Good for an overnight stop. Room was large but not cleaned to an acceptable standard. Security guards do not distinguish check-in guest form visitors, so there is a wait at the gate for entry & exit. Doors do not close shut without forcing them. Aircon needs servicing, at full cooling, managed to keep the room at 25 °C. Breakfast was good but not worth R250 as you have many better options in the area at better value.

The cultural center was a magical experience, blending tradition and tranquility. The tours were deeply informative, and the traditional dances left us mesmerized. My daughters absolutely loved it, and the hotel added to the charm. The staff was incredibly welcoming, especially Chris, who was friendly and attentive, making our stay unforgettable. I idea of this property is amazing. The staff is absolutely amazing however I did not receive a cultural experience. The experience was white washed and pitiful exploitation of the tribes represented. It was not until the dance did I feel connected to my ancestors. It was beautiful it spoke to me for me. The food was good but the same options were given for lunch and dinner, there are no near by options unless you have a vehicle.

Everything else was fine apart from the dinner buffet. It was a HUGE disappointment. Firstly the selection was very limited with only beef and lamb stew. Secondly, the food was cold cold cold, the beef was stone cold, i couldn't eat it. When we told the waitress about it she just mumbled and shrugged it off and vanished. Same as for dessert, the custard was also cold.

We were told dinner is served till 20:00 and we went to the restaurant at 18:45, so surely it couldn't've have been because were late. They just served cold food that day.

The staff adds another level of excellent customer service to the already wonderful experience. If you are in Johannesburg, it’s really hard to get anything close to the cultural experience… this place does it. I loved my stay there, loved everyone who worked there, and will definitely make staying here a regular part of my trip anytime I come to Joburg. From learning some words in Zulu to the African drumming lesson to the African dancing show… I can’t rave about it enough. Thank you for making my visit to South Africa extra special.

What can one say except “exceptional”......
everyone treated us like we were family. Warm smiles & of course big hugs. The food was plentiful, the background knowledge of each tribes history was Wow. The dance boma is something not to miss. The energy and talent is out of this world

aha Lesedi is a novelty hotel with nice traditional rooms and interesting environment.

The accommodation is in "villages" and I stayed in Zulu Room Nr 1. 2 double beds, thatched roof and nice bathroom.

The problem was noise at night which lasted until 1.30am! The thatched roof does nothing for noise insulation.

The bungalow was only several metres from a staff "village" which is interesting viewing in day light however no fun while they shout and party late into the night! Additionally staff walked around the outside of the bungalow and tapped into the bungalows hot water supply late into the night! of course i didnt mind them taking water but it was clearly audible that someone was lurking outside of our room and this happened until they went to sleep when noise stopped!

Restaurant and bar are nice however chef begrudgingly made me an omelette after he complained there were no more chopped ingredients. I asked he go cut some more which he eventually did!:(

Could have been a much more pleasant stay.

Three star comfort and five star staff

Authentic African experience. Rooms were cleverly designed but very hot in summer and with very little cooling. Air-conditioning is non-negotiable but was not present in the room. A fan was eventually provided upon request. However not a very efficient way of cooling.

Maintenance needs some attention as not all the globes were working. Carpets could also do with a good clean. No major seating inside the room which requires sitting outside in the sun or in communal restaurant areas.

Staff friendliness and willingness to assist made up for all the infrastructure shortcomings.

Definitely worth a one-night experience. Do not expect five star luxury.

We had a great stay at Lesedi. Loved the unique accommodation - we stayed in a hut in the 'Zulu Village.' There was lots of information in the tour and we expecially enjoyed the high energy dance demonstrations. The buffet dinner was also a hit. We are a family of 4 (kids 8&10)

It was amazing! The people here are so kind and helpful. We did the cultural experience where we learned about the different tribes, I cannot say it enough- the people are amazing! I’ve been to over 20 countries and no where have I found a nicer community of people. They make you feel extremely welcome! The tribal dance was amazing and at the end you get to join in, I felt right at home. One tip- One person with our group was actually throwing money at the dancers- which was obviously extremely rude and offensive- so it should go without saying, but don’t do this! Support them by purchasing a CD at the end of the tour! These people are so amazing and kind! Definitely wish I got to spend more time there

I have stayed before at Lesedi before in 2012, and it was great. That's why I recommend to our family friends to join us last year and go with us, and what a disappointment. Reception, front desk lady was so unfriendly and failed to give us information that we asked for e.g we asked about the Free wifi and she did not respond. The guys who took us to our room were very assist full and friendly. The breakfast, burned bacon, with a very talkative and very chef, who was doing eggs. U could hear him from outside the restaurant. Inside the room,in the bathroom I sow cigarette ash. I just decided never to go there again,i was disappointed.

Tour and dance well worth seeing. Nice to stay over for 1 night to get feel of the culture. Would be nicer with more guests as felt a bit insecure as a women on own in room as open area & no visible security around.

I really found this place to be a great experience. We now have wonderful photographs and memories from our one night. The village tribe members worked very hard to make sure we enjoyed our stay and the show that we purchased for the evening. Where else can you stay in a Zulu hut with amenities and get your bags brought to the room by men wearing animal furs and tribal custom. These workers are from authentic villages around South Africa and if you think its tourist trap well I'm sorry but they are actually working for money to buy cows for dowry so they can get married and other true stories. The food for both breakfast and dinner was very good.

The Real African experience.

We were greeted by the two ladies at reception and they were so helpful! It was so hot when we arrived and we were able to keep cool in the room (hut) but we would have appreciated a fan. Thoroughly enjoyed being out in the bush surrounded by the lovely mountains! I would most definitely come again and stay for longer next time.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the tour, dance and the histories that were told and learned so much. the thatch houses were beautiful on the inside, what you will not expect when you are outside. The only things missing in the rooms were the microwave and the bar fridge and the bible. Also room phones, how do I get reception/help if I need it in the middle of the night? But overall I truly enjoyed my stay, the food was delicious and my kids were very excited

unique experience, stayed in a Zulu hut

our Zulu hut had every convenience, very clean, with all mod cons. Learnt about Zulu, Pedi, Xhosa and Sotho culture.
good location for exploring the surrounding area. Several activities, including a show with traditional dancing. Staff all very willing and sociable.

Friendly interesting experience

Several small "villages" built in different styles (Zulu, Xhosa, etc) I stayed in a Zulu hut. Interesting and a bit different. Comfortably furnished with an ensuite bathroom - neither room huge but big enough to be ample for two people. Nice to be able to see the wicker construction work under the thatched roof.
They do a tour round the various villages explaining the different tribal cultures and then a dance show with the various dances (a lot seem very similar).
All in all a bargain at the price.

This was our first night in Africa after a long journey. We were in a Zulu style room that was warm and welcoming. The resort was very quiet in early winter, yet the staff went out of their way to be helpful. The food was traditional and plentiful.

A reserva não estava marcada no sistema deles. Por sorte havia um quarto similar vago. Chegando lá a chave não abria, e tiveram que chamar a assistência técnica. No fim tivemos que trocar o quarto, mas tudo de forma meio caótica e desorganizada. Por outro lado as pessoas estavam tentando ajudar. O quarto era bom, confortável mas o arcond é totalmente subdimensionado e estava quente. Era bem escuro. O banho é ótimo.
