Clean room. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was not much at all, basically continental. No coffee makers in room. There was no closet or rack to hang clothes on hangers. There was a hook on the wall but that is only for jackets and items like that. No elevator. The worst thing was while sitting at the table at breakfast I dropped a napkin on the floor and didn't have time to pick it up before the owner came over and picked it up off the floor and put it back in the napkin holder, I told him 2 times that it was dirty because I had used it, after I repeatedly told him it was dirty he took it out and threw it away. I am sure if an FDA inspector had seen this, he would have been cited for this.

The sheets were thread bare and scratchy. The comforter had a hole in it. The smell of the property is unpleasant. The shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The dirt streaks in the shower made you not want to touch anything. The front staff was nice. Very old hotel/motel and no updates. Probably won't stay there again.

Once checked in went to room and it reeked of smoke. Talked to older man at front desk and he became very irritated and aggressive. Asked for different room - atleast 6 rooms had not been checked in and he refused insisting this was non smoking hotel and there was no rooms available. He became angry and offered us a can of spray to mask smell. I asked for a discount and he said no and mumbled we might as well to somewhere else. Younger lady came to front, hushed him a couple of times and gave us new room. He was extremely mad. My 22 year old daughter would not go to continental breakfast both days without me because she was scared of him. Experience besides that was very pleasant. Rooms were clean - love the wood plank flooring. Beds were not made during day - towels were replaced. Surprised there was no lotion, individual hair conditioner

It has a bed and a shower, and all of it was sanitized and clean. They had a scheduled power outage for some reason the morning of our checkout, which was unpleasant as we couldnt eat breakfast and it turned off the AC. Not notified prior to checking in either. Other than that it is about as advertised.

The property was old and not terribly well maintained. The room itself was o.k., but the bathtub was discolored and stained. Front desk on Saturday and Sunday was not interested in dealing with customers at all - basically ignoring me until I requested a receipt. The advertised breakfast was sad - the food was out in the evening - and the same food was out in the morning. No amenities except for a dishwasher and dryer in the lobby area. Not at all what I had expected in a property endorsed by AAA.

Mishap & poor cleaning

I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms. The pillows were dirty, dusty, floor was not swept, hair in shower yuck! The service was good. Lighting had struck the building a few days before our stay and not all the electronics were completely fixed, which was not the hotels fault. Our TV & phone did not work. The hotel personnel came and tried to fix TV, couldn't fix so he gave us a different room. The new room was much cleaner. My sisters room was not clean. She wiped down the table tops, cleaned the bathroom counter top wiped down floor had sticky stuff on floor, towels were brown when she was done.

We stopped in Pella on our way to the Iowa Star Fair. What a lovely Dutch town. We stopped and got some goodies at one of the local bakeries. Best ever!! We went in to the fair. On our way home we decided we wanted to explore this quaint little town and I pulled up hotels. This hotel was close to college. It was very quiet in the area. The room was nice and it was really clean. We heard little noice from outside so we had a quiet night and sleep. Breakfast was a grab and go. We never saw anyone that morning that worked there! We left our key in the drop box that morning. And headed to our next stop. We would definitely stay here again. Next time on main level. Steps to second level.

The rooms and lobby have been updated, but the outside looks very run down....i was concerned when we pulled up that we were going to have to find another motel! The staff was nice. The breakfast was simple, but got the job done. Their juice machine had several offerings, but only one worked and there was no indication that this was the case. Overall, it was quiet and clean and i would consider staying there in the future.

There was no elevattor, so Ihad to carry my luggage up a flight of stairs by myself. (I'm a 71 year-old female.)

Everything was clean and in good repair.
Staff was polite and friendly.

The staff was extremely inviting. Perfect location for passing through. Great Wifi, quick breakfast (continental) and very close to a HyVee and Gas Station.

This was less than ideal. Under construction which meant no breakfast, no front desk attendant on duty (housekeeping checked us in), bath tub was gross and towels looked like they were used as grease rags….so stained.
Would not recommend anyone to stay there.

This property was under construction, with some upgrades, I presume. I know that has to be difficult while still tring to stay open. Expedi a didn’t mention this when I booked.

It was apparent that remodeling was going on, but it didn't cause any issues. The hotel was nice enough. The artwork was cool. The staff was very friendly. We would stay here again.

Good value for the price. The owners/operators were very accommodating to out need to check out late, and very nice to us. I would definitely stay there again.

The side door access was not secured so it was pointless to have a key card to get in.

The property needs some updating, the bedding and curtains were very old and outdated. Curtains were not hanging properly so hard to keep the light out. We were not informed that we would not have daily housekeeping upon arrival. The room was clean just very outdated.

I had a medical emergency, that required me to go to the emergency room. I returned to the motel, about 3:30 a.m. I asked the manager, if under the circumstances I would be allowed a later check-out, and he said NO.
I explained my situation, he said, \"cost you more.\" I thought that was unreasonable given the circumstances, and that I only wanted 1 hour. I asked him how much more, he said $25! On an $86 room, he wanted $25 for an hour, for me to get some rest and take a shower. It was explained to me that it was the policy to not have later check out time with cost. At that, I got 4 hrs sleep, no shower, and checked out at 8:30 a.m.
In the meantime, I'll tell everyone I know about my treatment, and I'll never use one of your motels again.

Outside of building could use some cleaning up. We were a little leary about staying there when we pulled up. After going in things looked cleaner and the service was great.
