We were there the week of Christmas. We figured things would possibly be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and it was. We stayed in an older house that could use newer furniture and table/cabinet for the coffee maker.

Great cabin stay for family of four

We stayed in the Apache Cabins. Our young girls loved the bunk beds, and the other bed was good for my wife and I. Good A/C, clean, quiet, and had nice views. Very close to town and other great places to visit. Pool was nice and they provided great night time entertainment (cowboy story campfire with s’mores and live music in the bar.

If you are looking for great spot to kick back and relaxing this is it. I was super impressed with how hard they work to keep it low key but entertaining. Clean rooms , 2 playground and a huge out door pool. The in town restaurants amazing and shopping was a total different atmosphere then what you get in huge city.

Wasnt a bad stay at all. Cabins were really nice and staff was awesome. The onsite restaurant is a no-go! We plan on going back to the ranch but won't eat here. Plenty of choices in town. Feeding the deer with cowboy Buck on the wagon ride was a blast!! Overall a really fun & nice place.

We stayed in an Apache cabin which was clean and comfortable, although the mattress was noisy when we shifted around. Evening campfires and wagon rides to feed the deer were still available even though we were there in the fall. It was somewhat inconvenient that we could not charge purchases or bar/restaurant charges to our room and had to carry cash or cards. It was disappointing that the golf course, driving range and putting green were all under construction, but we were aware of this going in and expect that the final results will be worth the wait. Pizza in the bar was delicious. It also seemed a little strange to us that there are personal homes scattered around the resort property.

We stayed here to observe the eclipse on Oct. 14 and it was perfect for that. We were able to set up our telescopes on a huge expanse of lawn in front of the cabins. The cabins themselves are fine. They are log cabins, and ours was crammed with beds in order to sleep 4. It was rustic themed and very nice. The only bad thing was there was almost no light at night! Except for the bathroom there were only two dim lightbulbs. There was no way I could read a book. The coffee pot was very mediocre, as were the soap/shampoos. But it was adequate and we totally enjoyed the cabin. (I gave the property conditions only 3 stars because lots of attractions on the property were closed because they were redoing the irrigation system.)

I gave four stars because the amenities are good, biking, tennis, basketball, horse riding and walking trails. I booked the historic suite. The layout was bad! The front door opens to the primary bedroom. Lots of bugs were waiting to get in at night. The furnitures, bedding and towels are uniformly brown, making it hard to tell how clean or unclean they are, but the floor is definitely dusty because my socks turned black quickly. The Grill on-site has limited staff. We were sent to town for dinner at 8pm even though the grill was supposed to close at 10pm. Fortunately the town is 7 minutes away and a few restaurants open late. The ground of the resort is pleasant and quiet.

It's like a dude ranch / resort. Our room was small. The bed was uncomfortable and noisy. Squeaked every time we moved. For a resort there really wasn't much to do and the restaurant was closed. Pool was decent. I had hoped for more activities. I asked about upgrading upon arrival and was told they really couldn't because I booked through Expedia.

First time at Flying L. It was conveniently located and easy to find. The cabin was perfect for just me, it is small - but sleeps 4. Clean and smelling good, quiet. Pool was relaxing, not crowded. Breakfast tacos in the restaurant were good. Perfect place for an overnight in Bandera.

The property is nice in some areas, the historic villas that we stayed in are outdated not historic. The bed may be the hardest I’ve ever slept on. Dead bugs in the room, the first thing you see when you walk up is the soffit rotting and falling down. The pool was nice but the water park they advertise has been closed for a long time. I was really hoping to like this place, we go down a couple times a year, but this place will not be on the list for next trip.

These rooms are amazing for large families. Hotel was very clean. Staff was very nice and helpful. Located within walking distance to The Magic Time Machine restaurant, which is a huge hit with families. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here.
