Ok for one night

Fine for one night before an early flight. Hotel is old and nothing within walking distance. We ate at a mall nearby. Overall fine for what we needed.

Pretty nice.

It's a lovely facility, quite large. wrong time of year for swimming but the pool area looked nice. the internet was spotty and not secure so couldn't use it for a couple of things. it's right off the freeway and there's nothing around it to walk to. if you have a car then nothing is too far away. it's very close to the airport.

Located about 10 minutes drive away from Catania, so you will probably need a car if you want to visit the city. The hotel is in a good condition but it feels a little dated. The pool was clean and thankfully not very busy.

Convient to the airport

The hotel location is convient to the airport. Finding the hotel was a little difficult. Some of the hotel road signs seemed to send us off course. The hotel is a good choice if you have an early morning flight.

Cheap hotel, nice pool

Its a good hotel that is located in the freeway 10 mins away by car from Catania, 40 mins away from Taormina and Siracusa. This hotel is perfect if you need a middle point to visit a few cities. It has a little market a block away and a gas station. The pool was perfect for relaxing after a long walk in the city. The rooms are goid with a/c and lots of channels (mostly italian). 5 min drive is a huge shopping mall with lots of brands stores and restaurants (zara, tommy hillfuger, h&m) Check in was fast and we had no noise at night. The only bad thing was the breakfast! Very poor breakfast choices. Overall i recommend it if you have a car and want to visit around the coast line withouth changing hotels on every city!

Nice but hard to find. Here's how.

This is an hotel located in a service area, and it is very difficult to find. See below for help. The hotel itself is very nice, with a good restaurant, and a large pool. There really is nothing around the area. The service area is Il Gelso Bianco, and there is north side and a south side one. Coming from the east on A-19, heading west, exit SLOWLY into Il Gelso Bianco North, and keep hard to your right, hard, hard, hard. DO NOT FOLLOW the signs for autos into the service area!! Stay hard right. You will see the sign to the hotel, and the hotel. Coming west on A-19, heading east, exit SLOWLY into Il Gelso Bianco South, and keep hard to your right, hard, hard, so you go around behind the service area and along a road until you can turn left through a little underpass and go uphill to the hotel. DO NOT FOLLOW the signs for autos into the service area!!

Close to Airport for Early Flights

Hotel is quiet and comfortable, despite being close to two motorways. Restaurant is pretty average, but the hotel's big advantage and the reason we chose to stay there, is that it's close to Catania's airport for early flights. It's just a short drive and only takes about 15 minutes, if you know where you're going. Wouldn't choose to stay there for holiday pleasure, but fine for the last night in Sicily.

Posizione strategica e basta.

Io e la mia famiglia abbiamo soggiornato lì una notte. Posizione dell'hotel ottima, vicino all'aeroporto, autostrada, Ikea, centro commerciale, a 20 minuti dal centro. La pecca è lo stato in cui si trova. Molto decadente e soprattutto sporco. Sporco il bagno, sporca la moquette dei corridoi, sporco l'ascensore. Colazione essenziale ma tutto sommato accettabile. Il personale graziosissimo. Spero possano provvedere al più presto perché le formiche in bagno non sono state una bella vista!

Check in forløb uden problemer. Fik et værelse mod poolen, og dermed også mod indflyvningsruten til lufthavnen, hvilket giver lidt støj.
Restauranten på hotellet har et meget begrænset menukort.

L'hôtel est glauque, le style déco à l'ancienne...
Sans compter les avions qui passent fréquemment au dessus de l'hôtel.

Für einen Stopover bestens geeignet.

Da wir mit unserem 6 Monate alten Baby unterwegs waren und erst abends in Catania landeten, beschlossen wir bereits im Vorfeld, in der Nähe des Flughafens eine Übernachtung einzuplanen.
Der Check-in gegen 22 Uhr verlief reibungslos, jedoch fanden wir im Zimmer statt des gewünschten Babybetts ein drittes Bett vor, das zudem eine sehr alte (?) und schlechte Federkernmatraze aufwies. Die Matratze des Doppelbettes war in Ordnung. Zudem lag das Zimmer am Ende des Ganges und das Wlan reichte nicht bis dorthin.
Nach Rückfrage an der Rezeption wurde uns sofort ein anderes Zimmer zugewiesen und dort auch umgehend ein Babybett aufgebaut. Für das nun verfügbare Wlan-Netz hätte man jedoch wohl noch ein Passwort gebraucht, doch wir waren zu müde, um ein weiteres Mal an die Rezeption zu gehen.
Das italienische Frühstück am nächsten Morgen war ok; statt die 08/15-Kaffeemaschine am Buffet zu nutzen, kann man auch direkt an der Bar einen \"richtigen\", frischen Kaffee kostenfrei bestellen.
Neben dem Speisesaal liegt der Pool-Bereich, den wir zwar nicht nutzten, der aber durchaus einladend aussah.
Für einen Stopover würde ich das Hotel jederzeit weiterempfehlen.

Zweckmäßiges Hotel in Flughafennähe

Haben ein Hotel in Flughafennähe für die letzte Nacht unseres Urlaubes benötigt, für diesen Zweck war die Unterkunft absolut in Ordnung. Liegt direkt an der Autobahn und in der Einflugschneise zum Flughafen, dafür erstaunlich wenig Lärmbelästigung. Zimmerausstattung und Frühstücksbuffet waren in Ordnung, allerdings kein WLAN-Signal auf dem Zimmer (vermutlich, da dieses am Ende des Ganges lag).

Verzorgd hotel in de nabijheid van de autostrade

Wij zijn in dit hotel één nacht verbleven. Het ligt in de buurt van de luchthaven en langs de autostrade. Toch is er niet te veel lawaai. Het is ideaal om vandaaruit een rondreis aan te vatten. Het ontbijt was zeer verzorgd.

Tres bien pour \"tuer\" une journée avant de prendre l'avion. Par contre c'est assez vetuste, propre mais vétuste. La grande piscine permet de passer le temps. Hotel acceptable et proche de l'aeroport. un bon rapport qualité-prix.

Ottimo per chi viaggia sulla Catania Palermo

Ottimo, si trova all'uscira dell'autostrada Gelso Bianco in direzione di Catania. VIcinissimo all'aeroporto di Catania.
Parcheggio interno. Perfetto per una sosta breve !
Era quello che serviva a me in transito verso Agrigento.

discreto hotel adatto ad un'utenza affari vicino

e' la seconda volta che soggiorno all'hotel il Gelso Bianco. in entrambe le occasioni mi sono trovato bene ed i servizi sono discreti. L'arredamento delle stanze utilizzate puo' essere definito non modernissimo ma in ottime condizioni. I servizi igienici invece sono un po' datati e vecchi pur se in ottime condizioni. Scomoda e' la presenza della vasca doccia al posto del piatto doccia. La pulizia della camera e' invece ottima e dello stesso giudizio sono lenzuola, coperte ed asciugamani. Migliori potrebbero essere le dotazioni accessorie del servizio igienico (sapone, shampo, cuffia ecc. ecc.). Potrebbero essere migliorati e modernizzati gli arredi comuni di corridoi, ingresso ed hall (rivestimenti, ascensore ecc. ecc.) e l' hotellerie in genere del ristorante. Il personale di servizio e dirigente, sia dell'hotel che del ristorante, e' invece da lodare: efficiente, discreto e professionale; il servizio e' veloce, preciso e molto disponibile. La segnaletica per raggiungere l'hotel dovrebbe essere molto migliorata e resa molto piu' visibile data la particolare ubicazione dell'hotel in un'area di servizio della tangenziale. I cartelli segnaletici lungo l'autostrada e nelle strade cittadine dovrebbero essere sostituiti con altri di caratteri piu' grandi e piu' visibili specialmente di notte. I cartelli dovrebbero essere piu' fitti e possibilmente illuminati.

Niente di eccezionale...

Un hotel con posizione strategica a due passi dall'aereoporto, dotato di piscina all'aperto. Camere con evidenti segni di deterioramento e scarsa pulizia. Frigobar con solo acqua, colazione povera e di bassa qualità, zona circostante squallida, unica attrazione...un distributore di carburante. Per un 3 stelle prezzo da rivedere al ribasso, per lo scarso rapporto tra costi e servizi. Migliorabile perchè è un peccato vederlo cosi..

Camere e bagni puliti. Mancanza di un secondo cuscino in camera. Colazione varia e abbondante. Cortesia e disponibilità del personale. Se capita il vento giusto, si trova sulla rotta di atterraggio o decollo del vicino aeroporto di Fontana Rossa. Accessibile da entrambe le direzioni dell'autostrada PA-CT. Con ampio parcheggio a disposizione della clientela.

Som transit, for vort vedkommende, perfekt.
