Bed sheets had holes, the comforter was stained, and the mattress was stained. A cockroach got in the bed in the middle of the night, crawled on my wife’s head, and got between 2 pillows. The ice bucket contained a bunch of someone’s hairs or hair extensions. The room was very hot when we entered it. Staff gave us 2 complimentary bottles of water, which was a nice guesture.

For $95/night, I expected a clean, basic room, and that is exactly what I got. My room was dated but spotless, and the folks at the desk were extremely pleasant and polite. The AC worked perfectly, and the TV had a pretty decent selection. A pleasant surprise was that although some folks were horsing around a little loudly, when I went to bed it stopped and stayed quiet. Only real comment I would make is that apparently the lobby is closed, and all business has to be done through the night window. No real problem, but I had other people gathered around me while I was trying to go through my wallet, Overall, it was a good experience, and if I go back to Havelock, I'll likely go back.

When we checked in our first room was half renovated. There was no art on the walls and the bed was very thin. A couple days into our stay my foot went through the cracked bathtub. We were moved into another room, which had mold on the shower curtain and the floors turned our feet black. We asked for a complete service and the floors remained dirty. Our room was never cleaned in the 8 days we were there. The key cards to our room stopped working twice locking us out of our room. The staff thankfully helped with that each time, but it was extremely inconvenient that they weren't programmed correctly either time. We will never stay here again.

Overall, I had a good stay. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and for the price, you really get what you pay for. The room was decent, and the air conditioner worked great, which made my stay comfortable.

That said, there were a few maintenance and comfort issues. The ice machine was empty, my refrigerator didn't work, my sink knob was broken, the pillows were very flat, and the blanket was thin. The towels were also very thin, so I ended up buying towels at Walmart and used the pillow and blanket I had brought with me.

This isn't a luxury motel and doesn't offer amenities, but if you're looking for an affordable place to stay, it does the job. Considering the price, I can't complain too much. I would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend with our two children. It was quiet, and pretty clean. You could tell they are still in the process of making improvements to the place. But for the price we paid, it was better than expected. We also really only needed a place to shower and sleep the rest of the time we were on the beach or at the park across the street. It was a nice little weekend getaway.

This is an upcoming property. The owners have taken on a big job and they are steadily improving this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spotless. The beds were firm but comfortable and the linens were very clean and fresh.
The fixtures are dated but they functioned flawlessly. No issues with insects. The A/C cooled nicely and had a constant fan function to block out nighttime noises.
There was plenty of parking and no undesirable persons were ever seen lurking about the premises.

I look forward to coming back in the future to see how the owners progress. It was a good deal for the money, and very convenient to MCAS Cherry Point's main gate. There are also plenty of nice restaurants nearby.

Let's help the owners bring this property up to the next level. They can't do it without our support. Definitely recommend.

Honestly the price is very good and with there not being many options in havelock at all, it’s pretty good. There are just a few things with cleanliness that i didn’t love. i felt that the bedding did not only look unclean, it felt unclean. there were a few odd stains on the bedding (sheets) and the comforter part of the bedding wasn’t very comfortable. We also stayed for 4 nights and the room was only restocked with new towels once. The staff was extremely kind and helpful though. I appreciated their kindness!

On check-in, the front desk was not prepared for my reservation. Gave me 2 rooms. Upon entry of the first, roaches scattered both on the AC unit and in the bathtub.
The manager said he would have it cleaned. I insisted on a new room. He acted as if that was a problem. I left to go to my business destination and came back at approximately 11 p.m. The parking lot was almost full, not a problem but as we were parking, 3 men were going from car to car looking in windows and checking door handles. I left! I am VERY disappointed in Expedia being associated with this type of establishment. Therefore, I cannot trust Expedia anymore and will remove the app from my phone and never use it again. You certainly wasted my money and time with this establishment being on your list.

Price reflects the quality, fine for a brief stay

It's a room and a bathroom that functions for a stay. For one night, it was fine. I would not stay for more than a quick overnight crash. While our room was non-smoking, it definitely smelled like smoke (probably in the curtains or bed where it's harder to get the smell out). Neighbors woke us up talking loudly outside our room at 11pm; not the fault of the owners but feels typical for the vibe of the place.

The hotel was no frills. It was clean and the check in was fast. The whole town is kind of industrial so even the more expensive hotels have the same feel around them. But again for sleeping and showering it was a perfect fit. Would I want to bring the kids to play out in the parking lot maybe not. Like me for a stop over then on my way the next day or two yes. Very poor maintenance, broken tiles on the floor, no coffee pot in room, King mattress sagged, entry door had large gaps, heater was very noisy, loose plumbing fixtures in bathroom, You have to checkin through a bullet proof glass window which means there isn't even a place to get coffee.
