This was the 2nd stay here at the hotel. After the staff commented on the 1st review to us we hoped that it would have been a more positive experience. That was not the case. Juat a few things to note before you book. The wifi is not working anywhere in the rooms we have stayed in. The showers a poorly constructed and have no hot water. The cook to order breakfast has knly two options to eat. The staff is less than friendly to the guests with the exception of the night time front desk guy. We will not be returning to the hotel as twice was more than enough for us. There are alot of better hotels for the same price here. Travelers beware.

When we arrived at 6p.m. the gate was locked and we had to yell 5min to get someone to come. The two women that were with me had to pee really bad, long trip to the hotel. I was then informed that the airport shuttle was going to cost me $20 your add said airport shuttle but did not say the cost. We then found out the t.v. did not work and no hot water.

I love Art. My family and I have been staying for over 10 years here. The ladies (Julie and Daisy) have always greeted us with warm smiles, attentive, and make us feel at home. This last time I was a bit disappointed with the service when checking in, I had a late check in with my cousin with a young lady named Belen. She is the opposite of the ladies mentioned before. She is cold, doesn’t smile, hardly says anything when you ask, mind you we have always treated everyone with respect, say please and thank you. I’m not sure if it was a bad day but according to others, I’m not the first who has a complaint about her. Everything else is great, I will continue to stay & hopefully not run into Belen anytime soon!

Amazing place, great situated Hotel

The staff is very attentive, courteous and warm. The A/C unit worked very efficiently given that Managua could be very hot, you get to sleep very comfortably. Definitely, will be back!!

Every time I come to Nicaragua, I stay at Art. They make you feel welcome and at home. It’s a small cozy hotel. The staff is always very kind and welcoming! I will continue to stay at Art when visiting Nicaragua.

Staff was definitely problem starting with checking in took over a hour very confusing no English at all and my Spanish was limited
I made error on reservation and had at 1 person vs 2 as I had a friend stay a couple nights also
I told them at check in and they never said anything prior. Otherwise I could have changed reservation prior to check in to 2 people. They said they could not change and Expedia could after check as any cancel was not refunded

They tried to charge me for additional person and extra breakfast. I had to prove that rate was same on Expedia for 1 or 2 as what I was charged. They agree no other charge but refused to add second breakfast. Every day they had another issue and the entire experience was fraught with frustration daily

I have stayed at this property every year a couple times to and from Managua from my house in SJDS. This year was so problematic I will never stay again regardless of the fact I like the property area and costs

This hotel keeps its front door locked at all times. Problem with that is, the lady working during the day was never at the front desk to open it when you come and go. To check in, we probably waited at least 15 minutes befoee she slowly wandered over to see if anyone was there. And multiple other times throughout the afternoon/evening, same thing. The lady wokring at night was alot better. But still, this was quite inconvenient and also not safe if there was ever an emergency. I wouldn't stay again.

We were never told there was a charge for hotel shuttle. We made arrangements the night before for a car the following morning. The next morning we had to pay up front the car never showed. We had to make other arrangements which made us cut it short for our appointment.

The only complaint I have is that the pool was being worked on and it wasn't disclosed on the site. We specifically Reserve 2 nights so the children could swim. We have stayed there in the past that is why we made reservations again but nobody disclosed anything about the pool, And that was the main reason why we chose the place... We ended up leaving without staying at and want to a different hotel, Now we have to try to get our money back from Expedia and their customer service is very hard to get in contact with.

This is my second time staying at the hotel. It's owned by the same people that item Hotel X and Airport Hotel across the street.They normally have the pool open, which is the reason I stayed there this second time, but it was closed for maintenance, which was frustrating. Otherwise everything's great, quiet room, nice showers, normally a really nice pool and a good breakfast.

What I was expecting as management priority is to maintain a schedule of cleaning inside the rooms more periodically. I know that this a 3 start hotel but it doesn't take any extra effort to maintain room with fresh towels, cleaning and stuck up with necessary accessories to maintain the rooms more efficiently. I know if you ask, they may have cleaned for me, but that's not the point. Some one has to be able to create an cleaning schedule more periodically.

The staff was super nice but do not recommend this hotel. The room was crawling with ants, non-stop, even found a roach the last day. The breakfast was mediocre, not at all what someone posted in the reviews. They don't even have butter for the dry toast.
They also charge you extra fees for people sleeping there even if you paid for a room with four beds. Incredibly disappointing and never again!!!

Friendly staff, good breakfast, large rooms for reasonable price. Wifi worked surprisingly well. Located in an area with plenty of street food, about a 10 minute drive or 30-40 minute walk from the city center. Lots of common space that makes for a good place to work socialize. Some food and drink options on site, too.

Cute property. I loved, loved, loved that they had an array of animals on the property. Tucan, parrot, cats, turtle, monkeys. I was truly elated. I only stayed one night, but it was pleasant.

What I liked a lot about this place is that it was close to the relatives I went to visit. The environment was like I was home. The staff personnel AMAZING!!!! Two of my best people there are Jonathan and the cooking lady. Shan the staff person from the night was really good but a little less friendly then Jonathan and the cooking lady (sorry she told me her name and can’t remember it) but she was super nice. All profesional.
There was a guy there looks like maybe the owner, partner or the hotel administrator. Sorry but he was very rude to be a very important person in the hotel. Never said good morning or when we left never said thanks for visit. Me as a general manager of a hotel and restaurant in CR is one of the things I do to make sure my guess come back to us. Over all it was an AMAZING experience at the Art Hotel.

By the way the hotel needs a little upgrade and for sure more repairs in the rooms and better towels and pool needs better cleaning.

Was not happy to see monkeys in a cage, I think animals should be in the nature and not for the entertainment of humans. However I don't know the history behind these monkeys or birds. My friend and I were disappointed with our shuttle reservation, someone made a mistake while booking our shuttle and at 4:30am we were told that no taxi was bringing us to the airport. We were stressed out and needed to be at the airport, the staff was not finding solutions to help us. Even though it was not his mistake, he should of offered more solutions. Other than those dissatisfactions, the room was good and clean.

Comfortable and peaceful stay in Art hotel again. Limited choice at breakfast but well prepared. Bed was big and comfortable. WiFi in the room was strong. Modern, multichannel flat screen tv was a bonus. I don't like the deck over the pool as it restricts sunshine too much, otherwise the outside area has improved. The front entrance seems to be turning into a bar which may be an issue for me going forward as I usually stay there when in Managua.

This was my second year staying in the Art hotel in February. The staff are kind, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. The loud parrots are gone, and the monkeys aren't so noisy. The room was comfortable and the breakfasts were always delicious.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Everything was wonderful for the price and level of service we received. The monkeys in the courtyard became my son’s hero highlight of the trip. The parrot in the dining room was hilarious. Very happy 😃

The hotel lobby and interior courtyard are pleasant, with 2 monkeys in a cage that will eat from your hands. The room was adequate and the beds were comfortable. However, \"restaurant and bar\" is stretching the truth; it's more like a snack bar. Also, they don't have an airport shuttle as advertised; they will arrange a taxi for you for $11, which is about double the prevailing taxi rates in Managua.

I love this place as it gives you the feel of being a part of daily life with the not too busy street right outside the restaurant area. It is a great barrio with a park and University around one corner and an excellent private hospital around the other. They are working to resolve a problem with the hot water. That was the only drawback for me. Great place!

Nice place to stay upon your arrival in Managua.

Very friendly helpful staff. Rooms and common areas are clean and comfortable. Will probably stay again on our way back home. Only downside is it’s out of walking distance to restaurants and bars if you want to venture out but they have a nice little place to eat at the hotel.

Perfect for my needs

The hotel perfectly described itself online...a no frills clean accommodation in the heart of Managua. What is didn't say was the staff were really friendly and really helpful and made the stay special. If I am passing through Managua again this will be the 1st hotel I look up to see if they have space for me. Highly recommend.
P.s only one thing. If you need private parking the hotel does not have it. They have street parking.

Difficult to find:

It's very family friendly place: a small swimming pool, small gym stacked on top of half the swimming pool, 2 active monkeys & a very talkative parrot bird, kids love them!
Front desk staffs were very helpful w/ our requests: hot water in shower wasn't working; how to get to waterfront; where to get lunch...they solved them all.
Breakfast was adequate, enough choice and good enough in portion.
But location was not ideal: cost at least $5 - $8 for taxi to get to water front, then another amt to get back, taxi drivers can get very greedy asking 260 Cordoba to get back to the hotel. We were able to get a taxi for 100 but he couldn't find it ; If you choose to walk, you have to walk thru long, trashy streets & seemingly vacant park/lots to the main boulevard, walk thru seemingly not so safe neighborhood.
No direct buses, you have to use several transfers to the water front where central government buildings & water front park are. We couldn't find good restaurants near the hotel. Their kitchen only serves breakfast like foods.
Our room was near swimming pool. So it was noisy even at 10 pm when people came to swimming & having a good time. In the morning when we tried to sleep in a bid, the kids from other guest rooms were having their fun time at the pool. We have a puddle in front of our door from swimming pool.
Lastly, the bathroom/sewer drain smells awful all night, there's no fan venting out, so we had to keep bathroom door closed. Hold our breath when we needed to use it.

Hotel is in a terrible area of town.

I didn’t feel safe walking around this hotel. It is not centrally locates and does not have any good restaurants, shopping, or sights near. I asked the staff to recommend places to visit and was told there was nothing good to see.

We were met at the airport for a pick up, only $15 US paid at the hotel. Upon arrival, the hotel staff could not find our reservation from Expedia, but after a few phone calls this was straightened out. The staff was pleasant enough and speak both English and Spanish.
The hotel is decorated with local crafts and has some resident birds and monkeys. The room was small but comfortable in a walkable part of the city.

Keep in mind where you are going, this is a budget hotel in Nicaragua, and set your expectations appropriately, and you will be pleased. Clean room, friendly staff, hot water and breakfast.
