The fan in the room did not work and the phone was not connected…no dial tone…I had to walk to the front desk to order my food which was not a big deal but for as highly recommended as this resort came it was sadly adequate. The room was freshly painted and needed more time to air out before allowing guests. The room adjacent to mine had a painter there in the 7am hour on a Saturday rolling paint onto the walls that adjoined my room. Unreal the hotel would allow this as there is no way to sleep while walls are being rolled.

The person who checked us in past midnight was wonderful. The room and the overall condition of the residential side of the hotel was terrible.
1. There were two full beds (not queen) in the room.
2. One bed had a bed skirt, the other did not.
3. There was hardly any space to enter the bed on one side while the other bed had plenty of space towards the window. The layout was just not conducive to 3 people staying.
4. There was no plugs to use on the nightstand between the beds.
5. Couple of Lamps in the room has lampshades that were peeling and breaking off.
6. The bathroom did not have any towel hooks.
7. There was an anti slip mat in the bathtub that was disgusting and dirty all around the edges from long overuse and improper cleaning.
8. The shower curtain was not cleaned properly after the previous guests. There was hair all over it.

First room we were given was freezing cold, told that the thermostat takes 10 minutes to start heat. Sat there in cold, turns out thermostat was broken. First of all, my mom can’t easily use steps, and our room had no elevator access. We weren’t told this before booking or checking in.

The rooms and property are very dated. There wasn’t enough light to do our makeup in the morning, even in the bathroom. Several outlets didn’t work.

The tub, while technically not dirty, had stains along the edges and in the caulking. I didn’t feel comfortable giving my daughter a bath. Also, I slept on the side of the bed near the wall, and it smelled musty and dirty there—like the carpet on that side hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. It was strong enough to keep me awake.

I always thought Toftrees was supposed to be more of an upscale property. This was not upscale at all.

The room was not clean when I checked in. There were no towels, soap, or shampoo. Also the toilet had not been cleaned. The wifi was also out so I could not work. On my last day, the power was out and there were no backout lights, so I spent the night in darkness.
