Check in was slow for 10 pm. No complimentary breakfast. Our rooms bathroom ceiling was covered in something pink and long hairs. The shower had some kind of substance all over the wall of it.
Christopher
The breakfast was disappointing. Expected a little better quality. Many included breakfasts are much better.
Scott
The staff was fine. The rooms were good. The hotel would have been perfectly fine if the AC worked. It was hot when we got in the room. The thermostat said 78. We turned it to 72 and left. When we got back it was 79. The front desk said he would come reset it. In the meantime we turned it off completely and then back on. It started work after a few minutes. Yahoo. It got down to 75 and we were able to fall asleep. We woke up about 3 am and it was 80 in the room. Turned it off back on. It works. Cools down. Wake up in the morning and it 79. It’s totally unacceptable that the AC doesn’t work. We had two different rooms between the 5 of us and both rooms were the same. Don’t stay here if it’s hot out!

Time has stood still and it’s still 1984 at the Holiday Inn Manitowoc. While this may be nostalgic, it’s not pretty when it comes to basic hotel expectations in the year 2026. This Holiday Inn needs a serious rehab to bring it to hotel standards that are expected by the traveler in 2026
Randy
Nice hotel, the rear entry doors and entrance ways could use some work. First time i entered through one i thought i was going into a run down motel.
Maria
I love the location and the view. Walk distance from the lake.
Kimberly
No USB ports in the rooms for charging. Paint peeling off the doors in the bathroom.
Seong Hyek
it is ok property
Kathy
Beautiful hotel. A joy to stay there. Offered everything I needed. For example: restaurant.
Tim
Room was excellent. But the stair at the back were very dirty. The grounds not well maintained when you mow you clean sidewalks after.
Matthias
check in was fine. nice person at front desk. the experience went south from there, unfortunately. at 1030pm, we were asleep, until a man tried to gain entry to our room. (thankfully we had put the extra interior lock on.) person tried numerous times to get in. did not identify himself, nothing. turns out they had to switch something with the televisions, (switch to different tv service i think). now, why you would do this at 1030pm on a friday night? no idea. could have told us at check in that they were doing it shortly, but nope. when we spoke to this employee, he was rude, as if it was us inconveniencing him! \"nobody is supposed to be in that room!\" um, obviously we were. he told us he needed to do it then. i said no! absolutely not. he then insisted that they had to do it in the morning, i again said NO. we don't need it, do it another time. when i called the front desk, different person from checkin there, answered phone by saying, \"hold\" and put me on hold. nothing like, \"good evening, this is front desk, may i please put you on a short hold?\" nope. this happened all 3 times this weekend when i called the front desk. on that call, he came back on with \"what do you want?\". nice. i stopped by the front desk in the morning, \"i absolutely do NOT want anyone in our room. NO setting up the tv, no new towels/sheets, don't need it.\" she said, absolutely, no problem. came back that night, bed made, stuff moved around. POOR. breakfast was decent. person at checkout was nice.

We stayed here during the MotoAmerica race weekend & couldn't be happier. There was some signs in the room of things that need to be fixed, door w water damage for instance, but overall great place. Good location, helpful staff, & easy to get around. Loved the all day coffee!
Alison
Hotel was very clean but is in great need of an update. Old carpet, dark hallways, damage to doors and walls.
Joan
Nothing says \"Welcome\" like dead plants, peeling faux leather, and wall wraps falling off a filthy elevator. Toilet seat falling off must have been missed by the cleaning staff. No charging ports for smart devices, and beds hard as a rock, and well worn on one side! Other than that, will find somewhere else next visit, perhaps a 2 or 3 star hotel.

Nice breakfast. Hot tub was nice and hot.
Jordyn
Friendly staff and very clean room!
Tammy
Didn't use amenities but the place was clean, staff friendly and convenient to get to
Kylie
Pool and hot tub was just absolutely disgusting. you could see the brown/green along the outside like it hasnt been cleaned in MONTHS. gunk in the hot tub and you could see chunks in the bubbles. just didnt seem very clean or sanitary at all. staff checking in was super nice, but when i returned my keys the lady had an attitude. the room was mid. a little gross, smelled like cigarettes. lots of imperfections in the paint and seals of the room. not a great stay :(
Leighanne
Nice clean basic hotel. Breakfast buffet was what you’d expect. Had the pool mostly to ourselves.
Amanda
Clean and the accommodations to have joined rooms was convenient
Jarid
Pleasant stay
ERNEST
The breakfast buffet was ok. It is very hard to keep food hot in chafing dishes and that is understandable.
Jason
Beautiful place would absolutely stay there again when I come to town
Shannon

Most of the \"hot\" breakfast items were cold. The staff helping with breakfast were very friendly. The hallway on our floor smelled like Marijuana. Our room had multiple staples laying on the carpet. I noticed a sticky substance on the bottom of one of our lamps.
Makinzi
The entire hotel reeked of weed the whole time we were there . Felt dirty and very out of date. We wouldn’t return.
Samuel
The atrium view room was absolutely stunning. The bathroom shower was a little rusted, but I guess that’s just what you get sometimes
Khristopher
Loved it hotel and staff were pleasant and relaxing would come again
Lisa
Older hotel but the rooms were clean. We did not have time to explore much, as we were only there for a short time, but we would stay again. Nice place for a weekend price of $104. No free breakfast but there is a Kwik Trip and / or McDonald's down the road.
Kurt
Room was just what I needed to relax
Lisa
It’s a lovely hotel. We were particularly happy to use the pool and hot tub. They were very well maintained with good water temp. (Greatly appreciated in January.) Breakfast buffet was well worth the small additional charge, though I feel a Wisconsin buffet should offer butter! Would definitely stay here again.
Thomas
This location does not live up to the reputation. Staff wasnt polite. Rooms were worn down. Beds uncomfortable. Breakfast was very basic in my opinion. For the price i personally did not feel it was worth it.
Shawn
Staff was super nice and made it easy to check in. The room had some damage before I came in and one of the lights didn’t work, there was also some dust on the bed. But overall nice solid choice for the price!
Michael
Both of my rooms were very neglected. Mold and bubbling paint in bathroom. Venner pulled off bathroom door. Stains on wall and ceilings. In desperate need of a renovations. Will not stay again. A storm with blizzard warnings was issued so I didn’t even stay the second night. Would love a refund on the second night.
Keith
Bad mattress, I had sore back in morning.
Too loud, felt like the bed was on the shoulder of the highway.
Bait and switch. They offered free meal in online package, but then told me I had to pay for it when I arrived.

Room was great. Just needed a place to sleep following my mother's funeral. Thank you!
CHRISTINA
There was blood on the sheets.

I had to search for someone to check me in, and she seemed a little annoyed with having to come to the podium.
I also had to track someone down to pay for some items from the \"market\".
The towel rack in the bathroom was loose/broken, but there was no one around at checkout to let them know.

Clean easy check in
Erin
We had a great time. The only thing I suggest is not having the rooms at 74 degrees. It was so hot in our room. We turned the temperature down to 65 but it would not go below 71. We stayed in the winter. I’m just not use to such a warm room. We keep our heat at home at 67. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub.
Richard
It would have been very helpful if they shoveled the snow. It was awfully hard for a handicapped person to navigate their lazy snow removal
Elizabeth
Usually when I stayed here it's well clean. This time around, we had some expired milk drinks in our refrigerator that my kids thought the hotel gave to us. Had some trash near our beds and glass. Didn't have as much towels as we usually do. Only 2 big ones and 4 small ones hung above toilet. Our heater/ air conditioning was very loud which made it hard to sleep.
Overall stay was nice. Beds were comfortable. Kids loved the pool as always. Staff was very nice. Big parking lot which I love!

Bruce
Breakfast was not avaliable.
Erica
The hotel is old and appears to have been remodeled at one point so the furniture is \"newer.\" There was an awful smoke smell in the hallways and the rest of the hotel had an odd smell to it. The hotel was very dark and they did not turn on all the lights and assume due to saving electricity. We will not be staying again.
Robert
My wife and I were in WI for a funeral service, and Gary went out his way to ensure our stay was great. Gary was very thoughtful and caring. Thank you!
Debbie
Hot tub was great. We dis not eat breakfast.
Roman
Modern! A lot of food options!
Niko
Great
Robert
Rooms were nice and the staff was friendly!
Brittany
Cleanliness was not up to par, old food was left in the fridge of the room, floors unkept and not vacuumed. The breakfast was not worth the price at all, barely any items.
Jason
Room was ready. Everything was as expected
Claudia
Room was good bar tender in bar was inexperienced and couldn't make anything other than opening a bottle of wine or nert
Robert
Nice rooms and staff.
James

Overall a great stay. Negatives - safe in room did not work, no USB plugs in the room. Had to go out and buy an adapter to charge my phone.
Glenna
Nice affordable location for going to Packers game. Friendly staff
RENE
The shower had mildew in it. The couch and carpeting were very old and windows were very dirty. The room was old and smelled like smoke. For $200 a night, we expected premium. We went to the breakfast buffet and nothing was left. All we could get was a bagel and a yogurt at 9:10am
JOSHUA
clean and updated hotel
Dawn
The hotel itself was a bit dated but it was clean and a great value for the money. Would have been nice to have breakfast included, but there is a restaurant on site and a Perkins next door.
Steve
Heater a bit noisy but overall everthing was acceptable.
Parth
The room was really bad with blankets having dirty spots and had used towel in bathroom. Room carpet was dirty and had bedbugs and gave me rash
Gabrielle
Great times were had.
It was an amazing stay. My brother and I came to see our girlfriends. This will be our home when we come down.
Charles

Clean and safe place to stay!
Jessica
Great service
Cortney
Super nice hotel and surrounding area. We were able to walk to dinner.
Kyna
Service was great, pool and hot tub were nice but the rest of the hotel needs a good deep clean. Dirty carpet, walls, room cleanliness was mediocre and elevators were disgusting.
Jay
The bedding and mattress slept fantastic! Our room was clean and as expected. Seeing Glade plug ins in the hotel hallways was odd. The swimming pool and hot tub was very nice, but had to ask the front desk to restock pool towels. The wallpaper in our bathroom was peeling.
Charles
A charge of $16.78 was charged to my credit card for breakfast. There was not a continental breakfast in the lobby, and we assumed that the breakfast was included in our room stay!
Chet
Room was clean and comfortable. Need to wash their windows, especially those looking from the elevator to the beautiful atrium.
Amy
A specifically got this hotel because they had a business center and I needed computer use. I called to make sure that they had an actual business center. The front desk person said yes but the printer wasn’t working. I said as long as the computers are working, that’s what I need she Verified that yes they were working and when I got there and had already paid computers were not working so it was a waste

The hotel offers a calming experience as soon as you walk in! They also have movies playing during the day and evening to help unwind!
The bed was a bit stiff for our comfort but that’s our personal opinion! To the next it could be perfect!
The breakfast food wasn’t the best, we got there later in the morning and the waffles and potatoes were dried out.
The bar was nice!!! The had an amazing Bloody Mary and cheesecake!!! So yum!
Definitely would return for sure!

Food options and service in bar/restaurant very slow. Way overpriced.
Heather
Waited at the desk for 10 minutes so we could check on. There was staff present
Leilani
The carpet in the room was disgusting. everything else was great.
Jose
The water in the shower didn't draining properly, making it a very grose experience.
Charles
A broken down hotel with paper thin walls.
The walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbors TV throughout the night. It was so loud we could not sleep. The towel rack was broke & hanging off the wall. The toilet seat was cracked with severe damage. We had a two night stay and the Kleenex was never replaced. Holiday Inn is never again!!!
Rick
Everything was fantastic. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Clean, friendly and the gentlemen who take care of the breakfast every morning are fantastic.
Isabel
The room that they gave us was on the second floor, and our window view, was a flat roof top. I was not expecting that. The wall under our window had pealing paint as well as the ceiling. The exhaust in our bathroom didn’t seem to be working properly, every towel we used stayed wet. After a swim in the pool our suits, towels and our body was left smelling very musky. We’ve had better for the price we paid. The shopping and dining place’s were the only positives for our stay. Hope you can offer something better next time.
Jim
Some of the staff was a little too religous for us. Should keep their religious beliefs to themselves.
Jean

When we checked in, it was late and we were tired. Apparently there was a kid’s baseball tournament over the weekend and there were kids running around the lobby without shoes on. As we were waiting in line, one of the hotel employees was yelling at the kids to stop running. Then she proceeded to go and stand behind one of the computer kiosks, and we made eye contact with her several times assuming she would check us in. Apparently that was not her job though. We continued to wait for several minutes while she typed. There were kids running up and down the hallways on our floor. Fortunately once we got in the room we couldn’t hear them as well. The room was ok but felt old and weathered and there was mold inside the picture in the bathroom. The light next to my side of the bed was so dim that it was basically useless, but I really didn’t feel like braving the hallways one more time to ask someone about it.
