My husband and I had the most wonderful stay at the Youngtown Inn! Our room was immaculately clean and incredibly cozy. We loved having Aster & Rose right onsite. Chef Michael served a fantastic breakfast each morning, and the beautiful bar was the perfect spot for evening drinks. We can’t wait to return!

Look no further and stay at this beautiful B&B! I genuinely looked forward to breakfast every single morning because it was that incredible. The host made our stay so pleasant, truly one of the nicest people we’ve ever met. The location is fantastic, just a short drive to several charming towns that are absolutely worth visiting. I even made the drive to Acadia, just note that it’s a little over an hour away, which my husband and I didn’t mind at all. Thank you so much for everything!

We were able to stay here for 4 nights. The inn is absolutely beautiful, and accommodations were greatThe breakfast was first rate every morning, and we had dinner at Aster & Rose twice (part of the inn). Best meals we had. Also if gluten-free is a concern, my wife was 100% well accommodated in this area.
But the best thing wasn’t the inn, the bed or the food, but the people. Michael, Karrie and their staff made us feel so welcome. Our server for dinner both nights was Mary who was wonderful. When you have an opportunity to get away and people make you feel so at home; well there is where peace is found.

Had an enjoyable long weekend stay in Lincolnville. The owner/host was helpful in all respects. The property was quintessential new England bed and breakfast complete with amazing breakfast and slightly squeaky stairs.

This is a great option for those looking for good food, relaxation and a comfortable, quiet nights sleep.

Our room was perfect! It was well decorated and laid out and very clean. The AC was an added touch during the hot weather. The only thing is, no one came to clean our room in three days or change our towels. We survived, but then I realized I may have needed to flip the card over that said \"Please Do Not Disturb\" because on the other side it said something out cleaning our room. Maybe put this in your Welcome Note! Our second night we had dinner at the on-site restaurant and the food was to \"die for!\" The Focaccia Bread was delicious with the Ricotta/Paprika spread and the Pork Shoulder and Fetticinni Bolognese were fabulous. We had the Rhubarb Cake for dessert and the homemade ice cream was lovely. Breakfast was OK! The coffee cups either need a saucer or use the mugs you put out for the Keurig! Finally, because the fry pan or oil was off, the English Muffins and the Blueberry Pancakes had an odd oil taste. Otherwise, the pancakes were perfectly round and would have been amazing if not for the bad oil. The starter fruit cup was very nice though. Overall, a wonderful stay with this amazing restaurant and chef being an added bonus! We hope to come back in the future and possibly with friends. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Wonderful hosts and staff. 5star. The innkeepers have made great improvements in their first year. Interior warm and welcoming. Freshly painted, new mattresses and linens, very clean. Breakfast and dinners were exceptional! So nice after a day of touring to have a beautiful dinner and relaxing ambiance. The dining area was delightful. Coffee bar and guest frig very nice.
The exterior was in need of refurbish and repair, but in no way detracted from a wonderful stay! Thank you Michael and Cari! ❤️

Great place to stay near Camden ME. Short drive into town, and it’s also near lots of hiking and other day trip options. Room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious—started with choice of fruit or yogurt, then followed by a hot main (which was different every morning of our trip). The owners are super friendly and helpful.

Had a wonderful stay here! Room was very quaint and well decorated. Comfy bed and bedding. The living room “commons” area was very comfortable and enjoyed sitting there and playing board game. Also had nice amenities of coffee bar, little fridge, etc.
The owners, Michael and Kerri, were wonderful hosts! Made us feel like family! And the breakfasts were fabulous! Delicious food, and wonderful dining area with linen tablecloths, cozy seating, etc.

It is a very old building without central air conditioning. The 3rd floor rooms are hard to keep cool in a hot summer sun with the window ac units. Aside from that the staff is very friendly and offered responsive service. The included breakfast was wonderful and qualifies as fine dining. FYI, ownership is changing in September 2021 and this review will not be useful.

The Inn is charming and the food is exquisite. Mary Ann is so welcoming and full of local knowledge. Manuel is a fabulous French chef. He prepared us a different breakfast each day that was always worthy of 5 stars. We had dinner there one night with a packed house. Perfectly prepared halibut and the best blueberry pie we had ever had. The Inn is perfectly located for exploring the greater Camden Coast from Port Clyde to Bar Harbor and yet it is located in the quiet of the lush country. My husband and I both highly recommend the Youngtown Inn and Restaurant.

The soaker tub was nonexistent, the fireplace was a tiny stove and the private balcony was a metal juliette balcony that was right above another room’s deck.

We were in the area for a dog show. We stayed 2 nights. The breakfasts were amazing, the coffee was so good. There was terrific water pressure and hot water for a long, hot soak or shower after a tiring day. The hosts knew of all the \"happenings\" and guided us appropriately to food, events, and nature. There was so much to do in the area. I'd stay again and longer!

Didn't know anything about this area and chose to stay here as there was space for our whole family (couple and 2 boys), it turned out to be one of the best parts of our vacation. A historic 1810 restored house, it looks more of a romantic/fancier place to stay, but the owners made us feel completely at home and were extremely helpful in giving us local advice about things to do that our kids would enjoy. I would recommend eating dinner here as well, the chef is French and the food is incredible. Breakfast is just right with a beautiful presentation next to sunny windows, also homemade and delicious. All rooms have access to a pleasant living room upstairs with coffee, cards and couches, as well as a roof deck with chairs and tables, so there is plenty of space to hang out. Glad I found this place which felt more like staying in a home than an inn. Next time however I would book them direct rather than 3rd party as hotels.com takes a very large percentage of the commission.

We vacation in Maine every year. This was our first time staying at Youngtown Inn. It will not be the last. Everything is first class. The hosts are gracious. The accommodations are very good. And, last but not least, Manuel is an outstanding chef. The morning breakfast was special. Since it is an Inn, many come for dinner who are not staying at the Inn. I will say that we had dinner on two nights and both were outstanding. If you want to stay in a first class Inn, with a first class restaurant, do not miss this Inn.

A terrific Maine get-a-way!

My wife and I recently spent three wonderful days at the Youngtown Inn while exploring the Penobscot Bay area of Maine! It was our first stay and I sincerely hope we will be able to return in the future. The Merciers are wonderful hosts, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the accommodations and dining are superb!

We stayed at the Youngtown Inn September 14-18. It is a lovely Inn owned and operated by MaryAnn and Manuel. They are friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The Inn is well situated and is an easy drive to Camden, Belfast and Rockland. It is about a 90 minute drive to Acadia National Park. A lovely winery is just down Youngtown Road from the Inn. The dining at the Inn is outstanding in every way. We cannot recommend more highly Youngtown Inn. We look forward to a return visit.

Truly, the Merciers have perfected the art of being innkeepers. They are accommodating, knowledgeable about the environs, and have a light touch with guests. The rooms are comfortable, not luxurious, but quite good enough for a decent nights sleep. And then there's the food. Breakfast comes with the stay, and it's generous: very fresh fruit, imaginative twists on standard fares, and just delicious. They serve dinners here too, and you should eat dinner here at least once, it's amongst the best in the Camden region, and that's saying something. Look to spend about $200 to do it right, knowing that you won't be disappointed in the quality, presentation, or flavor. Chef Mercier, I believe, is quite demanding of his purveyors, and it pays off in the dishes to come out of his kitchen. Engjoy your stay!

My husband and have traveled all over the world but the Youngtown Inn has always been our favorite. I have spent my birthday here for 20 years. and I can't imagine having my birthday dinner anywhere else. The restaurant is well known for the French cuisine. Each guest room is very comfortable

Wonderful return trip to Youngtown Inn

My husband and I discovered Youngtown Inn last summer, and eagerly returned for another two night stay recently. This is a beautiful old inn in a lovely location, but the hosts are what make it really special. Maryann is warm and helpful and Manuel is a fantastic cook. In addition to the outstanding breakfasts, you can enjoy a first class French dinner then drift upstairs to bed. We look forward to our next visit.

Perfect for a nice and relaxing time ...

This was a gem of a place - run by a very nice couple. Comfortable and clean accomodations, perfect for a quiet and relaxing getaway. The weather was perfect and we took advantage of the attached balconies for relaxing in the morning sun or in the afternoon shade. The breakfast was delicious and prepared with great care - got us started us perfectly each day. We had dinner during one of the evenings at the Inn for an exquisite meal - we would highly recommend it. We do alot of US and international travelling, and we are quite picky with our accomodations - and we would not hesitate to recoomend Youngtown Inn & Restaurant with confidence.

Delightful family weekend in picture perfect bed and breakfast

This was my first bed and breakfast experience and it was wonderful! My brother and I and our spouses brought my elderly parents for a beautiful weekend in their favorite area in Maine. Maryanne was such a gracious hostess, just spoiled everyone especially my dad who has gotten a bit fussy lately!The food was wonderful, we could hardly wait to see what Chef Manuel Mercier had prepared each day. The onsite restaurant is intimate and elegant with great French menu with a local flair. Location is great- right between Camden and Belfast with good hikes available close by. I would happily recommend this lovely rustic Inn to anyone!

The Best in Mid-Coast Maine

My wife and I stayed at the Inn for the second time this June (2017). It was like coming home again: Manuel and Maryann were so welcoming and friendly. The rooms were clean, bright, and quiet. We enjoyed all the surrounding area: a day trip to Isleborough on the ferry; a quiet aperitif on the back porch of the Cellar Door winery; the view from Mount Battie; shopping at Maine Artisans at Lincolnville Beach; an ice cream cone at the footbridge in Camden...



The food at Youngtown Inn's restaurant was great. A blueberry breakfast pan-cake on the porch; escargots, sesame tuna, and lamb for dinner. And please order the Grand Marnier soufflé.

A Maine treasure!!

Stayed at Youngtown Inn in late May. A lovely country inn with warm, immaculate rooms and welcoming, helpfully engaging owners. The food both breakfast and dinner was nothing short of spectacular. Mr. Mercier is a true chef and the menu is first class with attention to every detail...excellent (my mouth is watering as I remember and type this!) I especially loved the rack of lamb, the beet and goat cheese salad and the incredible grande marnier soufflee! The full breakfasts were equally wonderful. Did I mention the surroundings? Can't beat the beauty of Maine all around...from shoreline to mountain within reach.

Our children had given us a gift certificate to the Youngstown Inn for Christmas. What a treat that was! We had a very comfortable clean and relaxing room.. we made reservations for the Saturday night dinner.. oh my.. the service was great, the food was outstanding.My husband and I both had the asparagus soup. I had the evening special, seafood linguini and my husband the steak both were perfection.. our breakfast the next morning was just as perfect.. both chef and wife were friendly and welcoming.. definitely worth a visit!

Dinner was fantastic. Great wine list, which Manuel helped us with. Breakfast was perfect. Maryann went out of her way to please us, even gave us a ride to and from the vineyard.

Best Stay Ever!!

My husband and I were looking forward to our return trip to the Youngtown Inn and our beloved Maine. As always the room was beautiful and it felt very private. ManyAnn and Manuel were as gracious and MaryAnn even had my favorite flowers in the room upon our arrival. Our breakfasts were over the top and our dinner was top star!! We cannot wait for our visit next year!!!

Charming & Quiet

Our stay at Youngtown Inn was restful and quiet, yet we were minutes from shops, restaurants and breath-taking views of the Maine coast. We were well taken care of and had plenty of privacy. The breakfasts were delicious and so beautifully presented. Our room was clean and tastefully decorated with a balcony overlooking the countryside, which reminded us a bit of the south of France.

Wonderful birthday celebration

We two couples had a spur of the moment overnight stay at this place where we have loved to eat for many years, to celebrate the birthday of one of us. It was great fun, we had both rooms on the top floor. Came down for champagne on the deck before dinner, then had a marvelous celebratory meal in the dining room. Next morning a most special breakfast, very liesurely, enjoying coffee tea and fruit before yummy French toast with fresh blueberries. Service warm and wonderful as always. We look forward to coming back soon. Thank you Maryann and Manuel !!!

Lovely B&B with gourmet dining

My husband and I (and our two tiny dogs) stayed at this lovely B&B for two nights in August, which is the perfect time of year to visit Maine. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and the owner, Maryanne, even carried my luggage upstairs to our room. We stayed in the beautiful pet friendly suite, which was perfectly appointed and quite comfortable. We enjoyed a gourmet breakfast both mornings, and our only disappointment is that we didn't get a chance to have dinner at the inn's restaurant, which has received rave reviews. The hospitality was warm, friendly and generous, and we hope to be able to return for another visit one day!

really off the beaten path

The hotel is nice but a much older building. It was impossible to walk upstairs to my room with heels on given very old thin stairs. Instead I opted to walk the outside stairs each time. The room was nicely furnished but lack of cell reception was disappointing. WIFI worked well. While there is a restaurant it is only open from 6-8 and the bar is a just a room with glasses and liquor nothing you would want to relax with a pint in. I think I was the only guest for most of my 4 day stay. Next time I would recommend any one of the many hotels and inns nearby with water view and closer to Rockport.

A special inn and restaurant

The restaurant at the inn is first class. It is like dining in the heart of the Laurentians or Provence with great ambience wonderful food cooked to perfection. The owners and staff are very nice people and provide excellent service. They make everyone welcome and comfortable. This inn and restaurant is a gem.

What a jewel ... loved every minute of it

We booked a stay at the Youngtown in while attending a wedding in the area, and as guesthouse owners ourselves we were impressed with the friendliness of the proprietors in making our stay immensely enjoyable, the ambience of the property which was originally built in 1810, and the magnificent quality of the food. While we weren't able to partake in their dinner menu (which looked amazing!), their breakfast display was beautiful and delicious and we were very, very pleased with everything.

Wonderful experience

My husband and I loved our stay at the Youngtown Inn and Restaurant. The inn has a lovely French feel. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the pretty countryside. The inn is in a great location, just a few miles out of Camden. The owners, MaryAnn and Manuel couldn't have been more helpful. After a sumptuous breakfast they gave us all sorts of options for our day's travels. Perhaps the best part of our stay was the amazing dinner. The highly acclaimed restaurant lived up to all of our expectations. The menu was French farm to table. All ingredients were locally sourced and our dinner was well priced. We cannot wait to return.

Warm and authentic

Mary Ann and Manuel were lovely! We received a warm welcome when we arrived. Mary Ann gave us a map of the area at breakfast to help us find rental properties in the lakes area - she was incredibly helpful and delightful. Manuel's talent in the kitchen is unbelievable - best authentic French meal I've ever had. We plan to return next summer and stay a few more days!

WHAT A PEACEFUL MOUNTAINSIDE

and the Youngtown Inn is EXCELLENT across the board. The decor and ambiance is down-home Maine. My wife and I were there for 4-nights our 35th anniversary... Sleeping with the windows and the door to the private veranda open was a special treat. The Food is incredible. We did not have dinner there because of other commitments we had made, but the breakfasts were certainly fit for a king!

Great Inn with a French chef

Our stay at the Youngtown Inn with several friends was very enjoyable. Our group rented all 4 rooms on the 2nd floor, and the large parlor on that floor made it easy for us to get together and enjoy the provided coffee/tea and homemade warm cookies each afternoon. There is also an outdoor portico seating area off the parlor. We also enjoyed the small bar on the main level. The Inn is close to many activities. Its a very short drive to the Camden town area with lots of shops and restaurants. A winery is a mile away. There was a hiking trail to a beautiful view and wild blueberries that was within walking distance. And we were close to the auto road to Mt. Battie. The best thing about the Inn (in addition to MaryAnn, the bubbly friendly Innkeeper) is that her husband is a french trained chef. The top restaurant quality breakfast that is included is out of this world delicious and filling. We had dinner one night and it was outstanding. The fixed price dinner had many selections and it was a good value. We will definitely stay at Youngtown Inn in the future and recommend it to others.

Overpriced, overhyped, and unremarkable

This place is really overpriced. Compared to other options it's not near any of the local towns so you have to drive at least 15-20 minutes to get to anything except for the lake or hiking. The wife of the couple who runs the place is very kind, but her husband – the chef - is not a very pleasant person and definitely dampened how much we enjoyed the place. I didn't like how we were checked in - I was just handed a receipt to sign right when I walked in before seeing the bill details or my room. The beds are uncomfortable and the food really isn't that impressive. The restaurant gets high reviews on yelp, but that's likely because the other restaurants in the area are not very good and very overpriced. The breakfast, which is only OK, is restricted to one hour in the morning, and there is certainly no room for special orders. I overheard two people ask for eggs instead of the blueberry pancake and they were turned down because it was \"too hot\" in the kitchen. Speaking of which - there is only one window AC unit in the 2 room suite, which really doesn't cut it for cooling the place down. Based on my experiences speaking with other guests I am guessing that the high reviews come from a handful of loyal repeat customers who come back because they have been going there for many years for their family vacations and know the owners. But as a someone that travels all the time for both leisure and work I expected much better service and room quality for what I was paying.

Summer on the Maine Coast

Mary Ann was a great host and made us feel like we were part of the family each and every time we walked thru the door. the breakfasts were outstanding, and the conversations in the sunroom with other guests were very nice. It was a very short ride to Camden, Rockland and Lincolnville..

Perfect location, room and great dining.

We stayed in the Family Suite which is perfect for families or those who want a little extra room. The Inn is a few miles from downtown Camden, and 1 mile from the local winery. The dining was wonderful, and the breakfast was superb. We will stay again when we have the chance.

Wonderful food and very bright and cheery inn

We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the 7pm seating. The staff were all friendly and gave us wonderful service. Our room was large with a bedroom,bath and a third room that had gas fire place with a day bed. Next year we plan on staying a bit longer. Lots to do near the harbor. We enjoyed a sail boat ride and lunch on the dock area.

Our welcome was warm and inviting! The Merciers are fantastic hosts. The inn is so comfortable sitting on a large picturesque plot of land. The dining room is the real star...lovely breakfast, and award winning French cuisine for dinner! We love to return to visit and dine. This is a place that becomes tradition.

Great Find!

We accidnently found this inn and what a great find. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. I especially liked having a balcony to have coffee on . The owners are friendly but the best part is that one owner is a chef and the food in the restaurant was great. I am picky when it comes to restaurants, feeling that most are mediocre. This was delicious. The breakfasts that came with the room were fantastic. It was close to Camden and lots to do. I highly recommend this inn.

Staying at Youngtown Inn is a must!

My family used to stay at Youngtown Inn years ago and MaryAnn was so accommodating with the kids. Now that they're grown, me and my husband go back every year for our anniversary. We love the quaintness of the Inn, the excellent food and of course the graciousness of our hosts. It's in a perfect location, away from the crowds of Camden, but accessible in 5 minutes. Also Cellar Door Winery is literally on the same street, one mile away. It's a perfect get away.

Now a tradition!

This was our second stay at The Youngtown Inn. We requested

the same room as last time, and we're just as happy with it this year. The owners couldn't be nicer, the food is wonderful, and the location is great. We will definitely be back again. Our son now looks forward to our pre-camp stay here almost as much as getting to camp!
