It’s ok but i would not recommend
