Location was convenient but noisy from road traffic, refrigerator sounded like a jack hammer, and climate control was odd… it went from freezing to blowing hot air with a change of 2 degrees on the thermostat.

Property was clean and tidy. Staff was friendly except the one manager who was on duty at our check in . She was very unwelcoming however the young man who initially served was great! The only other issue we had was the towels located in the pool area courtesy of the hotel were damp . Other then that I would recommend staying here !!

Did the job!

The staff were very nice (and VERY accommodating), but the room was difficult to cool, the lobby area was also very hot. The shower was a little dirty, and there were some leftover items from previous stays. Breakfast was adequate and kids had fun.

Customer service was excellent. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and the staff taking care of the breakfast buffet did a great job. I didn't have any interaction with the maid service staff, but the room was clean and quiet and had everything we needed, and the bed was comfortable. Good parking, convenient location for walking.

This location covers all of the basics: friendly and helpful staff, and a clean room. Being a Residence Inn, it did lack some things we were expecting like dish soap, kitchen towels, and a few other bathroom basics. The pots and pans were very old and we would not have use them for cooking.
The gym was nice and clean, but the treadmill‘s are in really bad shape if you’re looking to work out. We didn’t use the pool area, but we also didn’t see anyone maintaining it and it didn’t look exceptionally clean. Overall, it was a fine stay but not exceptional.

A premium name hiding a lack luster hotel

First let me say positive: Staff was very polite, kind, helpful. Beautiful lobby and grounds. Then we had to switch rooms because room we were first in had dry pee under the toilet lid, black mold growing under the the toilet bowl rim, rust in tub, smudged lip stain on a clean glass, dog hair in clean bowls and clean utensils. The cleaner room that we switched to, while it was much cleaner and it had a comfy bed, here’s what was miserable: Bedding was thin for late October. Had to ask front desk for extra blankets. Small mold marks on bedroom curtains. Tub backed up with water as I showered to about an inch high and as a result some type of sandy brown dirt formed near the drain. My husband investigated and found tissue stuck in the drain but even after he removed the tissue the shower still flooded. Toilet got clogged and we had to ask for a plunger which fixed the clog. Dust on top of bed frame was like 1/4 inch thick which says no one has deep cleaned the place for months. Which explains the poor maintenance in the bathtub. Coffee at the lobby was lukewarm and tasted like watered down coffee. Three times I went there the creamer was low on cream. One last complaint, the closet and bedroom doors were hard to open. Had to yank them or push them to open/close. Pretty pricey to stay for the low quality experience. What really surprised me was the coffee. It’s easy and cheap to make good coffee. How’d they get that wrong?

Just disappointed that the room was not very clean. Bathroom and kitchen area looked like it had a quick wipe down and no cleaning products were used. An empty toilet paper roll was in the bathroom and no extra roll of toilet paper was left. No vacuum was ever used. Night tables and desk where never wiped down either. Thank goodness I bring my own sanitizer wipes with me. Really disappointed with this particular location. Not worth the money at all.

My stay here was terrible! I was supposed to stay for two days from august 27th-29th and I didn’t even get to stay in my own room let alone for the entire two days because the front desk charged me for my entire stay at check in when they aren’t supposed to charge until you check out! This literally ruined my whole stay I couldn’t even check in and I had to stay with my friend in her room cause of this issue and even had to leave early cause I didn’t have my room and the guy at the front desk kept insisting they didn’t charge me for my full stay at check in even said I wasn’t checked in and I had to have another credit card to authorize that amount when they shouldn’t have even charged me to check in to begin with! Absolute worst first experience ever and I will never book with them again!

Staff was excellent, didn’t like that you had to ask the staff for anything you needed for the room, given service was only ever 3 days. Staff was helpful when asked. Hall should have been cleaned more frequently. Complimentary Breakfast was above average for a free breakfast. Shower was slippery had to buy a mat to resolve this.

The hotel was decent and the location was good. Definitely the dog hotel. Which was good for us as we had a dog until the second day when they placed a small verbal dog in the room next door, resulting in some barking. The this apparently led to a compliant to which the front desk called and inferred we had not paid a pet fee, although we had. We were also charged incidental fees of varying amounts everyday we stayed but nobody could explain why or for what purpose. Ultimately, not bad for a hotel in state college that allows pets. I do not know if it earns and exception though.

Booked this hotel for the pool and the “full hot breakfast buffet” the hot breakfast was just a wrapped jimmy dean bacon egg cheese- no vegetarian option. Pool heater was broken and water freezing. Staff were nice enough, but room was so over priced for not providing the amenities it advertised.

During a pandemic, even more than in the before-times, cleanliness is key for a hotel. When i checked in, the front desk guy said the room intended for me wasn't cleaned so he moved me to a different room. I lugged all my things up from the car into my (supposedly clean) room. It smelled like smoke. I brought my own lysol wipes to re-clean and glad i did -- it was filthy. When i turned on the bedside light, a huge spot on the carpet next to the bed seemed to glow. I will never stay here again. On my return trip, i switched from Marriott to Hilton and was very very very pleased.

Room was nice. Very good view. Bedsheets were dirty and we had to replace them as soon as we got there. Front desk agent didn't know how to find towels and we had to go back three times (over 10 hours) before they were ready. We had no towels as we were requested to leave the dirty ones in the hallway. I told the young man at the desk i was going to take them from the pool if he couldn't figure out how to find some. Outside of that, peaceful stay.

The rooms were not cleaned thoroughly upon arrival. There was sesame seeds in the chair, a chicken bone under the sink where the dishwasher pod was and no dish detergent in the room to wash dishes with. The toilet also did not flush correctly and you had to keep waiting for it to go down.

Watch out price hiked for events

The hotel room price was hugely overpriced because of the university families weekend-shame on Marriott for doing this. I will definitely look elsewhere next time due to this experience.
The gym did not have any towels or cups for water and was very cold 60F. Breakfast didn’t have any bacon either day we stayed there.

Good customer service

The room we live in has a strong smell of construction, and the hanger in the closet is covered by dust. Since we only stayed one night , we didn't want to change. So we stayed at lobby untill 11:00pm, and we opened the windows all night.The next day our family member all felt dizzy. I suggest manager should pay attention to environmental protection issues after construction, newly renovated rooms should not be sold to customers. All the other aspects are great . Good customer service.
