Had to switch rooms because our first one had dirty towels and smelled of smoke. Staff was courteous in making the change. Wifi was in and out the whole time. The wind caused roof damage on our 2nd night, so there was debris in the parking lot. Location wasn't bad but could have been cleaner and better cared for.

The shower curtain liner should have been changed out long ago.
We took a blanket out of the dresser drawer only to find a dead bug under the blanket. The towels need to be replaced/ugraded; specifically the hand towels and washcloths as they were disintegrating in our hands while using them. The overall experience was less than what we had expected.

Worst hotel ever. First time in my life that I can’t stay and have to find another hotel to stay at. The room was gross and in very bad shape. Most of all, there was a terrible chemical odor due to fresh painting fumes. I had to chase them for a full refund, which they finally accepted. As others wrote, if you need a shelter stay there, if you are looking for a decent hotel room don’t. Good luck.

Bed was wonderful, we thought pillows would be bad but they were just fine. Room was very clean. Huge tv in room. I liked not having carpet, it’s cleaner. Only complaint was the coffee we had to make in room was awful and they don’t have a pot of coffee in office you can get any good coffee at. We had deer in parking lot when we drove in at night so we had fun seeing those. We would for sure go back and stay.

The room was amazing! Very clean and spacious. The layout was very different with a bar and a sofa. These were in addition to the standard table, chairs and bench to put your luggage on. All-in-all a very good choice. It was also VERY QUIET. It was nice to be able to relax and not hear every noise coming from outside. I highly recommend staying here.

We did not receive the room we had booked. We had booked a king bed and had a confirmation for that but were told at desk when we arrived that we had booked two queens. Even when i showed them the confirmation email, we were told that it was wrong that their records showed something different and they did not have a king available for the length of our stay. We could have it for thursday night but someone else booked it for friday and saturday. Of course we were not interested in moving after one night.They told us we should take it up with Expedia.

Although the room was surface clean, it needs a serious deep cleaning. We stayed 3 nights and our room was never serviced during our stay. we had to ask for clean towels twice. We were unable to turn the AC on and had to get a manager in Upon arrival. The TV remote was missing and We again had to call for help. The ice machine did not work at all during our stay. We were not at all pleased with the stay at the River Oak and will not stay there again nor recommend it to anyone.

At checkout, I had wanted to express my concerns to rhe front desk, but no one was there. Just a sign to drop off my key. Definitely not the worst hotel experience we've ever had, but we're not intrrested in staying there again.

Customer service is nonexistent. We were arriving later than we were expecting originally so I called to verify my room was still going to be available. Called four times over an hour and no answer. I finally got someone to answer on the fifth call. When I got there, the lady was just rude. As if I need to check in was an inconvenience to her. We arrived at 7:30 PM so it shouldn’t have been an inconvenience. Additionally, there was mold on the wall above the shower, water damage to the walls and broken handrail in the bathtub with a sharp edge. Messy putty job to fill the hole where the pole came out. The next morning when I went to check out, the office is locked still at 8:30 in the morning. Try to reach the front desk by phone and they don’t answer so when I had to ring the bell several times she told me I needed to be patient. Patient was long gone waiting for their service.

It was OK, bed was nice, huge TV, good hot water pressure, clean, easy check in/out. Lovely receptionist...there were some repairs less than stellar however. There was toilet paper filling a hole in the baseboard in the RR, as well as the chewed up doorstop in the RR and there was pealing paint on the RR door.

We arrived late in the evening (around 11 pm) to check-in. You cannot go inside. They have the door locked and you have to use a "night-window". No one was coming to the window, despite my husband pushing the doorbell button. I finally had to call the number on my Expedia reservation for someone to come to the front. The hotel is a little rundown. You can tell they tried to update some things, but the work is sloppy (i.e., there was a hole in the ceiling in the bathroom area of our room). I will say, it seems like they upgraded the beds, which was a huge plus. The beds and the pillows were excellent, and there were 3 beds in our room, which was very accommodating for our family of 4 + 2 dogs. The beds make up for anything else that I may not have liked, given that we only needed to be there to sleep for 1 night. Checkout was easy, and they allow pets, which was a huge plus for us.

The shower knob was literally falling out of the wall. The towels were the size of hand towels, poor quality, smelled bad and were old. The room had a horrible odor we had to buy freshener it smelled so bad. We had to wait 15 min to check in.

I felt that $124 was too much for the stay and occupancy. Checked in. Guy was nice. Gave me a water. Go to the room on 100 degree day and no water! City shut off main. Not property fault. But nasty after a long day riding. Toilet was not bolted to floor. Tv was really nice.

The service upon check-in was very good. The room on the other hand was not good. Overall, the motel needs an upgrade. The toilet seat in our room was very loose. The bathroom door had two ceramic tiles taped to the door to cover an apparent hole in the door. The AC unit leaked water in the room, and I had to summon someone to mop up the water. Overall, the room was very outdated, with dirty tile, the bathroom door frame was rotting away, and the sink had chips in it. There is a restaurant adjacent to the property, so parking is an issue. My wife is unsteady on her feet so would have liked to park closer to our room. The only redeeming factor was a large screen TV. Bandera is a popular place to visit, but recommend staying elsewhere!

The wall outlets didn't work. There were only 2 and neither one worked. The only outlet that worked was the ones attached to the lamp by the bedside table.
There's no overhead light so you have to walk across the room to the bed and cut the lamp on
There was a standing lamp in the corner I tried to cut on first but it didn't work.
The blow-dryer didn't work either (probably because the outlets didn't work that they were plugged into, idk)
And when I put the toilet lid down it was really gross around the parts where the lid connects to the seat. And the basket on the counter that they put the soap bottles in was full of dust and men's beard hairs.
Other than that though it was spotless, so I can't really complain.
They also didn't offer any bars of soap, like for our hands you know. So we had to run to the store and buy a bar of soap ourselves.
The bed was okay. It wasn't terrible or anything. The pillows were really bad though. They're feather pillows and completely flat.

EVERYTHING ELSE THOUGH was great. We had a fantastic stay, it was very clean for the type of motel it is and there was a nice kitty cat that came to visit us outside. We fed him and petted him and that honestly made the whole experience a 9/10 for us lol. The hotel should adopt him as their hotel cat. I think it would really bring in ALOT of customers and give good reviews.
Get him neutered and feed him, let him hang out in the office sometimes! Hes the black and white cat

Rooms have been redone, and were nice. Mattress was to soft for me, but my husband slept well. Needs cleanup on the outside. But apparently remodeling might have still been going on. Which was ok. Restaurant on property was still great and the staff was more than helpful.

Room and fixtures are dated. Room 110 has a good TV. There were scuff markes on the wall and door to the restroom. The towels in the sink area looked dirty. The towel rack was broken. The bathroom walls were dirty. The base board was dirty. The counter top was water danaged the mat in the tup was dirty. So disapointing. I will never stay there again.
