Guest parking was very secure. Up right next to your own little cottage and our dogs were very welcome with plenty of room to roam outside and take care of business. The motel furnished doggy bags and trash cans.

Motel was located across a river you can walk to. They had a free Christmas trail of lights. Tracey was amazing she had great recommendations and a whole list of things to do and where to eat. The room was big and adorable, comfortable and clean. Didn’t get to use the bonfire but we will definitely be back!

This was our 2nd stay at The Vaquero. We love the place! The cabins are clean and spacious. The owner is always so friendly and helpful. It’s like coming to stay with an old friend every time! The Vaquero is centrally located and within walking distance to restaurants, boutiques and local bars.

Our only “complaint” is the WiFi signal isn’t great so the TV buffers a lot when using streaming services, but that’s to be expected in small towns, I would think.

The Vaquero will continue to be “our place” when visiting Bandera.

The cabin was awesome. Went to get away for a few days. A minutes walk from the river. Nature at its best. Ducks, deer, birds. Very peaceful. Walk away to great restaurants, bars, dancehalls, boutiques and shopping. Cabin was clean and quiet. Absolutely enjoyed this 2 day get away.

The beds were comfortable and the room was so clean upon arrival. The host was very accommodating and kept in touch all week. I will be back and highly recommend this place 😊

The front office staff were very cordial and welcoming. The cabin was quaint and comfortable.The location was very convenient and walking distance to the little town shops and restaurants.
I stayed in cabin 8 and my complaints were that the shower was very small and was stopped up so the water would fill up. The headboard on the queen bed was leaning forward. The extension chord they had on the nightstand by the bed did not work. I didnt feel too safe cause the door was really loose even when deadbolted locked. They advertised a river view which was a park across the street with the river at the bottom of the hill that you could not even see. Lastly, the Motel is next to a busy street so you could'nt sleep in, with the traffic passing through really early in the morning. Even with the few things that went wrong, I would stay there again for the comfort and the loving welcome they offered.

This is a very nice cabin atmosphere, directly across the beautiful park of the Medina river, with a full kitchen and very comfortable bed and nice shower. The only thing I would mention to be aware there is a $75 pet fee, which I think is steep versus other places.

This is an adorable collection of 11 cabins -- All seem to be decorated and equipped differently, but ours was so nice inside: rustic and comfortable. Bedding was great, linens were nice, kitchen was well-equipped and the location was perfect! We were only there one night, but the central use area would have been fun, especially for multi-family or multi-friend groups. So Recommend It. (and it cost less than near-by hotel!)

This was the perfect quiet rural getaway for my wife and I! During the stay, we were treated to local cuisines, crafts, history, and wildlife. Deer actually walked by our cabin along with ducks eating deer corn right next to me on our front porch! Very awesome relaxing environment! Bring bug spray of course!

There was no one at the reception when I arrived at 6pm (not at midnight, not at 8pm!!) at the property. They left the key for the cabin in an envelope. There is nobody I could ask how the TV works, it is a silly TV! The windows don't open even though they look like they can be opened. This place is not run down, but for the price it is really terrible. It is not worth 136 USD. I would like to claim a refund. Can you take it up with the property??

We loved our cabin and Tracy at the office was very informative, friendly and welcoming. The cabin was clean and had a nice kitchenette with a sink and everything we could have needed was furnished in the cabin. We could walk to the park and river across the street as well as to shops, bars and restaurants. We also liked the visit from the ducks, geese and deer and we were given a baggie of dried corn to feed them. We would definitely recommend The Vaquero for a stay in Bandera.

Good location/easy access - neat little property!

Great location for quick access in and out of town. Near the major highway so road noise was a bit of issue if you wanted to sit out in the evening and enjoy the surroundings. Internet was unstable - went in and out, but we weren't there for TV and just used cellular for phones so not a big issue. Lock on our cabin door was missing the faceplate - there was apparently a previous attempt to break in as the top door hinge was sort of repaired, but we did feel safe. Bed was SUPER comfortable!! Shower was a bit small, but had hot water! Fun little property with horseshoes, cornhole and great places to sit out. Area was well maintained and plenty of parking. Good spot for the money!

The cabins have been updated along with the the grounds. Park and river across the street with deer arriving nightly. Beds are comfortable. Fire pits and wood for individual fires and a larger area for group fire.
