The mini fridge wasn't working properly. It stopped and we tried to get it to work again. Wasn't very cold. Pool & hot tub were very small. If you are an adult, the hot tub holds 4, and the pool is big enough for kids. But not exactly adult friendly. Room was very nice, other than the fridge. Staff was great. Breakfast was GREAT!

They need to work on their breakfast. Ra out of coffee and it took few complains to have it refilled. Likewise, ran out of gravy and asking for refill did not help. Our room key stopped working, there wasn't anyone at the front desk, luckily cleaning staff was on our floor and let us into our room.

Property is under renovation, but rooms and halway that are in use are not clean, even when they brag about it. There were makeup stains I removed with a tissue!!!!! So bedroom was not clean throughly

Stayed here for one night. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the hotel and room felt a bit run down. The room had a musty smell and unfortunately the TV wasn’t working during our stay. Overall it was an ok stay for a quick overnight trip.

Everything was pretty standard for a Comfort Inn. It was clean. It was comfortable. Everything was in good condition. I wasn’t very impressed with the person who checked us in that evening, but I shrugged it off as him being busy and perhaps not having any help. The real problem, and it was very unexpected as I deliberately don’t choose the budget motels, was a domestic situation somewhere above or around us that carried on and on all night. Screaming, slamming things, a little one crying in fear. I called the front desk to alert the person on duty and they acted incredibly annoyed. Then, the n top of the fighting, we could hear banging on doors and demands to open the door, etc. This may have been the police at some point

Arrived was put on the first floor room since we came with a service dog which was in the reservation and the room was less but couldn’t get any price adjustment for the change of room type. Walked down the hall to our room there was a bucket on the carpet that was catching water from a leak in the hallway because a tile in the hallway ceiling was removed. Ice machine broken on first floor had to go to another floor. Lots of yelling in the hallway from a woman with an insanely loud deep voice very angry. Breakfast went to get a cup of coffee and I thought I was going to throw up from the taste of it I spit it out tasted like mold which I am highly allergic to with other disability and allergies. I had to walk to the gas station across the street and I asked how they’re coffee was explained the coffee at Comfort they stated they had good coffee I went to make a cup the cashier was kind enough to not charge me for a coffee also handed me 2 postcards of starved rock as I was staying with my husband and service dog for thr weekend during valentine’s day. I would never stay at a Comfort Inn again this is a 2nd horrible experience with this facility learned my lesson again. No thank you Comfort Inn there is nothing Comforting about this experience.

The place is a little worn. One of the beds in our room was broken and falling off the frame, exposing a metal part of the frame that would have been a hazard to my ankle had I not seen it first.
Told the front desk they should shut the room down to any future renters/guest until it is fixed. Someone will be getting hurt if they don’t.

What a great hotel! Pet friendly, (very important !)rooms were immaculate, comfortable, shower/tub had great water pressure and for us tall people, the perfect height shower head! I give it five stars! AAAA++++! Location was perfect too, right by a gas station and easy access to the Interstate. If we're ever in the area again, we are staying there!

Staff was courteous, yes, very much so. **** The room.....well, the carpet had many large dark carpet spots spread across its surface - felt unclean. Drywall corners had chalky deep dents; AC had a loud buzz; We had decided to save ~ $30 dollars and not use the \"other\" very nice motel we had used in the Spring. (I'd like to think this is just the one bad room we unfortunately were given)

This hotel seemed to think of everything others don’t. There was tampons and pads for free in the women’s public bathroom. Restaurant style biscuits and gravy with real sausage for breakfast. Only reason they lost one star was it seemed the hot tub needed to be cleaned up, but I’m sure that’s an easy fix. Check in and check out was a breeze. I will look for this hotel on my next trip to Ottawa.

The positives was our room was fairly clean and the staff was wonderful. The negatives was the tile in the bathroom floor was cracked. When you stood by the toilet the floor made noises and felt like it was going to fall thru. When I took a shower the shower felt the same way. They advertised having a hot tub. The hot tub was cold and had bugs in it. It looked as though it had not worked for a long time.

Room#2 was not the Double King I had reserved, in fact I think it was a full, not even a queen size bed—and extremely uncomfortable. Didn’t realize how much until I was sore the next two mornings.
Room#3 looked to be a double king size, (well laid out as the others were too), but the door when leaving had to be slammed shut or it would not lock and pop open. When entering, trying to deadbolt it required almost weightlifter strength—I showed this to the front desk guy and his reply was that the top lock worked and no one would get in. I politely told him don’t ever tell a woman traveling alone one lock is enough. There was a problem with the fridge (mini), once discovered it was taken care of quickly and easily.
Overall, not quite the relaxing restful stay I was hoping for—though the nice clean pool helped a lot—and it could use some updates, I still would consider it a contender next trip to Ottawa/Starved Rock.

The staff was nice, but the property itself is very rundown, front lobby smelled like cigarettes and wallpaper peeling off the walls. Ceiling tiles look like they had water damage and then the cleaning crew didn’t really clean the rooms very well. They left used soap in the shower and there was food underneath the Nightstand. For as much as it was, you would expect it to be a little nicer and cleaner

The pictures make this hotel look WAY nicer. The room was dingy. There is mold in each corner of the bathroom celing. The fridge was not cold nor could we get it cold. The hot tub was working but the water was icky. You couldnt see feet at the second step - super cloudy/dirty water. We would not stay here again.

The bathroom fan was very noisy along with a dog upstairs that was barking for half the night. The bathroom was small, with the sink outside of the bathroom, a short toilet, and low pressure water for the toilet. The pillows were half the size of normal pillows (like cut in half). The hot tub had low pressure jets.

There seems to be an epidemic in Ottawa. Both this hotel and the Hampton both have the whirlpool/spa broken. After a long day working on our house that burned down the first thing we want do is to relax in a spa but can't seem to do so in Ottawa. Secondly when we got up the next morning the dresser by the tv was covered in ants. There was at least 100 ants there and all food that was set there had to be thrown away.

The Hotel is Great! It's clean, safe, convenient, this was my 2nd time staying here within 6 months, my last stay the Jacuzzi wasn't working, this time the Jacuzzi was better, but the elevator was out of service. I was upgraded to a nicer room, on the 2nd floor. The Breakfast and coffee are Fantastic. I hope for Everything working if I come back to Ottawa soon!
