It was a great experience for our first camping trip the property was clean and great they bring stuff that we need and make sure everything run great is enough space for our family i will suggest to bring moskito repelent overall they do a great job and had everything that we need to stay there if you cook outside make sure you bring something to clean the grill outside so you can cook .

This was super fun! We went with our 5 and 3 year old and they had a blast. The camp fire was perfect and it was really nice they provided wood and starters and great chairs. The cabin itself was great and had everything we needed--pans, fridge, sink, plates, etc...The bathroom was tough--the shower door was broken--which made it really difficult considering how small everything was already. We totally felt like we were secluded and it was a lot of fun with our kids.

We did not get a check-in text message, so we had to reach out and ask for instructions, but once we did it was all very easy.

The initial message said I would get a text message the morning of my stay with how to get to the property. That did not occur. Directions came via email 30 minutes after check-in. Luckily, the staff was responsive when I reached out and I did receive our cabin code in a timely fashion. We booked this stay to celebrate our toddler's birthday and were especially looking forward to the s'mores but they were no where to be found and when I reached out, the response was the shipment was delayed and they were out. It definitely was part of the experience we paid for but did not receive. It would have been nice if the staff had proactively reached out so we could have picked up something at the store in town. The shower was too small for a toddler and ants were a real problem inside. BUT, we love nature, the location was 10/10 and the provided firewood was a win and thoroughly enjoyable. The beds were comfortable and the picture window was perfect.

This is a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors, as though you are camping, but have a comfortable room with all necessary amenities, PLUS things for a campfire! Very fun and private, except for the Baltimore Oriole who came to chat with us while at our firepit!!

The property is very nice! I stayed once before, and was very happy to return.
There were some issues with trying to contact someone when I arrived. Marriott, who owns the property, could not give me any information regarding an early check in.
I finally received a text from Post Card Cabins to give me my cabin. The door code did not work. I had to drive back to their office to get help. They switced me to a nicer location, however, it was quite confusing to open a lock box for a key. I waved down a maintenance person who assisted me.
I wish there was a better way to contact someone prior to check in time.
Also they promised refills on amenities, and never did.

This was a wonderful cabin/tiny house vacation place. In the middle of the woods, quiet but still close to activities and restaurants. When laying in bed you felt like you were in a treehouse. We were especially happy that our dog; who goes everywhere with us, was able to enjoy the property also. The welcome snacks were a nice touch including the s’more kits and wood for the fire pit.

There were aspects of the experience I enjoyed, but unfortunately several issues significantly impacted my comfort and overall impression of the stay.
One of the biggest concerns was the sleeping experience. The pillows provided were extremely thin and flattened almost immediately once any weight was placed on them, offering little to no support overnight. Getting comfortable and getting quality sleep became difficult because of this. In addition, the blanket felt unusually rough and scratchy rather than soft and cozy, which made sleeping much less comfortable than expected.
The most concerning issue, however, involved the bedding itself. After removing the sheets, I discovered a very large red stain on the bedding underneath. It appeared as though it may have been blood or another bodily-fluid stain that had not been properly addressed before my arrival. Finding that was honestly unsettling and immediately raised concerns about cleanliness and attention to detail in preparing the cabin for guests. To make matters more concerning, after sleeping there I noticed that my skin had a noticeable reaction and irritation afterward, which only heightened my concern after discovering the stain. I obviously cannot say with certainty what caused it, but finding what appeared to be a bodily-fluid stain underneath where I had been sleeping made the situation especially uncomfortable and concerning.
However, for the price point and experience being offered, I expected more.

We stayed at the Romelo Postcard Cabin in Ottawa at Postcard Cabins Ottawa for our 10 year wedding anniversary, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The cabin was SO cute, super clean, and unbelievably peaceful — exactly the kind of place where you instantly slow down and just breathe again.
We spent the day hiking at Matthiessen State Park, which was absolutely beautiful, then had an unbelievable dinner at Niku Japanese Kitchen just minutes from the cabin. Ending the evening back at the cabin with a cozy fire was the perfect reset.
Everything about the stay was easy, cozy, and just what we needed to celebrate such a special milestone. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend our anniversary — already want to plan another trip back.

I was really looking forward to my stay at Postcard Cabins, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment I arrived.
I found two spiders in the bed and multiple ants on the counter space, which made it extremely uncomfortable to settle in or relax. What made things more frustrating was the lack of accommodation for these issues. Despite bringing the concerns forward, there was no meaningful effort to resolve the situation or make the stay more comfortable. When I raised these concerns, I was told that encountering occasional bugs is part of their policy. Based on that, my refund was denied, and there was no willingness to offer a reasonable accommodation or alternative solution. At that point, it became clear that my concerns were not being taken seriously, which made the experience even more frustrating.

Stayed here yesterday and honestly, this place exceeded expectations. From the moment I walked in, it felt peaceful and well put together. The cabin had a clean, modern feel with that warm wood interior that just makes you instantly relax.

The big window view was my favorite part. Waking up and seeing nothing but trees and nature felt like hitting a reset button on life. It was quiet, private, and exactly what I needed to unwind.

Everything was clean, organized, and easy to use. You can tell they actually care about the experience, not just renting out a space.

If you’re looking for a quick getaway not too far from Chicago, this is definitely worth it. I’ll be coming back for sure.

Room was clean and orderly, checking in is easy and finding the cabin is pretty easy as long as you have the map saved. The space is beautiful and relaxing. Only real issues we had were a *lot* of ladybugs (kind of expected, but still worth mentioning) and the room does not have any form of cooking spray supplied. The other issue was the entire property lost power at the *exact* moment my girlfriend and I were about to start cooking dinner, and remained out for about the next hour. It wasn't that big of a deal, but I was unfortunately never able to get any form of communication or compensation from Postcard for this event after the fact.

There is no front desk. So before arrival I got text about my cabin name and key code. But there is no map. There are about 60 cabins scattered in the wood. I can’t find my cabin. I called the customer service. They said they were going to send me a map. Never got it. At the end, with the help of another guest, I found my cabin. On the second day, toilet water tank ran out of water.

First the positives, the cabin was exactly as the online website stated it would be. It was clean, quaint, cozy, all the amenities were there with snacks, firewood, utensils, and the bed was comfortable. The night we stayed it was almost a full moon and the stars were out, it was beautiful almost like a picture. The reason why we didn’t rate it as a 5 star was that the shower leaked. We noticed when we came in that the wood in the bathroom was stained looking like it had been wet. We figured that someone didn’t close the shower door and water was a problem at some point. My husband took a shower and stated that the towel that was on the ground as a mat for the shower was soaking wet. I figured he didn’t shut the shower door all they way so when I took one I made sure it was shut tight but the exact thing happened but because the floor was already so wet the other towel I laid down was soaking too. It was to the point that a huge puddle was in the middle of the bathroom. So from that point on we had to wear our shoes if we wanted to use the bathroom. If we were to stay another night I would have asked for a different cabin due to the shower leaking. We wondered how long that it had been going on for the wood to have that big of a wet stain on it for me to notice it. We also wondered what the wood looked like under the rug in the bathroom.

We had the sweetest stay at Postcard Cabins near Starved Rock. The setting was peaceful and the views were beautiful — exactly the quiet reset we needed. We loved relaxing by the campfire and really appreciated all the thoughtful amenities: coffee, hot cocoa, oatmeal, water, and plenty of firewood. The bed was super comfortable and the whole cabin felt cozy and well cared for. It was a perfect getaway with my husband and we’re already planning to come back.

3 major points to be aware of: the name is deceiving (this is not at Starved Rock state park but 20 min away), if the power goes out- so does the water and Ameren Electric is not very timely, if you book thru Hotels.com then this postcard cabin group will not reimburse you if problems arise (but Hotels.com was fabulous). We got no cabin # or entry code that day but easily reached a offsite rep on the phone. She was fabulous all thru our fiasco. 10 min of bringing our belongings in then power went off. Super cold outside wirh windchill of 15°, so headed into town to wait it out, Rep kept us aware of progress. 4 hours later and no sign of repairs, discussed with the rep the fact of having to use the woods as a bathroom during the night was not acceptable. We wanted to cancel and were told that all the reservations would be reviewed and refunds determined. Returned to grab our bags and got a hotel in town for the night. Supposedly the power came back on in another few hours. Next morning another rep was in charge, who rudely told me there was nothing for them to fix, and the \"3rd party\" would be the one to deal with. Why were we led on to believe the company authorities would be calling to discuss it? Nothing was mentioned about Hotels.com taking care of it. Positives: great view from bedroom, very small interior but adequate for 2 adults, nice size bathroom, only sink is in kitchen, no microwave, modern decor, was nice temperature inside when we 1st got there, coffee/snacks
