The location was wonderful, within walking distance to museums, shopping, parks, and spa. The view of the lake from the hotel was spectacular, especially when the ferry was docking. Access to the YMCA next door is another perk.Pool and sauna very nice too. A well managed hotel in a charming town.

The room was clean and comfortable. The common areas needed a little more attention to cleaning. The complementary breakfast was very limited and had a poor set up for the number of people using it.

The staff were super friendly and wanting to help all the time. It was disappointing the hot tub was under repair as we were hiking lots and planned on using it and we were not informed that it was out of commission. The best thing about it was the location. Right across the river from the Wharf, some great live music on the weekend, and the right next to the Maritime Museum.

This was a quick getaway for us. The location was perfect. The room was nice enough.

There were a couple small issues, but nothing that would keep us from staying her again.

The continental breakfast was a bit disappointing, but that seems to have become the standard for most hotels.

The hot tub in the pool area was not working. But beyond that, they didn’t drain it and it was BROWN with some kind of sediment sitting on the bottom. There was black liquid leaking from the roof above the pool, dripping in the ground in multiple places. The women’s restroom has a toilet so brown I thought I was in jail. There are MULTIPLE signs of a failing, leaking roof. There’s an ACTIVE ant colony living in the pool area. It’s winter in Wisconsin, and they have live ants in the pool room, and it was 65 degrees in there. I turned up the thermostat and it didn’t ever turn on and warm up. I didn’t swim, at all. And in fact, I left the hotel after 6 hours. I will NEVER come back. And, I made sure to take pictures of everything I described and posted them online.

We stayed here after getting off the ferry. It was fine and probably the best option for walking around the area. They are very clear about not offering breakfast so I knew we’d need to go out if we wanted to eat. I’d stay here again if I wanted to visit the area. The area just doesn’t have much to offer except the museum.

I was really happy with this hotel! The bed and pillows were really comfortable - lots of full size pillows lol! Nice waterfront location on the marina, walking paths & a couple restaurants within a few minutes. Since it was summer I went to the beautiful local beaches & did not use the pool or hot tub. I did skip the continental breakfast & opted for the brunch place one block away. Parking was great. They could clean up the exterior doorways as there are a lot of spiderwebs on the outside in the summer - like lots! Overall, really enjoyed my stay!

The only thing I thought was odd is the towels and bedding all felt damp to me. The room wasn’t humid. There wasn’t a damp musty smell… I can’t explain it, maybe it’s just the way the fabric feels. It wouldn’t keep me from staying again.

Not impressed for $460 for 2 nights. Breakfast at Super 8 is more impressive than the free breakfast, pretty skimpy. No clean towels for the second morning. Had to go to the front desk to get them. Only 1 pod of caffeine free and 1 pod of regular coffee. Do they think my wife and I were going to share a cup of coffee? Had to go to the front desk for additional pods. No pods for the second morning. Room was not cleaned for the second evening. Not impressed. Probably won't stay again for the price.

Very noisy experience.

Our room was over the pool area close to the lobby. First, we had pool noise until 9:30pm, then the room next to us decided to have a family gathering on the balcony. Worst was the three young couples that were partying in the lobby until 5:00 am in the morning. I called the front desk twice to get them to shut up, but that didn’t work. I’m wondering if they even had rooms there.

Beginning nearly a week before our reservation I inquired through Expedia for a one day change due to my wife's surgery date being moved up.
No response.
I then inquired about a credit for a later date.
Still no response.

I watched the reservation page and there were always rooms available.

After the actual reservation date Expedia let me know that the Inn declined my request and I will be charged full rate for the room I didn't use.

I've never had a hotel deny a date change before.

When we do make it back to Manitowoc we won't be considering the Inn again.

I'm not as disappointed in the refusal to reschedule as I am the refusal to communicate. Poor customer service.

This is an underrated property in Manitowoc. Pros: Clean, recently remodeled rooms and free breakfast. Friendly staff and super fast check-in. Cons: Breakfast is right next to the check-in desk, so if you want to sit and eat, you have to walk all the way to the dining room on the other side of the pool and bar. Oh, and the bar is not open, nor is there any food service. Otherwise, if you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay in the downtown area, this is the place.

The hotel was ok, nothing terrible, rooms had some dust webs in the corners or the room, room was nice, kind of small. The young man working over night, was very quiet, i am alway up early so was down in the lobby early. Thought he might ask if i wanted coffee or anything, like i said was not talkative at all. The other thing that really is a disappointment in a hotel this nice, is the dress code of the employees. The young man that checked us in was jeans and t-shirt. Young man at night was sweet pants, flannel hoodie type thing and bedroom slippers. What has happened to the dress code policy in some of these places. Its not like it was a motel 6, we paid $199.00 for the night and I guess my expectations are higher for that price. Also they have a bar in this establishment and was not open on a Saturday night, that is odd. We actually were going to have a drink and then noticed it was closed. Not good for this type of place. Just very disappointing

It's always quiet, clean, the rooms are well updated and they always have reliable coffee and creamer waiting in the lobby each morning. The staff always greets you kindly. Lackluster.

It was okay, for the room cost I was expecting something a little better. I booked an accessible room and when we checked in, we were given a regular room. We went out for dinner and when we came back we couldn't get back in our room. The door latch was sticking, the front person came up and was able to get the room open, we also told him that we booked an accessible room, he did switch us, so that was nice. The breakfast was nothing special, I've had better breakfast's at Super 8's.
