The gentleman at the front counter was kind and courteous and assume he was the owner. This property needs attention. It was anything but \"quality\". The carpets leading to the room were dirty, the bathroom door looked as if a mechanic fresh off a repair had stayed there the night before, and the beds were lumpy. The best thing about this room was the shower.
The place looked tired and is in dire a deep clean.

It smelled like mold, the “jetted hot tub” is just a tub with a diy project jets added to it that didn’t even worked.. they were dirty as well… no way I was gonna sit in that nasty tub. First room I went to before they switched me, had massive moldy shower with an used up soap bar..

Zac was not used , heat worked. PTAC unit blew dust when turned on.The first room I checked into had a faulty door and was discovered when I got locked out of the room and went to the front desk. Was moved to another room . Not the most pleasant of stays. Fees were charged for damages that never occurred, and I have yet to receive a refund. Will never stay here again.

Staff walked in my room without knocking, I was laying in bed when this happened. What happened with knocking? I had the sign outdoor my door as well.

My fiancé had to walk up stairs didn’t recall any stairs mentioned he is a disabled veteran who has had several knee replacement! We were given a gesture to leave the property without a refund. To contact third party! Hostess wasn’t pleasant! And let your people know about there $150.00 DEPOSIT before they check in because they don’t give confirmation you were there and not all people carry extra funds to get robbed all the time!

We made the best of our stay even thought them knees on fire!

Starting off checking in was easy. The ONLY white lady that worked the counter was very nice and helpful. Maybe okay to stay for 1 night quickly but we stayed from Saturday til Friday. Our trash was never taking out until it piled so high. The bathroom was horrible, mold everywhere. The air messed up in our first room so the moved us. The 2nd room was just as bad including the mold beside the bed on the floor in the pics. Neither room had the sheets changed nor the floor cleaned all week until I swept it myself! The pool WE cleaned every time we used it. Not to mention the chairs broke every time we sat in them outside. Lastly the free breakfast is cookies muffins cereal or waffles. We asked about things like eggs and such and was NEVER had food there the whole week! I don’t recommend at all honestly. I don’t do reviews like this normally but this was the worse experience in a long time!

If I could give zero stars, I’d be happy to. The only delightful person at this hotel was Sue who willingly went above and beyond. Seems like she was the only one that knew what she was doing also.

Now about the hotel room: mold, in the bathrooms from the walls, to the vents to the pipes. It makes sense because they don’t have daily room maintenance. It was a hassle just asking for towels because they didn’t have extras available. Our towel rack in the bathroom was hanging on by a mere thread and fell as soon as I reached for a washcloth.

In our original room (on the second floor), we found a waterbug, cockroach and spider. We then realized that the room was properly sealed because the air condition hole wasn’t secured.

The overnight staff were sitting in the lobby area (not behind the front desk), with their feet on the couches, making it feel like we were inconveniencing them when we asked for necessities.

Asked for a discount on the room due to creepy crawlers in my bed and the best thing they said they can do was offer a 10% discount on my next stay in North Carolina. No care or understanding in the world about the reason why.

Our stay started on Sunday the 1st and ended Monday the 9th and cost us over $850 that I now wish we spent elsewhere. The property itself was really nice for what it is until Thursday came…
On Thursday there was a decent amount of rain and I didn’t think anything of it until I heard a dripping noise around 9:30pm. I got out of bed to see what was dripping, turn out it was the ceiling. After finding the leak I started looking at the ceiling more intently and noticed this definitely wasn’t the first time this happened. The lady at the front desk moved us to the room across the hall. This room was not any better as the curtains weren’t on the window properly and I had to use a hair clip to keep them shut. The bed was horribly worn in the middle and no matter how close to the edge you were you rolled into the middle. We were already exhausted and just wanted to sleep so we stayed there for the night and decided to deal with it in the morning. When we got up for the day I went back down and the lady was very understanding and gave us a new room and told me to come back after getting our belongings moved over and we would talk about some kind of compensation.
Here is why my review is a rant not a rave… She said she was contacting her higher up and would get back in contact with me. I didn’t hear anything back that day so the next day I went down to the desk and it was a different person. I asked her for an update about the situation and she acted like she h

This was the worst quality inn that i have stayed at anywhere in the country. Staff was horrible and beyond unhelpful and it was very difficult to communicate with them. over $300 in extra fees, and the property smelled like mildew, and the 2 queen beds are really 2 full size beds

The hotel has aged over the years. The lights in the room were so dim it was almost dark. The bathroom tub needs caulked.
At breakfast the wife had cereal, but they had no spoons to eat it with. The location is what I like about it, but the negatives are now outweighing the positives.

The hotel wasn't super clean and no one cleaned the room during our stay. I drank rotten milk the first morning and decided to forego breakfast the next day. Friends in other rooms had it worse off, broken beds, roaches, and poo on the TP roll. Not to mention the couple that opened the door for their stay to a dirty room with unmade beds and dirty towels. I think it's a toss up staying here. I was the luckier of our group.

I would never stay there again!

it was terrible. We went there for a romantic getaway anniversary. The TV didn’t work. They said they’d come up and fix it after about an hour. We just told them to forget it when they did not show. Then the Jacuzzi tub that we were promised did not work the room that we booked looked nothing like the room that we got. yes we told them the problems when we left after three hours. They said nothing.

We stayed at this hotel last year 2023. We always stay in havelock for a night between September and October, however I will not stay here again after this year 2024. I’m not one to leave reviews, but this needs to be addressed. Last year, this hotel was great, clean, smelled nice, everything was great for the price! However, this year…. When checking in, the 2 staff memebers kept whispering among themselves while I was standing at the counter, and acted as if they didn’t know what they were doing. Then, we get to our room, and when we opened the door the smell of mildew and some dirty smell just hits you in the face. The room looked like it wasn’t even cleaned, I was honestly scared to get in the bed. Woke up the next morning and the air conditioner had left a huge puddle of water all in the floor. It was so nice last year, I don’t know if they came under new management or what. But it was already late checking in, and we had to be up at 5 am to catch our ferry, so we toughened it out and stayed. But you can bet, I will not be staying here again when we come to havelock next year!

It said hot breakfast on web and it’s not . The only thing they serve that’s hot was the waffle. Remote for tv didn’t work, the a/c barely put out, refrigerator stopped working and food ruined, water from frig was all over the floor, no carpet on floor, toilet doesn’t flush properly or should I say completely.

No working tv, desk said maintenance would come in 10 minutes, no show. Toilet would not shut off unless you removed the tank lid and wiggled the inner working. AC unit huffed like an aged smoker turned it off. People in the next room mattress dancing with sound effects and no tv to drown them out. Maintenance man showed the next day, changed remote but smelled very badly of body odor. I travel a lots and am not overly picky but this was too much. Hotel would nit issue refund because my room was noncancelable. I did not cancel it unfortunately, i lived through it. I will say staff was sweet and bed was comfy if i could have slept

My family and I drove 4 hours to stay the night before the Cherry Point airshow. At a cost of $336 for the night, I found it a bit ridiculous that there's a clause stating that if you don't clean your own room, you will be charged a variable rate depending on how much cleaning needed to be done. Since this was the closest hotel to the venue, and it had a 7.0 rating, I chose to proceed anyways.

The room was a huge disappointment. The king bed looked and felt like it had endured a dozen too many \"80's movie productions\". The TV was crooked and displayed half of the movie playing, and the chair in the room was the most uncomfortable and impractical piece of furniture I've ever seen. Condition-wise, it was the best piece of furniture in the room. Most likely due to the fact that no one could sit in it for more than 30 seconds.

The room had a foul smell that instantly gave me a headache and eventually a sore throat. My girlfriend believed it to be a cat urine smell.

The jetted tub in the bathroom looked as though it desperately needed a deep cleaning of the water jets.

Lastly, the haphazardly repaired cracks in the walls and around the window, instilled the feeling of disgust in just how poor this property is.

I have spent hundreds of nights in hotels and have never left without staying the night. I was in this room for 3 hours before calling it quits and returning to the road to drive 4 hours back home and abandon the trip. Save your money and sleep in your car

We got in town an hour early and they would accommodate us to check in before 3pm, about 5 yrs ago they renovated and the past 3 times we stayed it was good, this time the sheets and pillow covers were stained and dirty, the bathroom was dirty, and all the Sheetrock that was just replaced 5 yrs ago is broken, cracked and stained from water damage. We will not be staying there again. It's back to the holiday inn Express. It's worth it to pay the extra money to go there. This place is back to being the hole in the wall it used to be.

What a wonderful staff! They were so kind and accommodating! We were here while my son was having hip surgery. When my son and I came back to the hotel after his surgery, one of the ladies at the desk heard him say that he was wanting some orange juice. She literally came to the room with a jug of orange juice for him! That’s really going above and beyond for your guests. I’m sorry, I don’t know what her name was, but you should give her a raise! The rest of the staff even tried their best to help my son hobble back to our room while he was on his crutches. I’m so thankful for the staff here!

The staff was amazing. The room i had at first had a musty smell and dirty A/C unit. But i was switched to another room that was perfect.
