Stayed in a spacious and quiet room on 7th floor. Hotel is around a 30 minute walk from the old town/coast. Had to request more tea/coffee from reception during my stay, as it was not replenished automatically, but once I asked it arrived within 10 minutes.

Basic hotel about 45 minutes walk from the historic centre. Hotel was clean and rooms were comfortable. Good Wifi access. Breakfast nothing fancy and not a particularly great choice but adequate. Couple of local bars nearby and two supermarkets. Easy access to the trail to Ponte Del Diablo.

This is a pet friendly hotel and that is why we chose it. They charge an extra €15 for that but we had to sign a form saying we would not leave him alone in room - not a problem but for breakfast our little dog not allowed in cafeteria so we had to eat outside next to busy roundabout in February. It was cold. Couldn't leave dog in car as parking in underground car park. This extra cost €11.50 too. No other option as parking in street all full. So expensive one night stay. Charged us an extra €27 so beware. No good restaurants near either only coffee bars.

During this time of the year the hotel still keeps the HVAC system in heating mode or Off.The temperature inside the room became uncomfortable and their suggestion is to open the windows which is relatively unsafe(if your room is I the lower floor). They better change an extra charge and let the guests to use the AC if that’s what they want.
The rooms don’t have a iron table and when I needed to use the iron I had to use the bed as an iron table which is very unsafe. This is very easy to fix and will be of much help for business travelers

Not noticed until late at night and so 2 adults slept in one single bed. This bed also rocked from corner to corner. No discount offered and should have had this room FOC

Basic hotel, I was expecting more based on pictures and other people's comments. The bed was a tad uncomfortable. The furniture in the room was a bit tatty and mismatched. There was no working air conditioning and the shower didn't work well. Attention to detail with cleaning could have been better - mouldnin the shower and inside the sofa/chair was really dirty.

Oasis in a very difficult time.

Our friends, David and Sheila, booked your hotel due to its close proximity to the Joan XXIII hospital as my husband had heart issues while we were on holiday in Salou and we wanted to stay close by. Your staff with special mention to Raphael, were empathetic, knowledgable, and very professional. A stay in Tarragona

We used Tarragona as a base to travel up and down the coast, the bus station is a 15min walk away from the hotel which is good but although the hotel was good for the price if you want to see Tarragona ie Roman Ruins and the old town this hotel is in the opposite direction from those areas good if you like to have a good walk but not so great if your not able to do so. The area of the hotel is nice and new(ish) handy if you want to access the A and H roads by car BUT for restaurants/bars etc you need to walk up the Rambla a good 30 mins our few niggles were that the hotel was very warm all times (we had to sleep with the window open) our room aircon just belted out warm air it was in Jan but it was just to warm for us and the lack of English speaking programmes on the hotel room t.v (we normally never watch t.v while away but this was a very busy \"day\" break for us and at times we just wanted to go back to our room to relax and watch t.v) other than that the staff were very nice, the hotel clean, basic but it is an express hotel. Breakfast was buffet and although a small selection it was fresh.

Pleasant hotel at affordable price. Front-desk helpful. Restaurants, bakery, gelata store nearby. Within walking distance (~20 minutes) of Balcony of Mediterranean and the seafront but very pleasant walk down the Rambla Nova. If you'r here to see the Roman ruins plan on 2 days.

Not central but good value

I stayed at SB Express for a week while at a conference at the University. It was very comfortable and, while not central, was a short walk to the old town and moderate walk to the beach. The inhouse restaurant did not have a great variety, wasn't cheap and kept limited hours so I found I had to go into central Tarragona for meals. There was, however, a supermarket quite close so you can eat cheaply by buying some supplies from there.

Good for the price

Hotel was a good place for the price paid. Wifi is NOT really reliable in ALL parts of the hotel, including the room. When we asked the front desk about it, they basically said 'tough'. Funny, as they really tout this free Wifi bit, yet it's shotty service. For the money spent, it was fine. It's about a mile walk to anything cool in the way of the 'old village' and REAL places to eat.

Very comfortable and clean room. We had one double bed for mom and dad, and 2 singles, one for each kid. Reasonably priced in summer since it is not in prime tourist area. But great place to experience how normal day to day life in Spain is. Plenty of restaurants, a grocery store, Roman ruins, beach all within walking distance (or reasonably price cabs) And 10 min cab ride to PortAventura and Salou beach area.

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay there. I had a jet-lag and woke up at 5am. When I opened the contain of the window, the neon of the giant monument in front of the Hotel were lighted up so beautifully and I felt like I was still in my dream.

A good choice for Tarragon

The room was clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint is the lack of a minibar in the room and that the internet was not particularly reliable during my stay. Otherwise a great hotel and a nice neighborhood and convenient location in Tarragona.

Pleasant hotel while visiting Tarragona

It was a very nice hotel. The location wasn´t as convenient as it could have been as it was far from the old city and the main attractions. Also, for us it was a 10 to 15 minute walk from the bus station. There was a city bus stop very close by. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was a cold buffet but very nice.

Great bargain a bit outside of the city.

My girlfriend and I came to Tarragona for a 4 night stay, just to relax, see the ancient sites, eat local food and drink local wine. We're both students, so renting a car or paying for long taxi trips was not an option. Arriving to the hotel was easy, as the BCN-Tarragona shuttlebus dropped us off a 10 minute walk away from the hotel. The hotel itself did not offer many services, but we had everything we needed including free wifi and breakfast downstairs. The room was much larger than we expected and very clean and comfortable. Getting into town required something of a walk (15 minutes to the center of town, 30 minutes to the seawall), but the hotel is right next to a stop for several public transit bus lines, which dropped us off in the old town in about 10 minutes, and in the center of town in less than 5. The neighborhood itself is quiet at night but still boasts a few restaurants and bars if you don't feel like traveling all the way out to downtown. Definitely would recommend this place.

Lovley hotel, friendly staff,

Lovley hotel, friendly staff, quite far from the train station but there is a bus that runs from the train station and stops right outside the hotel. Lovely big room, the hotel is situated at the far end of the main street in Tarragona, its a lovely walk from the train station once you have no bags!!!
One really good feature in the room is that the air con automatically switches off once you open the windows!

I enjoyed my stay at SB Express. The room was wonderful--larger and nicer than I expected and had a nice view of the Plaça. My one complaint about the amenities is about the internet--it didn't work my first day then was extremely slow and the hotel's firewall blocked everything except web browsing. Being on the opposite end of town from the train station, the Palau de Congressos, and most of the restaurants, the location wasn't ideal for me. The desk staff was helpful--especially those during the days. (The cafe/restaurant staff seemed to go out of their way to not be helpful to me, however.)
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if you want to be on the NW side of Tarragona or if the lower price makes up for the longer walks.

Excellent Hotel in Tarragona

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel.
The room was unusually large and the bed was comfortable.
There is a very nice bar/restaurant in the hotel.
Very convenient to the autopista exit and a straight shot to downtown Tarragona with a bus stop right across the street.
I had a rental car, and at times had difficulty locating a parking spot however there is a parking garage available at extra expense which I opted not to pay as I thought it was too high.
The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke fairly good English.
They have free wifi for high speed internet connection but I could not make it work with my netbook though it said I had a strong signal. The staff even loaned me an ethernet cord for a direct plug in, but I still could not make it work.
Probably some process I wasn't aware of needed to be performed!
Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel and the price was right.
The hotel offers breakfast with the room but the price for that is also very high. You can have a very reasonably priced a la carte breakfast in the hotel cafe.

O quarto é amplo, banheiro também, só não gostei muito que entre a área do banho (que é dentro de uma banheira) e o resto do banheiro não tem cortina, e na hora do banho se não tomar cuidado vai cair muita água para fora, molhando parte do banheiro. No quarto tem secador de cabelo e cafeteira, nao tem frigobar ou outras amenidades. No quarto possui também cofre. As camas são boas e a roupa de cama muito boa, toalhas de banho de ótima qualidade. Os travesseiros são muito bons. Isolamento acústico muito bom também. O chuveiro dá para tomar um banho relaxante, no andar que fiquei (oitavo) tinha muita pressão na água, achamos bem gostoso. O café da manhã , pago a parte, é bem básico. A localização do hotel é razoavel, não fica muito longe do centro histórico, cerca de 10 minutos de carro. O hotel disponibiliza estacionamento a 15 euros por dia, porém nas proximidades tem muitas vagas de estacionar (na rua e com parquímetro) a vantagem é que só existe cobrança nos seguintes horários (09:00 as 14:00 e 16:00 as 20:00 hs) fora desses horários pode estacionar sem pagamento, existe gratuidade nesses períodos, se você for ficar fora nesses horários o carro pode ficar na rua sem qualquer pagamento. Wi-Fi razoável (não é dos piores).
