Great location just outside the city with privacy, quiet and wonderful Mountain View’s. Staff was very helpful with getting information on the driving conditions on Route 40. We were there during a quiet time. A few staff did a lot of work. Grounds are very nice. Pool needed a bit of maintenance but that wasn’t important to our group of 6. Dinner was nice. Breakfast was very good. The whole place is a little older but we enjoyed the charm and the environment. There’s a large common area where one can sit for drinks or games or a rest.

Perfect location for a relaxing few days! The hotel is beautifully located among the hills of Cachi. The views from every window are stunning. The ride today to town is about 7 minutes. Service was good and the meals at the restaurant were very good. We scheduled a massage upon arrival and that was great. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but bring your own toiletries. It would be great if these included lotion and better hair products. Everything else was very good.

Great little retreat

We booked for one night during our trip. The hotel building is very tastefully restored with nice comfortable rooms. The pool was nice, but a little windy which was the sacrifice for the wonderful views! Food and drinks were reasonably priced and the staff were all excellent. We wished we had time to stay another night!

It was calm, serene, quiet and peaceful. At 19.00 the bar area was empty, silent, tomb - like. We ordered two lovely glasses of wine and sat there in the silence enjoying the moment as the thunder tumbled in the mountains. At 20.00 the lights were switched on in the restaurant and we entered to a hushed area with one other couple at a table - so we talked in whispers. Food and wine were good - but don’t come here for the atmosphere which is non-existent. But for one night, a calm and peaceful retreat!

beautiful, peaceful place about 30 min walking distance from Cachi town. The surrounding mountains are snow covered in summer. There is nothing around the hotel other than unspoilt nature. The hotel is in 2 floors and looks like it would have been a Hacienda in the good old days. High ceilings, tasteful interior decorations and tiled floors. Rooms have radiators, so I guess it gets very cold in the winter months. There is a spa and a pool, both of which are 50-60 meters from the rooms. Food is excellent and the bar is open whole day. Dinner only starts at 8pm – which is early by Argentinean standards. There is ample car parking. There is no minibar and the rooms are basic, no TV, comfortable large bed (over 6 x 6 feet). The breakfast was reasonable – scrambled eggs, fruits, tea, coffee and sweet bakes (like in the rest of Argentina)

This is in the middle of nowhere so you have to use their restaurant for dinner . Restaurant ok but not fantastic will limited choice. meat was perfectly cooked and service was attentive

Great Boutique Hotel

We had a great visit in Cachi. The hotel is difficult to get to since we drove from Cafayate to Cachi on a dirt road for 120 miles and took us 6 hrs to complete. The premises are well appointed and very peaceful place to rest or go out and enjoy the outdoors. Breakfast was very simple with pastries, cereal, coffee and bread. Overall a great stay.

Perfect hotel atop a hill: great morning views

A very accommodating hotel staff at a pretty new, but 'old' looking hotel. It gave us the idea of a Spanish paradore hotel. Nice decorations, large rooms (sometimes connecting doors) and huge, firm beds. Parking at the hotel's grounds. We'd the best meal during our Argentina holiday at La Merced del Alto. The waitress told us her English was not good, but it was superb and we didn't need the dictionary to translate all dishes. Homemade products and fresh orange juice at breakfast as well. In the lobby there's a seating area for adults as well as for the younger ones. As we planned to go to Tilcara not via Salta but by taking RN 40, the hotel staff went beyond by checking with the police whether the road was safe to drive (because of ice/snow). If you have a 4WD and need to go north, be adventurous and take this beautiful mountain road. Overall a great experience in Cachi!

Basic rooms, average bathroom fittings, poor service from front desk and restaurant. This hotel could be so much better with decent staff and management. Food in the restaurant was poorly cooked, pork was overcooked and tough. Breakfast was good - bread, pastries and jams so hard to go wrong really.

a high class hotel in Cachi

This 4 year-old hotel is built in colonial style, with large rooms and tastful decor. The views from the hotel are spectacular. I found it a little monastic as the decor lacks warmth and we actually felt cold in the restaurant, although the weather was hot. Breakfast was excellent. At dinner, two of the eight choices of main course were not available, which was disappointing, especially as we were first in for dinner. However, the meal that we had was very good and the service was excellent. We were advised not to drink the tap water, and one 500 ml bottle of water was provided in the room, which was insufficient, considering the dehydrating effect of the high altitude. Overall, it is an excellent hotel, with high standards, and we have no serious criticisms, although I felt more comfortable in others in NW Argentina.

Alem de todos os demais quesitos terem sido maravilhosamente bem atendidos, como limpeza, atendimento, conforto e localizacao privilegiada, gostaria de destacar a beleza do Hotel. Tanto a estrutura do prédio quanto a area exterior são belissimas. As fotos nao fazem jus. O jardim é impecavelmente bem mantido. Vale passear por ele e aprecisar seu belo jardim e vista para belas montanhas. O predio é mt bem mantido e bonito. O restaurante confortavel e agradavel. Jantamos nele um dia e a comida estava excelente e o atendimento acolhedor e eficiente. Recomendo muito. Foi uma grande surpresa em Cachi

Un endroit magique

L'hôtel est magnifiquement situé au-dessus du village. La vue sur les montagnes est magnifique. Le complexe est très bien entretenu et dispose d'une piscine, mais il n'y a malheureusement pas d'ombre. La chambre était aménagée avec beaucoup de goût et des matériaux naturels. Le petit-déjeuner est correct, le dîner aussi. Dans l'ensemble, c'est un endroit magique !

O Hotel é excelente, muito aconchegante, com estilo bem típico da região, uma propriedade estilo fazenda, com muito bom gosto e limpeza. O hotel é enorme, contém um ótimo restaurante, uma piscina, uma área externa com brinquedo infantil, área comum grande para convivência em grupos, uma torre com vista 360 graus da região e até uma linda capela ao estilo do local. A única coisa não perfeita é o acesso de uns 7 minutos por uma estrada de terra e a distância do centro, para quem está de carro não vejo problema, mas quem não estiver dificulta bastante.

L’hôtel est plutôt original car c’est un ancien couvent. Les chambres sont spartiates mais confortables. Le personnel est très accueillant et la vue est magnifique !

Hele mooie locatie maar voor de prijs had ik wel een betere voorzieningen verwacht. Badkamer was erg gedateerd en zwembad niet heel schoon. Ook ontbijt was matig. Het uitzicht daarentegen maakt alles goed.

Ein wundervoller Ort zum Ausspannen und Erholen in einer einmaligen Umgebung. Die Anfahrt ist etwas mühsam, aber lohnt. Das Hotel ist außergewöhnlich. Alles ist liebevoll gestaltet. Die Zimmer sind groß, die Badezimmer wie bereits beschrieben individuell mit Badewanne. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und lecker. Wir haben uns 3 Nächte wohlgefühlt und würden sofort wiederkommen. Einzig der Preis scheint etwas zu hoch.

The Communication skills of this hotels are really bad. You not secure if somebody is there to check you in. After 2 times trying to get a connection, nobody responded. Strange when You work and act in hospitality industry. Would not recommend to go.

La atención cambio radicalmente dependiendo el personal de turno, lo mismo que la limpieza. Por suerte el último día nos tocó la mejor versión del hotel asi que nos fuimos con una buena impresión finalmente, pero deberían cuidar el standard de calidad, sobre todo para las pretensiones que tiene el hotel. Para tener en cuenta, todas las habitaciones están comunicadas con un techo de caña que transmite todos los sonidos. Desayuno bueno. Lo mejor del hotel es la vista, su inserción en el paisaje, inmejorable.

Das Hotel liegt ausserhalb, ist aber dank guter Schilder im Ort problemlos zu finden. Das Haus ist empfehlenswert, obwohl das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht ausgeglichen ist.
