Swiss hotel Macassar

Mixed review for this one - check in painfully slow, first room booked was the sea view room. Seeing the view was made diificult due to the filthy windows - mini bar and tv didnt work. Credit to the management who upgraded me immediately.
Next room was much better and the views terrific. Slightly annoyed with room service who hung up on me due to my poor attempt at Bahasa. Breakfast buffet and pool were good. Gym was pathetic. Would hesitate to recommend.

The Hotel is amazing. The rooms are great and you have a nice rooftop bar. Also the pool was nice and the location is perfect in the middle of the city of Makassar. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful. From the hotel you can easily take a boat trip to Samalona Island. It takes only 25 min. I would definitely recommend Swiss-bel Hotel when you are going to visit Makassar.

After complaint - top service

Check in was smooth. We liked the hotel and wanted to extend our stay for one night. Had to be moved to a different category room, which was fine with us. After being told two times they will call us back in the room and transfer us to
The new room still nothing happened. We waited 2 hours in our room in the end got transferred to the operator where no one picked up the phone.

After I heavily complained at the reception and requested the manager to explain that this is not how four star hotels can treat their clients, things started moving.
We got transferred to the new room and a dedicated person from the reception helped us immediately with all further requests and questions during our stay. Nungki was very helpful in organizing us massages in the room (which were splendid!!) and helping us to arrange our tour to Toraja.
Later in the day we got a phone call from the management who wanted to upgrade our room as means of apologies for the inconveniences.
I would book the hotel again; rooms were clean and showers were warm. However, Swiss hospitality standards must be looked for elsewhere.

Loudy experience at swissbel makassar

Bad experience.
They changed my room and moved my stuffs without informing me.
I realised only when I entered the room to find all my belonging missing.
The room behind the lift is very noisy, the mechanisms of the lifts can be heard from the room. Will not stay this hotel again.
Nice is good only if you stay high floor.

Check-In queuing took very long time, around 30mins per guest. The ocean view is good, but you must pay higher price. Balcony cannot be unlocked, so it is not useful. Cleanliness is not good, many ants on table and other insects. Breakfast is not so tasty.

I was impressed with the service during my visit which was during the fasting month and the pandemic. The room was clean and well serviced but, (and this is something that might seem trivial), the shower rose was slightly corroded and this causes a less controllable and comfortable flow of water, the same thing happens in my home. Also the dining area was quite warm. Apart from that all was good. Great ocean views on one side and Fort Rotterdam on the other.

New, but hotel NOT ready to receive guests

Just checked out after a 2 night stay at this brand new, impressive looking hotel from the outside located near the port of Makassar and the City Hall. However, I just dont think that they're ready to welcome guests at all. Let me run thru the pros and cons:

Pros: 1. Location is superb, just opposite Fort Rotterdam and on the waterfront. Walking distance to Losari Beach and street food bazaar
2. Sizeable room, strong aircon, comfy bed
3. Fairly complete in-room amenities including a mini fridge, an impressive looking 40\" HD LED TV, slippers, and free mineral waters, coffee and tea.
4. Dining area has patio outside overlooking the Makassar port and a perfect place to catch some sea breeeze.

Cons: 1. Clueless and poorly trained staff: Front desk staff did not recognize what Orbitz is therefore having trouble locating my reservation. Promised to follow up on the reservation issue the morning after but never did. Had to chase them again a day after check in and was told it was resolved satisfactorily (apparently after Orbitz had sent them some sort of confirmation). However, upon checkout different FO clerk insisted thaf I pay for the accommodations again even after getting assurance the night before that everything was in order. Need approximately another 30 minutes just to find the same note that the night before clerk had found in less than a minute! While I was at the front desk, noticed that those two ladies manning the reception were overwhelmed by requests with free park

Some issues were a challenge.
When we checked in our non-smoking room was unavailable and we could only be moved to a non-smoking room after two days.
One elevator was out of order leading to very very long wait times as the hotel was full and too many people for just two elevators.
When we did move room, we have to stand a queue for 45 minutes just to get our new key

El hotel tiene una ubicación con una vista espectacular; sin embargo las instalaciones son algo antiguas y las habitaciones aunque cómodas necesitan renovarse. El personal es muy amable; algunos problemas con el inglés pero se logra comunicar. El desayuno tiene pocas frutas y los jugos son artificiales.

The hotel room was big and the bed comfortable. About the part that I didn't like, two points to mention. There was no soup and tissue on the lobby restrooms ( I went in two consecutive days in the morning around 9 pm). They had three umbrellas to borrow and the three of them were broken. Even if they were broken they stored them at the entrance and didn't throw it away.

Men personalet i receptionen, var fuldstændig uinteresseret i at hjælpe os, da vi havde en del problemer. Deres engelsk var mega dårligt.

Einchecken dauerte über eine halbe Stunde, auf Gästewünsche wurde nicht eingegangen, Zimmerschlüssel funktionierten nicht, Safe war nicht funktionsfähig, abgetragene Latschen standen zur Verfügung , Kühlschrank funktionierte nicht, an der Frühstückbar hatte es Pasta in Gläsern als Deko in welchen sich ein Mausenest und jede Menge Mausekot befand, und -mein Zimmer war im 19. Stock - eine Disco mit super lauter Musik im 20. Stock.
Auf Reklamationen wurde nur mit einem Lächeln und Sorry geantwortet. Das Glas mit dem Mäusekot wurde einfach gedreht dass man es nicht mehr sieht, etc.

Very helpful staff. Breakfast was very tasty, a wide choice, including sushi. Excellent location, next to the Lossari beach and port, from very are going boats to beautiful small islands. Our children enjoyed staing at pool. Room was spacey and city view very nice. We enjoyed our 3 days in this hotel very much.
