The hot tub did not get hot and the lady at the desk sound it has not for a while thats nice . The toaster did not work on one side and I was told the same thing has not worked for a while maybe put a sign up would be nice . There was dried poop in the corner of the bathroom not sure are room was cleaned verry good are at all. Small 2 garbage can make it hard for 3 people wht garabage. My sister and my self went to breakfast and she put her milk in a cup and it cruled up gross was not sure but I think the date said may it expired and was there in july . We were originally scheduled to stay six nights but decided to leave after five because of several disappointing issues.
Upon entering the lobby, the overwhelming smell of chlorine from the pool is impossible to ignore. Unfortunately, the welcome from the staff was far less noticeable. I had to search for someone just to check in, and our room key stopped working twice during our stay. Both times, locating an employee for assistance was a challenge.
By the fourth day, we still had not received housekeeping service. When we asked about having our trash removed and towels replaced, we were told they had experienced a high turnover of guests and had not had time to get to our room.
One of the most concerning issues was the visible food handling practices. From the staircase, guests can see directly into the kitchen prep area. Nearly every day, food sat out on the counter beside the microwave for extended periods before being moved to the warming trays in the dining room.
Between the lack of customer service, missed housekeeping, and concerns about food handling, we chose to end our stay a day early.

The hotel was updated and clean, but our water actually shut off in the middle of taking a shower. When the front desk was contacted, they claimed it was because everyone was showering at once and to be patient. Just to clarify, the water pressure wasn’t poor. There was literally no water coming out of the shower head.

Stayed 1 night with a friend to see what Pella had to offer. The location was good though out of the downtown area. Since it was the week leading up to tulip fest we were looking for affordable. No complaints. The property was as expected—comfortable. Liked the layout of the room. I can recommend the hotel.

The property seemed overpriced for a basic hotel. It was okay, but nothing special.

At check-in, the woman at the front desk did not acknowledge me at all. She just ignored me and continued doing whatever she was doing on the computer for a full minute while I stood there waiting to check-in. Then she said to another clerk \"It's 3 o'clock, you can sign in and handle this\". I felt like a situation to be handled, not a guest. The next clerk did apologize for the wait and was friendly as she checked us in.
The next morning, the same clerk (first one) was at the desk when I checked out. As I approached the desk, she didn't greet me or even look at me. She just said \"Room number.\" I had to ask her to verify that there were no charges to the room. She didn't offer any information other than \"you'll get an email\". As someone in a hospitality industry, she could benefit from training on basic human relations.

The breakfast food was sufficient, but there were not very many tables. When we arrived, there was no place to sit.

Only problem was with the room. I had a reservation for a handicap room. When checking in I asked if I had that. They said yes. Going to the room in my opinion checking for the handicap it was not what I have ever seen. This is usually a walk in shower. Here was a tub with hand rails. I'm unable to raise me legs high enough to use this and it made me very uncomfortable. I asked the desk and this was all they had. Maybe I missed something on my reservation but this was a killer. I will not ever be back. This was totally unsafe for me to use.

We were there for a 3 day stay and when we got to the room we found a TV that didn't work and there was no hot water in the shower. After staying for 1 night and the staff doing nothing about our room issues we checked out and went to a different hotel. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Also, I thought we reserved a room with queen beds, but they were full beds. Overall a good experience and since we came after Tulip Time the price was right.

I have stayed at this hotel 2 times within the last week. They say they have gluten-free items for breakfast, but they only have oatmeal. They had a Udi's gf blueberry muffin the 1st time, but it must have stayed out too long because it was moldy. The 2nd time, they did find a muffin in the freezer so just had to microwave it to thaw it. In the past times I came, they had GF bread available.
Their pool and spa was finally open after months of maintenance / refurbishment so that we great to use the 1st time. Only 5 days later, their was a sign that the spa was down for maintenance and not available until 5pm (I had to check out at 11am).

I had my American bulldog surgery in oskaloosa ia. The next day she was bleeding from a stitch. They wasn't upset about the blood. Whatever we needed for Jasmine the staff accommodated, without hesitation. This place is definitely pet friendly. I will be back.

The best feature here was their breakfast. The waffles, eggs and meats were hot and tasty. It would have been nice if they had staff to wipe off tables when people left or at least provided water and a towel to do so ourselves as paper napkins stuck to the sticky syrup that had been spilt on the tables.

The hot tub was not usable due to some chemical imbalance.

Our bathroom had dried flakes of mud on the floor. We wiped them up with tissues but it left us wondering what was on the carpet that we couldn't see.

After requesting a quiet room we were told there may be late night noises due to the activities of some of the clientele which they had no control of. They were spot on. The first night the loud TV and the slamming of the door next to us kept us up until well after 2:00 am and that was with the room fan on high. The second night was the same.

Our former stay there was not a pleasant one but we agreed to give them another chance as in years past they were a fine place to stay and we thought and hoped, it might have just been an off few days. However, their standards are not what they once were so we will go elsewhere in the future.

We stayed during a weekend when every room was booked. We were warmly welcomed and check in was smooth. Room was clean and comfortable. We used the hot tub and pool which were relaxing. The pool room was painted with a fun mural of local interests. Breakfast was just what we needed. We enjoyed our stay. At check out, we were invited to return soon. Excellent experience.

We really like staying here! The staff are top notch: friendly, accommodating, prompt. The property is always clean. Any needs we have had were attended to quickly. Staff friendly. We paid for a suite but didn't have a couch as previously when we stayed and paid for a suite. We have sleep issues so get a suite to help with that. Plus my husband wanted to watch NCAA basketball on a couch not the bed!!!! We stayed in February and the swimming pool was closed. It still was closed. Grandkids were looking forward to swim!!!!

WOW, does not even come CLOSE!!!!!!! EXCEPTIONAL STAFF, cleanest room EVER, and QUIET QUIET QUIET!!!!!!! This place is off the beaten path, and hands down, a hidden gem!!! We travel through Oskaloosa often, and appreciate the community there. However, we will be staying here from now on!!! We visit Tassel Ridge Winery every chance we get, and enjoy a GREAT, local breakfast in Oskaloosa at Julies Cafe.

This place was a tremendous surprise. First of all the location is great: a safe, upscale neighborhood. After a long road trip, Stephen welcomed us at the front desk when we came to check in late. He was extremely helpful and kind. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. I had waffles and my son had biscuits and gravy. The decor is fresh and updated, the pool area very clean with charming murals on all of the walls. Nice hot tub. I’ve stayed in many hotels and it is hard to know by pictures and reviews sometimes, but I would not hesitate to go back to this place or recommend it to anyone else! Book here with confidence.

There was not even enough pressure to push the water up to the showerhead. We had to kneel under the faucet to try and wash the soap out of our hair. There was also paint chipping away and floors and walls with marks from years of use.

For what seems to be a recently updated hotel there seems to a lot of misses. there was no water pressure had to wait hrs before you could shower. there was long hair in scrambled eggs. tv reception was horrible even when it wasnt snowing. there was a large gap behind the heat/AC unit. my shower gel seemed to be used already, half was gone. There was unattended children running in the halls all hours of the night and in the pool area. Bed was comfy though!

At this price point I expect a clean room. The bathroom was dirty. The toilet was not clean and had urine stains around the seat. The floor in the main living space had so much dirt and dust, I'm certain it was not swept before my stay. I used baby wipes to clean before I would walk barefoot. The shower curtains were so stained and the shower had left over soap and containers from the previous occupant, I really did not want to shower in the shower.

Definitely enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean and modern, and the hotel itself was very quiet! I love that they offer continental breakfast, however their juice machine was down and that was kinda a bummer for me because there weren’t any other options besides coffee. The staff were super nice and accommodating and they were willing to share some local places to go while in town. I really wish I would’ve had time to swim because I’d definitely would’ve been in the pool.

I would totally stay here again if I’m ever in Oskaloosa. I also loved that it was secluded in a very nice neighborhood. 9.5/10

Arrived at hotel to checkin at 3pm and room wasnt ready. Went back at 5pm and was given room keys to a room that hadnt been cleaned. After much discussion someone agreed to come in an clean it while we went to our evening activity (which we changed for at the event). Arrived back at 8pm room was cleaned and all was well until we discovered the jetted tub didnt work. The following morning i asked if we could extend our stay through the Iowa game and was told since I booked through a 3rd party that wasn't possible.

We have stayed here many times in the same type of room with none of these issues but not sure we will be back after this weekend.
