The camp is great! Staff is excellent and ready to take care of any need. The tent we stayed in may be looking a little old but everything works. As promised, you park your car and they come and get you for a short drive through desert sands. Once there you a can walk to some amazing sites just outside the gate. Then ride camels and/or hire a jeep to tour the Wadi Rum reserve. An amazing trip!
At the camp while the evenings cooled off we sat around a camp fire watching the bright stars above and watched the moon climb over the rock walls.
If we get to go a next time, we’ll go when the weather is cooler, 97F seems even hotter in the desert.

Ahmad, the camp manager, was amazing. Truly, this camp was everything you wanted and more. The chef was the highlight of the camp—the food was super tasty. The staff were very kind and friendly. Our interactions with everyone exceeded our expectations. We booked two activities through the camp and we were very pleased. Thank you, Ahmad and everyone for making our trip memorable.

Good things: Dinner, camp fire, shisha (limited flavours but great), staff are very nice to talk to, great complimentary tea in the evening.
Not so great things: breakfast was poor, nobody really welcomes you and flies were flying across all the food items. They also charge for water, and drinks (soft, even water) isn't included in dinner, so if you want any drink with dinner you'll have to pay. The music was playing way too loud into the night, eventually they turned it off as it got too late.

Overall: good stay, could have been better for what we paid. £120 for a room.

Pro tip: bring a foot towel to dry off your sandy feet before getting into bed, as it's a campsite you'll have sandy shoes heading into the bedroom.

Upon check-in the manager was nice and accommodating. After convincing him that we did not want a desert safari/camel ride, we were able to relax during the afternoon - the day before we had walked all of Petra except the steps up to the monastery and so were quite tired after the drive down to Wadi Rum. The manager also provided tea and water after our rest period which was very refreshing.

Evening dinner & breakfast well done

The cabin/tent was clean but seemed a bit rough around the edges for being updated in 2018. For example, the private shower should have had two glass doors that slid together to fully enclose the shower - one was completely missing allowing water to spray all over the floor.

Inside the camp area, was kept well groomed and fresh-looking making being out and about within the camp a great experience.

In the evening as I climbed the steps to a platform on a dune adjacent to the camp to view the valley floor and sunset, I noticed quite a bit of litter against and close to the steps. As I walked down the dune toward the entrance to the camp, I noticed even more litter and other debris.

The following morning I went out through the camp entrance to take sunrise pictures of the wadi floor and saw even more litter that had not been there the night before. Apparently, other camp guests had been out in the area the night before and not picked up after themselves.

All this, spoils what would otherwise be an exciting and remarkable setting.

There are many camps in Wadi Rum but none have the charm that Rahayeb does. The location of this camp is 2nd to none. Excellent dunes, rock tracks, and mountains to climb. Food was good and staff was great. I went in Covid times so amenities were scarce due to restrictions; however, the camp did not stop us from making our own fun and encouraged it. I recommend this place.

The camp is a bit hidden in between the rocks so it’s very well protected from the wind and sand. The people are very friendly and helpful. The room has all the basics as shown on the picture, neat and clean. The excursion was fun and amazing. The food is delicious and I had probably the best meal there in Jordan.

Fantastic property!

This place was fantastic! The manager was there when I checked in, and upgraded my tent, free of charge, because I work in the United Arab Emirates. The place was a bit hard to find at night off the road, but someone was there right away to guide me up to the camp. Food was delicious, and it had a very family feel to it. Would definitely stay there again.

athe staff were excellent very helpful and friendly. on our way to the camp we had a car rental and we got stacked at the sand. we call the camp and they came for a rescue.

the prooerty is great. the aircon was strong which is realky needed in the desert. water is also excellent the water pressure was great better than compare to a hotel in the city.

I go on a wadi rum trip every year and i have gone to many camps, however Rahayeb dessert camp is the most impressive one in my whole experience. It's like 5 star hotel in the middle of the desert, their food, tents, bathrooms, and everything in between is high quality taste. I will come back everytime I decide to enjoy the sleepover in the dessert.

I really liked the hotel, it was very well located and it was pretty luxurious for staying in a tent (I stayed in the Deluxe one). Dinner was delicious, breakfast was ok. They didn't provide anything to drink so you had to buy everything in their cafeteria. Tours were expensive and I found a bug in my room, but I guess we were in the middle of Wadi Rum...
It was a little bit hard to communicate with the personnel because their english was not too good. They confused our rooms at the beginning and it took a while to arrange everything. Finally, credit card service didn't work.

We stayed for two nights which I think is ideal.
Transfer from the parking area is in the ubiquitous Toyota Hi Lux and you can ride inside or out.
Check in was no problem and involved some pretty gentle up selling of trips. Despite emailing to check they really didn't want to take credit cards.
The camp is in a great setting bounded on 2 sides by rock cliffs and on the third by a sand dune. It has outside and inside seating areas which get an open fire and music in the evenings.
The tents were better than expected with modern air con and heating together with a bathroom, lights and a socket.
We declined any camel rides as this is not a pleasant way to travel as we know from experience.
The sunset trip is pleasant but the spot itself gets crowded.
We took the 4 hour jeep trip. We definitely got our 4 hours. It takes in the key sites but throughout the 360 degree views are truly stunning.
Dinner was spectacular, chicken and lamb cooked in a pit, with a great selection of hot and cold sides. It was the same both nights. No drinks are included and there is no potable water there so bring plenty, a purifier or buy from the basic but reasonably priced kiosk that also does coffee tea and some soft drinks.
Breakfast is disappointing after dinner but adequate. No fresh fruit only cucumber and beans. No way to warm bread or make toast.
Overall a great experience.

Great choice if you are doing an overnight stay in Wadi Rum. Food was great and the people were very welcoming. We had a 2 bedroom tent with private bathroom. Ended up using the shared bathroom facilities just for ease and they were very clean and well maintained. Did the Jeep tour which is definitely a must.

Wow! What an amazing place, nestled among towering rock mountains, clean and surprisingly intent like experience in a tent😃 great WiFi! Shower and comfortable beds. We loved it. Rahayeb Desert Camp

Our stay at Rahayeb Desert Camp was good overall. The facilities were good, particularly the shared bathroom were it was modern, clean and a lot of space. The aesthetics and layout of the camp was nice and offered a number of separate spaces. The rooms got a little cold at night with no heating so be prepared to bring extra layers with you. Power shuts off at 9:30pm but there is a charged light in each room. Take advantage of the Jeep tour as it really highlights the vastness of Wadi Rum and if you can time it for sunset.

Oasis in the Desert.

Amazing. The hotel was well equipped, there were even mini air conditioners in the common areas. The buffet was delicious, and the tents were spacious, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

My wife and I had a lovely stay. Food was great, and the camp was clean. We had a one hour sunset safari, organized by the camp, which was amazing (We did not feel rushed by the driver). By contrast, the independent driver who transported us from Petra to Wadi Rum (Raeb), charged us 40 JOD extra for a 3 hour desert safari, which only lasted an hour and 45 minutes, with very little or no opportunity to take photos at various points. We are pleased to have had the additional sunset safari, organized by the camp, and regret that we did not have their 3 hour one. We would definitely visit again in the future.

Loved this dessert camp, the facilities are lovely and well managed. It is a very relaxing and a beautiful little spot. Bathroom facilities were very clean and the bedrooms were simple but comfortable. I would encourage that you do dinner with the camp at least once with your stay, it costs extra but well worth it.

Keep looking to stay in desert

When we finally found the camp, we were given a tent that I was positive wasn’t what I had booked on hotels.com. After much protest, we were given a different tent but it looked exactly like the one we refused but in a different location. It was getting late and I didn’t want to continue to be frustrated. We went to relax and watch the nights sky. When I checked our booking, I realized that I had paid $125 and the tent we received was only a $75 room! I’ll be calling to complain when back home.

If you decide to book this place, don’t plan on taking a shower in the morning. They turn off all the electricity in the camp at 9 PM so you won’t ave hot water in the morning. Only one plug in each tent to charge your phones, etc.

Dinner was ok. Breakfast was ok. We did not do any of the many offered camel rides, 4X4 drives in the desert, etc. we were so uncomfortable that we left just after breakfast and should have skipped that.

There are much different camping experiences in the desert. I had thought that this was going to be nicer and it really wasn’t. Uncomfortable beds, etc. keep looking as a stay in the desert is enjoyable at the right place. We had a lovely stay in Morocco and had hoped to match that experience.

My friend and I are suffering from really bad diarrhoea after the dinner at Rahayeb Desert Camp two days ago. It has been nearly 48 hours, I am unable to eat anything, and I am just going to toilet 6-7 times a day, having a fever. I have taken medicine but non of them worked. The food hygiene really needs to be checked there!

Wadi Rum Desert night

It is an experience to spend a night in this desert camp. The preparation of the Mansaf, the traditionnel slow cooking bedouin meal was quite an experience to film. The camp provides shuttle between the parking and the site accessible only by 4×4. Camp well situated near a red sand dune.

Desert solitude.

If you want to spend time at an isolated desert location that offers fantastic scenery and World War I history (Lawrence of Arabia operated in this area against Ottoman forces), then this is the place for you. Rustic but comfortable in Bedouin-style tents. Simple food. Lots of silence, especially at night.

An excellent one night stay. We were in the tent with the en suite bathroom which was very neat and clean. I had a look at the shared bathrooms too and they too were immaculate and being cleaned regularly.

The whole set up is very nice and the staff are very decent too. The dinner they served was cooked extremely well! Breakfast was very nice too.

We did a private 2 hr tour of Wadi Rum from another guide (who was excellent by the way) as the camp's prices were slightly expensive in comparison.

Overall, a very pleasant stay here. Highly recommend.

Hidden gem

Contrary to many other camps, Rahayeb desert camp is located inside the Wadi Rum desert, and gives you the real feeling of living in a red sand camp.

The room we rented - mini suite - was clean and very cool. Actually cleaner than the Hilton hotel we stayed at near the dead sea afterwards.

The food is well prepared and tasty. They make most of it on location through a traditional slow cooking process where they place the food under the sand. This process is made into a show and 15 minutes later you can actually taste the food they bring up from the ground!

The camp offers camel and jeep tours. They have evening shows with music and dance.
The atmosphere, the music, the food, the activities and the staff - everything is amazing and Rahayeb is highly recommended.
